Today, Richard had driven an Audi. For all the times Macy had been into Richard’s mansion, she had never been to the garage.
This was because there was always someone to bring the car over whenever she wanted to go anywhere and there was no need to thus go to the garage.
She such didn’t know how many cars Richard owned but by the look of it, there must be several.
Macy wanted to get into the back seat but she realized that the car only had one door.
To get to the back seat, one had to lift the gunshot seat and Macy didn’t know how.
May opened the front door of the vehicle and crouched to talk to Richard.
“Boss, could you take care of Macy tonight? I have somewhere to be, please?” May asked and Macy wondered why she needed to be taken care of and she almost spoke but heard Richard’s monotone grunt as he accepted May’s request.
“Thank you boss,” May said as she stood back up and smiled at Macy.
“See you on Monday for the photo shoots of the second promotional poster.
Take care of yourself so that you could look super on Monday,” she said and then held the door, “get in. You are in very good hands,” May said with a smile and Macy wished she could run away.
“Why? Let me take you where you are going,” Macy said.
“What? Am I your mama? Do I have to take you to my date?
You will be a third wheel and I don’t want that.
I just met her and she will think I am dating you.
Just get in,” she said and Macy had no option.
She got in and gave May the side eye that told May that revenge would be coming soon.
She didn’t care though.
She knew she would get a bonus for organizing this.
“See you guys,” she said as she waved and watched Richard drive off with a straight face as if he wasn’t in on everything that happened.
He drove without a word until Macy realized that they weren’t driving towards his home or towards her apartment building.
“Where are we going?” She asked.
The first words any of them said since May left them.
“There is a problem at the hotel and I want to pass by first, see the manager and then we will go home.
Is that okay? Or do you want me to take you home first?” He asked and Macy shook her head.
It was already late at night and asking him to take a detour would be too much.
“No. It’s okay,” she said and after driving for a few more minutes, they arrived at The Grand Hotel in the heart of the city.
Macy loved that drive. Since it was late at night, there was limited traffic and the car seemed like it was gliding on the highway and she didn’t even feel the bumps.
That was the difference between driving a cheap car and an expensive car.
They alighted and a valet took the keys and Richard led her in.
As Macy had expected, the hotel was grand as was its name.
It deserved the name.
From the flowers on the front pouch and the ones that lined the entrance, to the expensive decor on the lobby, everything screamed wealth.
The beautiful receptionists at the front desk smiled at them as they arrived.
“Good night sir, how may I help you?” One of them said.
Macy wondered why they were calling him sir.
Did it mean that they had no idea that they were speaking to the owner of this building?
“Yes, I have an appointment with the manager.
Tell her that I am here,” he said and the two looked at each other.
At that moment, a middle aged woman in a suit walked in from a side entrance and beamed when she saw Richard.
She was wearing a floral black and white shirt dress and topped it off with a black jacket that had white highlights at the collar and hem of the sleeves.
She was wearing black heels that weren’t very high and she screamed executive in that look.
“Hello sir? Thank you for coming so quickly, please come in,” she said and she shook his hand and the two girls at the receptionist desk heaved a sigh when the manager saved them.
At first, they were wondering who this was and why the late night appointment with their manager.
They were thinking it could be a hoax.
“Would you like to come with us or go to the restaurant and take something as you wait?” Richard asked her.
He didn’t want her to feel bored by business talk but he would go with her if that’s what she wanted.
“I will wait at the restaurant,” she said and before Richard could say anything, the manager spoke.
“Take her to the second floor restaurant and order the waiters to give her anything she asks for,” the manager said.
“Yes ma’am,” one of the girls answered as she left the take and walked towards Macy with a smile.
Even without being told, they could tell that Richard and Macy weren’t ordinary people.
For the manager to treat them like that, it meant that they were important guests.
Macy watched as the two left and then turned to the girl, “it’s okay.
Let me breath fresh air out here first and if I want anything, I will be back,” she smiled and the other girl was mesmerized by that smile.
“Yes ma’am,” the girl said and they both watched Macy walk out.
It was a good thing that Macy had been dressed for the party otherwise, she would have looked very odd in such a hotel in the Clothes she usually wore.
Macy was still in shock. Richard had kissed her and he was behaving like it wasn’t a big deal.
After Andy left her for Angela, Macy stayed away from men. She wasn’t ready and Richard was her second kiss and it was not what she expected.
Looking at her life, a man was the last one to thing she wanted although she wanted to belive that Richard wasn’t interested in her.
“Maybe he was just genuinely walking by and he happened to walk in at that moment when I needed a saviour,” she thought to herself.
She could never believe that Richard did it for her or that he was interested in her.
Since they knew each other all thanks to Mel, he had never acted in a way that told her that he was interested in her.
She thus thought that it was all a huge coincidence.
“Arrrgh! I need a drink,” Macy decided as she didn’t want to rake her brain anymore.
She wanted to drink and forget it all.
She was afraid of drinking at the party because she was afraid of what someone would put in her drink.
Even though she had May with her, she didn’t want to take chances with her health.
Macy walked out of The Grand Hotel and she realized that the main entrance was a fairly far distance from the hotel than she had thought but she didn’t feel the distance as she was deep in thought.
After leaving the premises, she looked around and wondered where she could go to drink where Richard wouldn’t find her.
She then started walking down the road she chose and then she saw a very brightly decorated club: Gemini.
The big letters were written in gold and they were visible from afar.
“Exactly what I need,” she thought as she produced her ID to show to the bouncers at the door and she got in.
She went and sat at a high stool at the bar and ordered a drink.
“The strongest margaritas you have,” she ordered and decided to spoil herself.
She didn’t want to use her money on such things as drinking because she had plans for the future but she didn’t see the problem of spoiling herself once in a while.
She needed to strategies in how she would get out of Richard’s life without hurting Mel but for tonight, she decided to let it go.
She knew that cutting Richard off of her life meant that she wouldn’t see Mel as much as she wanted but it was something she had to do.
“It is all for the best,” she said as she took her shots.
Upstairs in a private booth, there was a group of wealthy second generation heirs that could see what was happening in the first floor of the club.
One had noticed Macy come in and her conversation with the bartender and the way she was drinking.
He was admiring her and the reason why these people came such places, it was to look for women to get laid.
They never really took such relationships seriously because they knew that at the end of the day, their marriages were arranged by their parents depending on how such a marriage would benefit the family business.
It was about the girl who would bring the most benefits to the family.
Beside these young handsome men, there sat ladies who knew all this but they didn’t care. They clutched to such relationships because for as long as they could because of the benefits they also could get in such a short time.
Such benefits included money, job connections, chances of meeting anyone connected to these heirs who would bring in more benefits and sex, of course sex was always great and these free treats.
The girl with the man who was watching Macy saw what he was doing and she followed his gaze and she also saw the beautiful Belle that was at the barstool alone.
One thought crossed the girl’s mind, as they came to such places to hunt for men, so was Macy.
She wasn’t about to lose the man she had spent weeks hunting before she got what she was after.
