Seraline Jonse hospital
“Mara!!” Mara’s mother kept on yelling as she rushed into the hospital like a person that was accidentally set free from the mental hospital.
“Where is she? How is she doing!” Mara’s mother grabbed the coat of the first doctor she could see with her eyes widened, and the first doctor she just happened to be the chief surgeon, doctor Sanchez.
“Who are you talking about ma’am? And please let go of my coat, you are strangling me” the doctor held her hand trying to get her away from his coat.
“Are you her mother?”Rose ran up to the woman…she had heard screaming and she ran towards the hospital entrance as fast as she could.
“Mara!” Mara’s mom ran to hug Mia who just stood there and watched her wrap her hand around her like some kind of rope.
“I do not like hugs…please let go of me” Mia was shaking and she began to panic. It was in Mia’s nature to panic whenever she was hugged.
It felt like she was being squeezed and she was trapped.
“Ma’am that is not your daughter…your daughter is…just come with me” Rose helped Mia to pull Mara’s mum off her as she led the lady to the theatre.
“She needs blood…if you don’t mind we would like to take a sample of yours but you have to file a police report first.
Then we can proceed”Rose instructed Mara’s mum who nodded her head vertically and did as she was told.
“How is this even possible?… it…it can’t be” Rose was in shock when she saw the test results.
“What’s not possible” Mia asked her as she took the test result from her
“Mara’s blood and that of her mum don’t even match in the slightest” Rose gave Mia an answer before she could go through the reports.
“It’s possible…they just don’t have the same blood group, maybe she has that of her father” Mia was trying her best to be open minded.
“Mia don’t be silly…I know you are smarter than this. With what these reports say it’s obvious that she isn’t her biological mother” Rose wasn’t going to turn a blind eye to what was in front of her.
“That can be true…so we just have to find another way to get the blood for her” Rose scratched her head…they were both in a fix.
“We have to inform her first,” Mia said.
“Your test results are fake…Mara is my daughter, she is my biological daughter. I gave birth to her” Mara’s mom had tears in her eyes, she had been listening to their conversation and she couldn’t keep quiet any longer.
“But….” Rose wanted to say something but decided it was best for her to be silent and give her time to sink the whole thing in.
“We have to save her first,” Mia reminded them of the issue at hand.
“Seems like you both are O positive…” Rose looked at Mia.
“Yes…I will donate my blood” Mia was in a hurry to enter the theatre.
“Stop right there Miss Mia” Doctor Sanchez interrupted her.
“Do you know the consequences of what you just did?” Doctor Sanchez was warning her…he never really liked Mia especially because despite being autistic other doctors still thought that Mia was smarter than him. He had always been full of himself.
“Miss Mia I don’t think we would want to be keeping you here in this hospital anymore”doctor Sanchez was scolding her not caring about the fact that they were surrounded by patients and other people…he wasn’t being professional because no one outside the hospital’s staff are suppose to know about the affairs going on in the hospital.
“Please leave” he commanded rather than asked.
“Are you firing her?? You can’t fire her, she is a resident doctor…she doesn’t have a job here so you can’t do that” Rose spoke up for Mia.
“Miss Rose, I am not firing her…in fact I am recommending her for a transfer. This hospital does not need someone like her and I would also like it if you stay out of this” doctor Sanchez was still insisting that Mia leaves.
“You have to calm down doctor Sanchez…you don’t have any right to transfer anybody without consulting the board first” a tall elegant slim lady walked in. She looked middle aged but yet so beautiful.
“I was planning to after she leaves” doctor Sanchez tried to defend himself.
“Is she the autistic one?” The lady suddenly picked interest in Mia.
“The one I hear is smarter than you?”
The lady asked again but this time in a whisper though she was loud enough for doctor Sanchez to hear her.
“Yes” he clenched his fist and pouted his lips.
“Hi I’m Mrs Melinda…what’s your name?” She stretched forth her hand and offered Mia a hand shake.
“My name is Mia” Mia lowered her gaze as she shook the lady with both hands. She didn’t even want to look at her…Mia didn’t even realize that she was grabbing the lady’s hand too tightly and she had been shaking it for too long.
“That’s enough Mia” Melinda stopped the handshake and freed her hand from Mia’s.
Mia felt something…she felt as if she had touched the hand before. She felt like this hand had carried her.
“You look and smell familiar” Mia suddenly spoke as she slowly tried to raise her head but stopped halfway
“How can that be when you haven’t seen me before…you have never been so close to me not to talk more of knowing what I smell like” Melinda shook her head.
“Did you run an orphanage before now?” Mia asked…this time raising her head to look at Melinda though she couldn’t look her straight in the eyes.
“Mia???” Melinda was shocked as she took a closer look at Mia.
It didn’t take too long from her to envelope Mia in a hug.
“I still don’t like hugs” Mia tried to break herself free from Melinda but Melinda only hugged her tighter.
“Ok…maybe…just this once” Mia struggled and finally she got herself to hug Melinda back.
