Louis stirs around on his bed, he must have overslept last night. Stretching his arms out, he realizes that Katherine is no longer there. He gets up immediately, it’s so unlike her to leave the bed early in the morning, she usually stays up till mid-morning. He goes down to the kitchen to have his breakfast which is already served by the omegas.
Louis is surprised that Katherine is not there, it feels strange that she is absent at the early hours in the morning.
“Where’s Katherine?” he asks one of them.
“She went out in the morning.”
Louis is stunned, where did Katherine go without his permission? After eating, he goes about his daily exercise routine with his beta, Williams.
“You don’t seem too good for the past few days now,” Williams says.
“How can I, Williams? Emily’s life is in danger and I’ve been overstressing myself since I don’t even know what to do.”
“I think it’s high time you forgot about her, allow her cousin to do his job as her family to find her.”
“But Jax is still a young man, he might not know how to get things done. He needs a strong backup to find his cousin’s sister,” Louis answers.
Williams sighs, “Have you thought about the effect it will have on Katherine?”
“Katherine understands about this already, she is not complaining about it.”
“There’s something I have to tell you about Katherine, she’s pregnant.”
“What?” Louis stops exercising and stares intently at Williams.
“Yes, we found out a few days ago. Maybe you should forget about this Emily drama and face your future with her, your child is growing inside her and she’ll need all the strength she can muster.”
It is then that it hits Louis for the second time that Katherine is not yet home, he quickly grabs his phone and calls her line but no one is answering it. Out of fear, he calls Jax.
“Hey Louis,” Jax says.
“Hi Jax, by any chance, did Katherine come by at your pack this morning?”
“Katherine? No, she’s never liked here anyway.”
Louis sighs, “She’s been missing since morning and she’s not picking up.”
“Something must be wrong. We found Freya dead this morning, she was stabbed in the stomach with a knife that had Stefan’s initials on it.”
“What the hell? I have to look for Katherine,” Louis hangs up immediately and begins to dress up.
“What’s going on?” Williams asks him.
“Something is wrong, Katherine is not supposed to be absent till this time and she’s not picking up. If something happens to her I’ll never forgive myself for it,” Louis cries.
His phone begins to ring, one of his random workers is calling him.
“What do you want now?” he growls when he picks up.
“Alpha, hurry to the down-site warehouse. We found something terrifying here, can’t say it on the phone.”
“Williams, let’s go to the down-site warehouse.”
“I thought that the place was sealed?” Williams ask.
“Yeah, but there was a little work that needed to be done there. come on let’s go.”
They go together to the warehouse but what Louis sees is not what he was expecting, Katherine’s body is lying on the floor. She is lifeless with blood coming out from her nose, what happened here?
At her side is a knife with Stefan’s initials on it. Louis almost collapses on seeing this, Katherine is dead and so is his child.
He falls to his needs, and Williams pats his shoulders soothingly. It is indeed a grievous time for the Alpha, he lost someone valuable to him.
“I never treated her right but she stuck with me, she loved me and gave me her best life. What have I done?” Louis wails.
“Alpha Louis, Katherine wouldn’t want you to sit here and cry like a baby. she wants you to stand and avenge her death, Stefan has crossed his limits this time around,” Williams says.
Louis is just devastated, not knowing what to do anymore. What if Emily is also dead? There was no way he would cope with that too, something had to be done immediately.
“Wrap her up, we’ll bury her instantly,” he orders. Then he calls Jax.
“Louis?”
“Katherine’s dead, she was pregnant too,” Louis says, fighting back the threatening tears.
“Oh my goodness! was it Stefan’s doing?”
“Yes, Stefan has crossed his limits this time around. Would you please come over so we could attend Katherine’s funeral?”
“Sure, I’ll be on my way.”
A Luna has to be buried within twenty-four hours of her death, Louis does not want to waste his time on it. His mind is made up that he’ll make plans to wage war on Stefan.
Jax arrives and the funeral is held, they gather for an important meeting.
“Stefan has overstepped his boundaries, he must be stopped,” Louis growls.
“We can’t let him roam about freely. Let’s make preparations for war, he must pay for his atrocities,” Iris says.
Stefan has taken something from each one of them, but Conrad still feels distraught about Freya’s death. He is relieved that the mate bond has been broken, he would face a lot of pain now. No greater pain than wondering if Emily is still alive or not.
“I agree with Iris, an army must be prepared for war. Stefan might strike us first but we have to ensure that we gain the upper hand in all of this,” Louis says.
“Let’s make plans for it then, I also want Stefan to go down in flames,” Conrad says.
Stefan has no right to take anyone’s life away, he did it in a day and still feels comfortable about it. He needed to be punished beyond his punishment.
“We are ready for war, Stefan,” Louis mutters.
His eyes darken as he thinks about it more, and if he finds out that Emily is dead, he’ll make sure he makes Stefan’s death a slow but painful one.
“No one should dare mess with me,” Louis growls lowly.
