Sarah covers her face as she sneaks out of the house, her sole aim is to meet with Freya and speak with her. Since she’s not dating Nox anymore, Freya has to leave the apartment and take refuge in an abandoned building with other homeless people. She can’t return to the pack training because Alpha Jax decided to dismiss all injured recruits and send them back home, Freya had to stay with Sarah because she had no other place to go to. The abandoned building stinks of alcohol and smells of people, Sarah holds her nose to stop herself from throwing up. She pities her friend, Freya, who found herself in such a situation.
Freya is squatting by a corner which, Sarah was grateful, wasn’t stinking like other places. She squatted beside her friend and removed her hoodie, so no one would notice who she was. Freya hugs Sarah tightly as tears drop down from her eyes.
“I’m sorry I failed to complete my task during the festival,” Freya sobs.
“Hey, it’s alright. You did well, it’s quite unfortunate that someone followed her behind after. Have you eaten?” Sarah asks with concern.
“I haven’t eaten since last night, why did Nox kick me out of the apartment?”
“Because I broke up with him, he took everything that he had done for me when we were dating,” Sarah tells her.
“But why?” Freya asks sadly.
“It doesn’t matter now, the competition will come to an end in no distant time and I’m sure that I’ll win. Once I win, our lives will change for the better. Right now, I want you to take this food and eat it. I got it from the pack’s kitchen and it’s still hot, go on and eat it now,” Sarah urges Freya.
Freya takes the food and hurriedly eats it because of how hungry she is. Sarah pats her head softly as she watches Freya eat fast to quench her hunger. Sarah tucks her hair in and watches as her friend-turned-sister looks so miserable.
“You know what, Freya? I’m going to win that competition. You deserve to be in a more prestigious condition and also with the man you love, I don’t care if Emily is deeply in love with Conrad but one thing I’m going to promise you is that I’ll make her lose him in a hard way,” Sarah says to Freya.
“Honestly, it hurts me to see them together and even happy. It makes me wonder if I don’t deserve my happiness at all, I’ve been through enough shit in my life and just when things are starting to get better, Emily shows up out of the blue and takes my man from me,” Freya recalls.
She is despicably angry that she is losing so much instead of gaining, Emily is seriously robbing her of her life and she is simply doing nothing about it. The plans she made with Sarah and was supposed to be carried out by her were eventually ruined by the man who had followed Emily behind. Freya wonders why he did not take advantage of her when he saw her unconscious, that was how the plan was supposed to go. But instead he helped Emily and she ended up losing the opportunity for her golden crown.
“I have much bigger and better plans for Emily, I am a hundred percent sure that this plan will work out this time around,” Sarah says huskily.
“What other plans do you have in mind, Sarah?”
“It’s quite simple, I’ll have to frame Emily for a crime and make Jax banish her from the pack. With this opportunity, you’ll be able to reconcile with Conrad and have him to yourself.”
Freya nods but her mind tells her that it’s quite simple to say but hard to do, her main priority is to get the beta back and be his mate officially. Sarah, the mastermind, seems to have a lot of plans running in her head. Freya decides to sit back and allow Sarah to do her thing, she will only make an appearance when the plans are successful to avoid ruining Sarah’s plan.
“Sarah, are you sure that this plan will be successful?” Freya asks a little doubt in her mind.
Sarah pats her calmly on her back as she gets up to leave, “It will work.”
Freya’s eyes tear up as she watches Sarah leave. Sarah has been the only person who stood by her through the tough times, she prays silently in her mind that her plans will be fulfilled successfully. Conrad will be hers and she will be happy again.
As Sarah sneaks back into the house, she is a bit surprised to see Regina coming out of Nox’s quarters. Curious to know what’s going on, Sarah goes to confront Regina.
“Regina, what are you doing here?” Sarah asks.
“What do you mean by that?” Regina retorts, she remembers all that Nox told her about his relationship with Sarah and how she betrayed him by turning up for this competition without his consent.
Sarah scoffs, “Did you think that flirting with the judge would make you win this competition?”
Regina rolls her eyes, “Who said I was flirting with the judge?”
Sarah grabs her arm, “If you’re not flirting with the judge, then tell me what you were doing in Nox’s room?”
Regina pushes her away, “Sarah, why are you so obsessed to know? Are you and Nox together or something?”
Sarah pauses for a moment, she recalls that her former relationship with Nox is a secret and her actions might make Regina suspect something. She calms herself down and takes a few steps backward from Regina, calculating her next words very carefully.
“Never mind, Regina. I was just thinking that you were having an affair with the judge and I was trying to raise concerns about your situation,” Sarah says brightly.
“Well, I’m fine so keep your concerns to yourself,” Regina spits before walking out on her.
