Still at Seraline Jonse hospital: outside the theatre
Melinda’s POV
I couldn’t believe it…indeed it is such a small round world. I nerve thought even in my wildest dreams that I would see Mia again even after traveling out of the country for so many years.
“I can’t believe you turned out to be a doctor…I am so proud of you Mia” I hugged her even more.
“I don’t want to break up your reunion but my daughter is still in there fighting for her life” a lady yelled.
A younger version of her approached us…I said a younger version because they looked so much alike.
“Mum, where is she?…” The girl was talking but then she took a pause.
“Mara? Why are you dressed like a doctor?” The girl spoke and at the same time she separated Mia from me.
“Charlotte, that’s not Mara…” the woman held her daughter back.
“Mara’s mom is right, we have to come to a decision before anything bad happens to Mara” Mia looked inside the theatre through the small glass on the door.
“My daughter is in there…she looks alot like you so you have to please save her life” the woman walked up to Mia and squeezed her hand while hot tears flowed from her eyes.
I could feel her pain and at the same time…I knew doctor Sanchez won’t let Mia carry out the surgery on Mara.
“Doctor Sanchez…you do the surgery. Mia, are you sure your blood matches hers?” I looked at Mia.
“Yes we are both O positive”Mia shook her head vertically.
“Okay…”I wanted to say something but doctor Sanchez was quick to interrupt me.
“We still have to run another test,” doctor Sanchez said before he went into the theatre. The nurses around knew exactly what to do as they led Mia to where they would get her blood sample for testing.
While we waited for the test result…I could see the fear and panic in Mara’s mum.
She couldn’t get herself to sit at a place and when she finally did she rested her head on her daughter’s shoulder and was crying.
I wanted to comfort her but there was no way I could just jump in and talk to her.
“This is amazing!!” Doctor Sanchez looked at the reports as he approached me.
“And what’s so amazing!
?” I walked up to him.. I was very confused. Why would he be amazed that two people have the same blood group…he should see these types of things almost everyday, after all he is a doctor.
“You have to come see for yourself” doctor Sanchez dragged me into the theatre.
My jaw dropped to the floor when I saw what Mara looked like. She looked exactly like Mia…you could hardly pinpoint any differences.
“If I didn’t know any better I would say they are related” doctor Sanchez kept shaking his head horizontally as he stared at the test result.
Meanwhile
Mara’s mum was panicking outside…she was happy that her daughter was going to be fine since they had already started the surgery on her but what she feared was the truth.
Now that she knows she isn’t Mara’s mom…what would happen if Mara finds out? Would she leave her and run off to go find her biological mother?.
“Wait!!” Mara’s mum held doctor Rose’s hand as she was about to enter the theatre.
“Is my daughter going to be fine?” Mara’s mum asked her.
“She is responding just fine” Rose gave her a big smile.
“Can I talk to you in private?” Mara’s mum looked at the doctor and then back at Charlotte who sat beside her.
“Sure thing” Rose replied and they both walked away from Charlotte who really didn’t mind.
“I know that your reports say that I am not Mara’s biological mother and I really don’t know how that is possible when I gave birth to her myself. I just don’t want any of this to get to my daughter.
If there is someone that needs to break this news to her then it is me” Mara’s mum was speaking so softly unlike when she first entered the hospital and was attacking everyone.
“But she will come to know of the truth sooner or later” Rose was being honest with her, it wasn’t in her intention to hurt Mara’s mum but she did.
“I know…I just want her to hear it from me but that will only be when I have got an explanation for her” Mara’s mum explained.
“Okay” Rose finally gave in to what Mara’s mum wanted before she headed into the theatre.
“She will be fine…thankfully the wound wasn’t so deep and she…was…treated on time” doctor Sanchez came out to give them the good news but he also struggled to say the last part.
“Thank you so can I go see my daughter now” Mara’s mum almost dived into the room.
“Not yet…I think it would be best if you wait for a couple of hours. You know just for us to monitor her” doctor Sanchez suggested before a nurse ran to him to inform him about another emergency.
Mia stood by the door and looked at her sister…she knew that Mara was her sister but what she didn’t know was that they were going to meet each other like this again.
“I told you that your story has just begun” she heard her father’s voice in her head.
“Should I tell her that she is my sister?” Mia asked her father.
“No, even though she is your sister. She has another family which she calls her own.
If you tell her that now…you are not just going to hurt her but you will also cause trouble between her and her family. You have to give your sister some time because just like you she has also been through a lot”.
“She had a family I didn’t and you say she went through alot” Mia scoffed at how pathetic it sounded
