Book:Alpha’s Regret: Chasing My Rejected Mate Published:2024-6-4

The morning of the first day dawns, and the brides yawn lazily as they step down to the hall to take in their first classes. Sarah, who already is aware of how things are going to turn out, dresses up for exercise. Only a few others understand what she’s doing and follow her lead, the others put on their nighties to come down. Bill is the one handling the morning task, he is also dressed in sports clothes.
“Good morning, beautiful ladies,” Bill says to them.
“Good morning,” they reply.
“I know that some of you are excited about this morning’s task…”
“Yes!” some of them jump excitedly.
“If you’re excited, why are only a few of you putting on your sportswear? A strong and well-built Luna should be physically fit for exercise every morning,” Bill informs.
The others who are unlucky sigh regrettably. However, the Luna doesn’t need to be exercising every morning. The exercise is simply their first task, to ensure that the bride winner is physically fit with steady stamina.
A weakling can not be given the position of the Luna instead there will be no winner in the competition, the strength is a required part of the competition. Gold went as far as putting on heels early in the morning, thinking that her appearance would impress the Alpha.
Sarah is happy that she went through the manual before joining the competition, this will give her the upper hand to win the bride competition and marry Alpha Jax. She is also angry that some of her opponents also joined her to prep for the exercise, she swears to be more secretive about her activities and plans. If she is outsmarted by her opponents, she might end up losing this opportunity for life.
“Okay, let’s get on with it anyway. Your first task is running for fifteen minutes…”
“How am I going to run in heels?” Gold cries out.
“That’s your business, number two. There are three colored lines on the path; red, yellow, and green. You must be within the perimeter of these three colors to complete your task, anyone who does not make it to the color perimeter by fifteen minutes will be eliminated.”
They grumble and go to the set point. Bill takes out a flag and waves it in the air.
“On your mark… set ladies… go!”
The ladies set out with speed but those who are dressed in the wrong outfit eventually regret what they choose to wear. The person to stop is Gold, her heels break down due to the pressure applied to them. She falls flatly on the ground and cries her eyes out. Bill, pitying the young woman decides to cheer her up.
“You can do this, Number Two. Go!”
Like a speedy wind, the fifteen minutes elapse. The ladies go back to the living room to hear the announcement from Bill.
“I’m glad to announce that eight ladies made it and two unfortunate women will be eliminated, I want to congratulate those who wore impromptu outfits but still made it to one of the color perimeters. The two ladies to be eliminated are number two and number eight.”
Gold and Annah burst into tears upon hearing that they were eliminated in the first round, the others mock them silently as they go to their rooms to pack their bags. Sarah is surprised to see Nox in her room with a gloomy face.
“What in the name of the moon goddess are you doing here, Nox?” Sarah exclaims.
“I should be asking you this question, Sarah. What is my girlfriend doing in the bride competition for the Alpha’s Luna?” Nox retorts.
Sarah scoffs, “You had nothing to offer in our relationship, Nox.”
“I offered you everything I had; an apartment, a good life, a good job, a respectable position in the pack, I fed you alongside your homeless friend, Freya. What more did you need from me?”
“It wasn’t enough! I wanted to be a superior, to be known and feared by everyone in this pack and that’s exactly what I’m doing now. Once I win this competition, my life will change and my status included,” Sarah boosts.
Nox is disappointed in his girlfriend and her greediness for something that should never be hers, he thought that Sarah loved him but he was wrong.
“So what about our relationship?”
“I’m breaking up with you, Nox. I want to focus on this competition and win, you’ll only be a barrier if I continue to date you. Remember that you must not breathe a word about our relationship to anyone, if not I’ll hunt you down and eventually kill you.”
Nox is not scared of her threats, he’s only concerned that Sarah might do something stupid if she doesn’t get what she wants.
“Fine, I hope you win.”
He leaves her, heading to his quarters. He wonders why he’s not even bothered by her breakup, he thought that he would not survive without Sarah. But his heart is indifferent even after she broke up with him, it is then that a fresh scent hits his nose. The weirdest part of it is that it leads straight to his apartment, he opens the door to find one of the contestants there. The one who has flirted with him before.
“Mate!” his wolf screamed.
“Hi, I’m Regina,” she waves sweetly.
“I know your name, what are you doing here?” he asks.
“I came here because I found out that we are mates, Nox. Although I wasn’t eliminated today, I’m no longer interested in the competition. I just want to be with you,” she says.
Nox is surprised at how beautiful she is, more beautiful than Sarah herself. Now, he understands why he did not feel broken by her breakup, he found his mate. Without wasting time, Nox grabs her by her waist and slams his lips against hers. He takes off her clothes and lays her down on his bed, taking off his clothes too.
He mates with her and marks her officially as his mate.
“Regina, will you be my girlfriend?”
“Yes, Nox, I will.”
