Book:Alpha’s Regret: Chasing My Rejected Mate Published:2024-6-4

The Moon Bearers and Crescent Moon pack became involved in busy activities. From morning to night, the training ground was crowded with recruits who were training for the upcoming war. Everyone has been alerted about the situation at hand, being warned about who Stefan is.
Surprisingly the people were interested in taking up their civilian duties and fighting for their packs, this made the work easier for the Gammas and other high-ranked soldiers.
Iris is training them with all her efforts and skills she learned from her father, Jax watches her with pride. After the training, he brings her food and water.
“You should rest, Iris. You’ve been training them since morning,” Jax says to her.
“I can’t rest, we have to build this army to be strong enough to fight Stefan’s army. Stefan will surely gather the rogues that are supporting him, these rogues are brutal and will to any extent kill for him.”
“When that time comes, we’ll give it our best shot. Come on, let’s go to the room and take a shower.”
Iris follows him behind, she has missed him so badly but the matter at hand has cut short their intimate moments. They’ve been so preoccupied with Stefan’s drama that they forgot about themselves.
“You know that I’ve missed you,” Jax confesses.
“You know that I’ve missed you too but we can’t be comfortable with intimacy when our pack is at risk,” Iris pouts.
“I know, let’s just lose ourselves tonight shall we?”
Iris chuckles softly as he closes the room door, “I’ve been waiting for you to say that for ages!”
They kiss passionately, pulling off their clothes and holding themselves tight. They fall on the bed and pull the sheets over their heads.
“After this war, I’m gonna marry you, Iris. I’ll make you my Luna.”
Iris stops, “A rogue has never been a Luna before.”
It is strongly taboo for a rogue to be high-ranked in a pack, they are outlaws and therefore should be seen as one. Iris has been dreading this since, there will be opposition and hearings, there will be questions and scrutiny.
“Iris, you do not have to worry about that. I have already gone through the process and it has been approved, we can get married in peace.”
“Really?”
“Yes, I don’t want you to feel bad about yourself anymore because soon you’ll be a queen and my wife.”
He kisses her again, even more passionately than the other time.
“I want you forever.”
That night, they make an intense lovemaking over and over again until they become exhausted. The next day, the training continues.
Louis comes over to discuss with Jax and Conrad about how the team is faring.
“They’re working hard, Louis. Everyone is doing the best they can to be the best they can. All we have to do is to make sure we are prepared for whatever crazy things are about to happen next,” Jax replies.
“My armies are ready too,” Louis replies.
“Louis, there’s something I wanted to ask you. What will happen if you find out that Emily is still alive?” Conrad asks.
He wants to know if he stands a chance to reunite with her or if he should just forget about it. He knows that Emily does not belong to him, Louis is alone now without anyone to come in between their relationship. He won’t stand a chance to win her back even though she’s still alive.
“Conrad, if Emily is still alive, I want to have her back as mine.” Louis’s voice sounds like it’s final.
Jax simply looks at them, he does not want to interfere in their affairs.
“That is also fine with me, I will withdraw from my relationship with Emily .”
They only have to pray that she is not dead because if she is, there won’t be any hope for both of them.
“I’ve also decided to marry Iris after the fight,” Jax says, “We’ll get married once everything calms down.”
“You have my full support, Jax,” Louis replies.
After all, it is about time that the equality rule is implemented in the pack’s policy. As they sit and continue to discuss, a servant interrupts them with a letter in his hands. He hands the letter to Jax to read.
“It’s Stefan, he’s declaring war.”
Conrad and Louis rise to their feet. The moment they all have been waiting for is finally here, Stefan had taken the bait!
“Now let the war begin.”
Stefan had requested for the war to be fought at Kingspin Castle, a demolished palace believed to hold a lot more history than anyone imagined. Stefan stood with his army at the center of the field in front of the demolished castle, Sarah was standing by his side with her sword.
“The time we have been waiting for is finally here, by dusk they’ll come and we’ll complete our destiny.”
Stefan smiles proudly, glad that he did not need the Alpha title to be able to get on with his revenge. He only needed a good accomplice and as soon as he got one, things started to work out in his favor.
“You know that I’m forever grateful that you walked into my life, with you by my side, we’ll make progress together,” Stefan says.
“A lot of progress.”
“What about Emily ?” Stefan asks her.
“Do not worry, I locked her up in one of the rooms that she’ll never get out of. She’ll die of starvation in there even before any of them will find out that she’s alive.”
“That bitch is lucky that I don’t want to shed her blood, she better die fast,” Stefan jokes.
The evening approaches fast, and from the window, Emily looks out helplessly at the sun as it sets. Her hands, legs, and mouth are bound with no means of freedom.
She is stuck here and a war will be going on soon, she prays for an intervention. The moon goddess should grant her request and keep her safe, she needs to survive this night again.
