Book:Alpha’s Regret: Chasing My Rejected Mate Published:2024-6-4

The silence in Moon Bearers pack house is suffocating, everyone is left with one dreadful thought – Emily is dead. If Stefan could go to the extent of murdering Katherine, why would Emily’s case be of any difference? Stefan the maniac has already sworn that he will not stop until he is satisfied with his level of revenge, it has only begun. He will soon taste his own medicine and be put into place.
Jax stared at the empty room that belonged to Emily, her cologne is still fresh as if she only left a few minutes ago. Her open wardrobe showed the emptied interior that she was forced to take all her things at the same time. Jax heaves a heavy sigh, thinking about how devastated Louis will be. He lost two … no… three important people in his life – Emily, Katherine, and his baby. Jax could only imagine the pains of losing one’s offspring.
Iris places her hand softly on his shoulder, she has noticed his silent attitude ever since they returned from Katherine’s funeral. Although it’s killing her, she knows his reasons for being like this. Yet she can’t help but go closer to him in comfort, he needs someone to occasionally remind him that everything will be alright.
“I don’t know what I was thinking about when I kicked her out. what am I going to tell her parents?” Jax exclaims.
“You have to take everything one step at a time,” Iris whispers in his ears.
“I don’t even know the first step to take, Iris. That’s what baffles me the most, I’m just here with a lot of options but nowhere to start with.”
“That’s why you have me, Jax. I’ll help you make the right decision, I’ll stand by your side and assist you whenever you need my help, that’s why I’m here.”
Jax smiles, Iris’s love is genuine. He knows that she is saying this from her heart. He thanks the moon goddess for allowing him to be united with Iris again, both he and his pack would have been ruined by now if he had married Sarah.
Conrad approaches them, “The funeral is ready for Freya.”
Even though Freya is a criminal, she is honored at a funeral because she was murdered out of injustice. it was the only compensation that was closest to other rules, he nodded and they walked towards the graveyard.
Freya has no family so the only people in attendance are Jax, Iris, and Conrad. They watch as she is being laid to rest, a drop of tear flows from Conrad’s eyes as a lot of regrets flood in.
maybe should have just forgiven her that night? it would have stopped her from vomiting the truth about her and Sarah. It hits Conrad’s head that Sarah and Stefan might have been working together, it’s quite unfortunate that she has to pay the price.
“Freya, no matter what transpired between us. I promise that I’ll fight for you,” Conrad says amidst tears.
She did nothing to deserve such a plotting act from Sarah and her cohorts.
“I’ll fight for every single blood that has been shed in the hands of Stefan, he may think that he has outsmarted all of us but his doom is only near,” Jax says.
Freya’s death touched him, he was rooting for her when she joined the training ground. Circumstances had led to their return and things went awry from there, Freya still did not deserve to die in such a manner.
Iris sighs, “I don’t know who you are, Freya. But I believe that no matter what the crime you commit, no one deserves to be punished in the way you were convicted. The mastermind should have gone down with you, that’s the promise I’m making right now. We’ll find the mastermind and bring them down.”
Freya had already destroyed the good life she would have lived, she would have simply approached Conrad and explained the situation to him. However, she adhered to Sarah who betrayed her by killing her first. Jax clenched his fists as he thought of it, revenge clouded his mind.
From afar, Sarah and Stefan watched with Emily tied in the back seat. A tight cello tape was used to keep her mouth trapped and shut.
“What a lovely reunion,” Sarah says sarcastically.
“Who should be next?” Stefan smirks.
“I have a better idea,” Sarah says.
“What could it be?”
“War,” Sarah says dramatically.
“War? The moment for war is still far,” Stefan reasons.
“We should not wait any further, we have to take them all at once and the best time is now that they are unawares. let’s prepare for war, Stefan.”
“You’re right. Going for war once and all will be a good strategy to win this battle, come on let’s go home and prepare for war.”
Jax, Iris, and Conrad decide to go back to the pack house, oblivious of the culprits at a far corner. They immediately enter the war room and begin to plan with Scar on how to fight this war, Louis had told them to draw their map plans.
“We should wait for Stefan to declare war on us that will give us a clear description of where he is leading us,” Scar suggests.
“Why? Stefan has done a lot of horrible things, we should hunt him down immediately,” Conrad says.
“Relax, Beta Conrad. If we declare now the enemy will find a way to penetrate our households and destroy our valuables,” Scar says.
“I will agree with Scar on this one, let Stefan wage war first. Maybe through this right we’ll learn of his weaknesses and something we can use to finish him off completely,” Jax says.
The meeting is over but the heavy hearts remain sober, all that is expected of Stefan is to take the bait and fall into the trap.
Jax returns to Emily’s empty room with fire ablaze in his eyes, the battle line has been drawn between them.
