Richard came back after two days from LA after making sure that May did her job well.
It’s not that he doubted her capability but he wanted to make sure that every member of the Four Ninjas mafia organisation had been taken care of.
The elders of the organisation knew why and they didn’t complain. They were lucky that Richard didn’t touch their bank accounts.
That would be a lasting example to those who thought that he had lost his touch.
When he came back home, there was an additional suit in his closet.
He noticed it right away because it looked like a misplaced colour in the sea of black and white. It was royal blue.
He went to see what it was and his face looked shocked when he saw a second one: maroon.
He wondered whether someone had made a mistake and he walked towards the back of the mansion where he had been told Melvin and Macy were.
He saw them talking seriously and he walked slowly without making any noise to see what they were so engrossed in.
“So, you do it like that. Multiplication is like adding a number the number of times that you have been given.
For example, if you have been told twenty multiplied by four, they want you to add twenty four times.
But there is a way to do it easily. Here, let auntie show you,” Macy continued and her student was very attentive and Richard didn’t disturb them.
He also stood there wondering why his teacher never taught him that way.
It was so simple that by the time Macy and Mel were noticing that there was a third person with them, Mel was multiplying two by two numbers.
He wondered when he gave birth to a genius and he didn’t notice.
“Daddy! You are back!” Melvin brought him back to reality when she screamed his name.
“Yes. Daddy is back.
Anyone want tea?” He asked and she smiled at him.
“Yes, auntie, let’s go take tea with daddy,” melvin said and Macy’s refusal was in her mouth.
Melvin saw it coming and she got down from her father’s arms and held Macy’s hand in one of her hands and her father’s in the other.
“Daddy, I have so much to tell you.
We bought you new suits. They are so beautiful.
Next time we will hit matching outfits…” Richard remembered that he had seen a text from the back but since he was busy in LA making sure that people knew he was back, he didn’t really look at it.
He took out his phone and scrolled and saw the message. It was from the bank showing a purchase of forty something thousand dollars and he now knew what the money was used for.
He didn’t mind.
In fact, he was happy.
He was happy that Macy was now using his money.
That meant that she had started feeling at home and he was now sure that she would not leave Melvin.
“Did you move in?” Richard asked Macy who was pretending that she wasn’t around as she listened to Melvin’s rattling.
“I… it’s okay Mr Armstrong. I don’t want to impose,” Macy said.
She had asked the butler who was supposed to move her things and she instructed them not to.
Although she had agreed on staying with them, she later decided not to.
“Okay. I understand it. Maybe you feel like you are a stranger.
But now since you are a part of us, you can’t live in the slums.
You have to move somewhere better,” he said and stood up.
He called his brother and instructed him on what to do and then came back to the table.
“Asher will take care of everything,” Richard said and Macy was grateful that he understood.
Richard didn’t feel anything for Macy so as to say. What he didn’t want was to hurt his daughter.
He wanted to make sure that she retained the only woman in her life who she cliqued with.
Maybe, that would make up for what her mother did.
He had also noticed that since Mel got close to Macy, she had improved dramatically both academically, health wise and all round. He was happy that she was a positive influence on his daughter.
Macy was given an apartment at Royal Gardens which was also owned by the Armstrong group.
This was the apartment where the A-list artists lived and Angela had an apartment here that was being said for by her company.
The same company that was paying for the run down apartment that Macy was living in.
Macy was moved to the suit that was reserved for the president but no one knew that.
Melvin had finally been cleared by her doctors and she could now go to a normal school and she was enrolled in one of the best private kindergartens in Great Falls.
Life, for a while, continued as usual.
This was until one day, Macy went to pick Melvin from school as scheduled on a Friday afternoon but Melvin wasn’t there.
Macy thought that she had made a mistake and asked the teacher again, “Ms Olive, you know me, I always come here to pick Melvin Armstrong every other day.”
“I know you Ms Smith. But like I said the girl, Melvin Armstrong was picked by her mother.
She herself confirmed that she knew that woman.
That was a few minutes ago,” the teacher repeated and Macy was stamped.
“Did you see the type of a vehicle that she was driving?” Macy asked.
“Yes, they were in a Range Rover sport with registration number XXXX,” the teacher said and Macy left in a hurry.
She got into her vehicle and started driving as she called Richard.
“Macy? Did you get Melvin? I will be there at the hotel by the time you two come,” Richard said.
“Sir, Melvin was taken. Her teacher told me that she was taken by her mother,” Macy said and she heard the panic on the other side.
“Who took her?” Richard asked.
He and Melvin had planned to go for dinner and side Macy was the one to pick her from school, they had obviously invited her.
“Her mother,” Macy answered. “She was driving a Range Rover sport car of registration number XXXX. I am currently driving towards the direction the teacher told me,” Macy said.
Melvin had told her about the woman who was her mother.
Macy hadn’t asked Richard but from the way that she had never heard neither him nor Melvin talk about her, she could deduce that this wasn’t a good woman.
“Okay. Keep at it. Let me get someone to track the vehicle and we will be with you soonest,” Richard said and hung up.
Macy knew that she had made the right call when she heard what Richard had said.
She continued driving and after a few minutes, Richard called again.
“Macy, they are going towards the Duplantis private airstrip. Drive towards there but don’t do anything without backup in case you get there before us,” Richard said and Macy increased her speed.
She was at the airport at the same time that she saw them get out of the vehicle.
“Mel,” Macy shouted and Melvin looked at her and Macy could tell that Melvin had been crying.
“Auntie,” Melvin screamed and started running towards Macy.
“Come here you spoiled brat,” the woman whom Macy assumed was Melvin’s mother pulled the girl aggressively.
They ran towards a private jet that was a few metres away from where they had parked and Macy ran towards them.
By the time Cassy was boarding the plane, Macy was with them and she started fighting with the two men who had come with the woman.
Macy overpowered them and jumped on the plane at the same time she heard Richard shouting at her.
She didn’t look back because she had only one thought in mind: she couldn’t leave Melvin with that woman.
When Cassy saw Richard and a dozen men alight from several vehicles, she shouted at the pilot to start the plane and he did as another man closed the heavy door.
Macy had already got to Melvin and she was holding her ready to jump when another man held a gun to her head.
“I wouldn’t if I were you,” the man said and Macy froze.
She was with Melvin and she couldn’t risk the young girl’s life.
“Go you idiot!” Casandra shouted and the jet skied off.
The two men whom Macy had overpowered were left there as sacrificial lambs to Macy’s shenanigans.
“If you want to die that much, then well and good. You shouldn’t have poked your nose in business that doesn’t concern you,” Cassandra said as she sat down and buckled up.
Macy was thrown here and there as she held Melvin tightly as the place soared.
She looked back and hoped that Richard was after them.
But whatever happened, she couldn’t let this woman hurt Melvin.
