Macy was just sitting on the bar stool minding her own business and planning on her mind what to tell Richard or how to get out of their lives when she heard a commotion.
She turned and saw several girls dressed like wanna be socialites walking towards the bar.
“Barman, give us the most expensive wine you have,” one of them said and Macy lost interest in them.
She was here to think and not even such unlearned girls would take her mind off that.
The bartender produced a bottle of wine and gave the ladies and gave them some wine glasses.
“I thought that this club served only high class people.
When did they start allowing cheap whores in?” The girl who had asked for the wine asked again.
Macy was the target but she didn’t hear what the girl had asked because her mind was on other ‘more important’ things.
When they didn’t get any reaction from Macy, they were happy and since she wasn’t concentrating on them, they wondered how to go about it.
They left for upstairs again and Macy asked for another serving.
She continued sipping her margaritas slowly.
She hoped that after Richard realizes that she had left, he would just go home.
Seeing him made her confused.
Macy had her life mapped out: start her career in acting, make lots and lots of money, and she had started saving, then start a business, work her ass off until she becomes rich and then take revenge.
She had to because they all thought that they could suppress her but she had learnt everything she did in preparation for the day of reckoning with her family.
She had learnt how to fight: karate, jujitsu, kung-fu, taekwondo, she had lived with monks and the she had learnt technology.
She knew coding and hacking and all these were when she started taking revenge.
But the appearance of Richard and Asher was throwing everything haywire.
She didn’t want that. She wanted to achieve her goals before she could think of letting her heart go.
As she was enjoying her drink, the same girls came again with a greater commotion this time.
That girl wasn’t letting it go.
“Hey you, why do you pretend to be of class while you are seated there seducing other people’s men,” the girl who tries earlier said and that made Macy turn because the girl had shaken her.
Macy looked at her surprised what she was going on about and wondering whether it was her the girl was addressing.
“I’m talking to you. Are you deaf?” The girl asked when she saw that Macy wasn’t speaking.
“Are you talking to me?” Macy asked in surprise.
“Who else? Why are you seducing my man?” The girl asked again.
“Me? When? Where? Haven’t I just been sitting here all alone?
When did I seduce your man?
Where was he?” Macy asked and chucked sarcastically.
Was the world coming to an end?
She didn’t know that even sitting here could earn her enemies.
“Stop pretending that you are chaste when you have been giving him seductive stares all night,” the girl continued.
Macy didn’t want to argue with an idiot because she was tired.
She had partied all night and she thought she could rewind here for a while before going back home but it seemed like nature wasn’t working with her.
She got a fifty dollar note from her purse and gave it to the bartender and “keep the change,” she said and started walking away.
“Where are you going? Think you are somebody? Do you know me?
Do you think you can just seduce someone’s man and get away with it?” The girl asked as she went to slap Macy but she was mistaken.
As much as Macy wanted to keep a low profile, she wasn’t one to allow a person to bully her.
Those days were long gone.
Macy held the hand that was about to slap her and she pushed the woman and the girl lost balance and fell on her butt.
“You… you… do you know who I am?
I am going to make you pay?
Jay, she hit me,” the girl screamed as her friends helped her get up.
It was messy and awkward as she was in a very short mini dress and eight inch high heels.
She would get up and then fall again when the heel refused to hold and the girls helping her weren’t any good either.
Macy realized that they were all glad.
She walked around them intending to walk towards the door when a group of six young men stood in front of her.
“You have just hit my girlfriend and I will forgive you if you have a drink with us,” the man who was the cause of all the commotion said with a knowing smile.
He had been admiring her the whole time since she entered the club and sat at the bar and he didn’t think that his temporary girlfriend was as foolish as to confront her.
But when he thought about it, it was okay because she had given him a chance to get closer to Macy.
“No, thank you. Why would I need to be forgiven if I haven’t done anything?” Macy challenged the man.
She was not a pushover and she wasn’t about to be bullied by self entitled arses.
The man laughed loudly and sarcastically.
“You have some guts, I will give you that.
Now, be a good girl and drink with us.
I promise you that we will make it worth your while.
What do you think about five thousand dollars for a night of fun for me and my friends here?” The man asked and smiled knowingly at Macy.
“You bitch! You said you didn’t seduce him. What are you doing now?” Finally, the girl was on her feet and she screamed.
“Shut up Ada. Shut up.
I’ve already given you enough.
Now, be a good girl and go home, I am going to call you tomorrow,” the man said to the girl who looked at him with her mouth agape.
She couldn’t believe that her fears had come true.
“But Jesse baby, weren’t we having fun?” She tried ingratiating herself to the man as she rubbed her big artificial beasts on his arm and he threw her off of him.
“Now, go. And I won’t tell you twice.
Otherwise, I will get angry and break things off,” he said and that made her stop and think.
She chose to walk away after thinking for a while.
“You… We will meet,” she told Macy and before she could walk away, there was a voice behind them.
“Any problem here?” The deep voice of the man Macy had been trying to run away from since he kissed her.
“No sir, no problem,” the man, Jesse said smiling at Richard.
“But there seems to be,” he said as he looked at Macy.
Macy, on her side, felt like she would melt with shame.
‘How did he find her?’ She wondered as she smiled at him with no confidence.
“Are you okay?” He asked Macy who nod her head without looking at him because she didn’t know how to face him.
“Let’s go home,” he said as he took Macy’s hand but Jesse stopped him.
“Excuse me. What are you doing? I saw her first.
I already offered her five thousand dollars and you came in and want to take her without asking me?
I am not sharing her tonight. So, please, let go of her and go find your own woman.
This one is mine tonight,” he said and Richard stopped and looked at Macy with amusement.
“Did you agree to take his five thousand?” He asked and Macy looked at him amazed that he could make a joke at a time like that.
“No. It was too little,” she said and Richard looked at Jesse.
“See, she doesn’t want to,” he said.
“Okay. Then I make ten thousand. What do you say?
Then thousand dollars cash,” he said as she produced a wad of cash from his jacket.
“This is two thousand as down-payment.
You get the rest on the morning after we are done.
Deal?” Jesse asked fighting.
He didn’t want to lose to this stranger.
“I think ten thousand is still too little. What do you say?” He asked Macy who sneered at the two thousand Jesse was holding and smiled at Richard.
“Yeah, too little,” she said as she smiled at him seductively as if she was seducing him.
This made Jesse very jealous and he was a man who didn’t want to lose.
“Who do you think you are? I saw her first and now you think you can cemoete against me?
I am Jesse Rodgers of Rodgers Enterprises.
I can buy you and your whole family out,” he screamed at Richard.
“Oh, you can? Interesting.
How about I sit here and see what you can do and see what I can do,” Richard said accepting the challenge.
He wasn’t a vain man but he had his manhood to take care of before a woman.
This was Macy and he was’nt about to cower before these fools who never worked and all they knew was how to squander their parents wealth.
“You… you… you really want to see what I can do?” He asked Richard as he pointed at him with saliva frothing at the sided of his mouth.
“Amuse me,” Richard said and he led Macy to the bar again and helped her mount one of the bar stools.
