Macy sat with Melvin at a corner as Melvin trembled and cried.
“It’s okay baby. We’ll be okay. Shh! Don’t cry. It will be okay,” Macy soothed the young girl and all that time, Cassy was looking at them.
“Who are you?” She asked Macy because she could tell that these two had a close relationship.
“Oh, me? No one. I am just an employee of the Armstrong family and I have been taking care of the little miss here,” Macy answered.
What Cassandra realised was that this girl didn’t have any fear in her eyes.
“Then, why risk your life for her? Do they pay you enough?” Cassy continued asking.
“It’s not about pay ma’am. It’s about the relationship I have with Melvin,” Macy answered as she continued soothing the young girl.
“Hey you, come here,” Cassandra called to Melvin.
Melvin either did not hear her or she ignored her.
“Melvin, your mother is calling you. Come here,”Cassy repeated again and again, the young girl ignored her.
“How dare you! My life is a living hell because of you.
You and your father are the reason why I am a prostitute today.
He took everything from me and I am going to make sure he regrets it by taking what he values most in this world.
And that’s you.
After I am done selling your organs, I will be rich again and I am going to a country where there are no extradition laws.
He will never find me.
I gave you to him and I am taking you away,” Cassandra said with so much venom in her voice that Macy was surprised.
He couldn’t understand how the cool man she knows married such a venomous woman.
She now understood why both Mel and her father never talked about this woman.
How could she think of killing her own flesh and blood for money?
Macy felt bad for Mel. Even though her family hated her, she knew it was because of the lies and the setups of Angela.
Her parents were just misunderstanding her and she knew that they would never think of killing her.
But this… this…. this was what she could imagine.
She now understood why she liked Mel at the first moment they met. It was maybe because they were in the same boat.
They were both hated by their birth mother and they helped each other fill those gaps.
“Why do you hate her so much? Isn’t she your child?” Macy asked.
“You don’t know the half of it.
Richard lied to me.
It is all his fault.
He posed as a poor man and I married him because I felt pity on him.
Yes he loved me but what could love do? Could I eat love? Could I boast to my friends because I was loved? No!
And then I got pregnant. They told me to abort it but I didn’t because I thought life would change.
But nothing changed.
In fact, it got worse. I gave birth to a sickling and she looks like her father and it disgusts me.
Why didn’t he tell me that he was rich from the beginning? Why? He lied to me.
He made a fool of me.
Even when I was getting married to William. He should have told me!
It is all his fault that I lost everything!
I will make him suffer.
And you,” this to Macy, “you shouldn’t have meddled. But it’s good.
It’s good that you came because the more money I will have though they prefer young organs,” Cassy said and the gears in Macy’s brain started going at an overspeed.
She was thinking of how to get out of this situation. She was going to save Mel even if she died while doing it.
She didn’t argue with Cassandra because she could see that this woman was crazy.
She pitied both Macy and Richard for having lived with such a crazy woman.
They were still on air and Macy didn’t want them to land.
She knew that if they landed, they would be under Casandra’s mercy and she didn’t want that.. She wanted to take charge before that.
In the plane, there were six people: her and Melvin, Casandra and her two minions and the pilot.
She was sure that if she got a hold of the gun with one of the men, she could take them down.
She decided on a plan and as Cassandra was busy conversing with the men, which Macy obviously knew was nothing good, she talked to Mel.
“I want to go to the toilet,” Melvin said, making them look at her.
“What did you say?” Cassy asked with disgust in her face.
“I want to go to the toilet,” she repeated in a small voice and Cassy sneered.
“Go if you must. You, take them,” she said and ordered one of the men to go with them.
Macy held Melvin’s hand and walked with her towards the back of the plane and a man with a gun pointed at Macy’s nape was following them.
Macy opened the door to the compartment and led Melvin inside.
“You can’t go with her. Let her help herself,” the man said and Macy nodded.
“Baby, lie on the floor and don’t come out unless I call you. Whatever happens, don’t come out. Okay?” Macy whispered and Melvin nodded
Macy kissed her and locked the door and jammed it with a hair pin.
Before the man following her realised what was happening, Macy was at his throat and the gun was in her hand.
At one time, she was facing the door to the toilet and the next, she had held the hand that was outstretched holding the gun and spun the man.
He was lying with his back to the floor and Macy was at his throat with her knee and she knocked him unconscious using the gun she was holding on his temple.
When Casandra and the other man realised what was happening, the man shot at her but she had already rolled away and the bullet went through his partner.
She then shot at his leg and he fell.
Casandra was standing there not knowing what to do and screaming.
Macy stood up and shot the hand of the man whose leg she had shot and he let go of the gun.
Macy walked to him and took the gun and put it at the back of her pant’s waist.
“What are you doing?
Not unless you are going to fly a plane, you can’t kill me.
If you kill me, the people waiting for us at the other end will kill you after telling your organs.
Did you think I am behind all this? No. It’s not me.
Even my husband is a middle man to the real bosses.
So, be a good girl and make the right decision. Give me the guns and maybe I will let you live,” Casandra said and Macy sneered.
“You already said that you aren’t the boss. You are just a foolish pawn who has been used to kill her own child.
How about this, I leave you alive and let Richard take care of you?” Macy asked with a smile that made Cassy freeze.
She had thought that she had outsmarted Richard but now, here she was.
She went to jump at Macy and Macy slapped her.
The slap was so heavy that it left her down on her butt.
Macy then pointed the gun at her and shot at her thigh.
Casandra screamed and it was almost a miracle that the scream didn’t bring the plane down.
Macy then shot her other thigh and the womb fainted.
The man who had been shot twice was replying to teach for something and Macy didn’t wait to see what it was.
She shot the good hand and he groaned in pain as he laid down there not knowing what to do.
Macy then opened the cockpit and pointed the gun at the driver.
“Where are we going?” She asked.
“To Virginia. That’s all I had been told,” the pilot added because he could tell that this woman would shoot if he did or said anything suspicious.
“Okay, I want us to go back to where you picked us from,” Macy said.
“But miss the towers…”
“Do I look like I care?”
“Okay miss, roger that. To Duplantis airport it is,” the pilot said and Macy saw him start fiddling with some buttons and she went back and locked the cockpit.
She then looked around and found a parachute.
Even if she had asked the pilot to go back, she couldn’t take chances by staying here. If these people had the audacity to kidnap Armstrong’s child, there was nothing they couldn’t do.
Macy fastened the parachute well to her body and went back to the toilet.
“Baby, open up,” she called Melvin and the girl opened.
Macy took her and used some sheets she had found and fastened Melvin safely to her chest.
“Are you afraid of heights?” Macy asked the little girl.
“With auntie here I am not afraid,” Mel said and Macy smiled.
“Good girl,” Macy said as she kissed Mel’s cheek.
“So long,” she told no one and then opened the safety hatch and jumped with an excited scream.
