Chapter Forty-Four
Alexander’s POV:
Dad and I got home safely, but he would not let me till I spoke with Eleanor.
“Eleanor,” I called.
“I need to speak to you,” I said.
“Oh my God, finally,” she said, running to me.
“Are you finally planning our wedding?” she said happily.
“Come off the imagination. I am here to talk business,” I told her.
“Okay,” she replied.
“Earlier on, you talked about having some conditions and without those you want to leave,” I told her.
“Marriage,” she said at once.
“No, not that,” I said.
“So, you mean that you are not going to marry me?” she asked, crying.
“Look, I am not ready for your shenanigans. You can find me when you need to talk,” I told her.
“No, no. Wait,” she said as she saw me already walking away.
“You want to know the conditions? Fine, you can sit,” she told me as I sat down.
“I need you to buy me a Lamborghini with a smart house,” she said.
“Particularly a four-bedroom duplex with an amazing back view,” she said, smiling sheepishly.
“What!” I exclaimed.
“That is a lot,” I said.
“I am not going to give you any of that, and you will have to leave,” I said and walked away.
“No, I am not. It is either we get married, or you get me the car and the house,” she said.
“Can you imagine what that witch requested from me?” I said angrily to Dad.
“What did she say?” Father asked.
“For a Lamborghini and a smart house,” I told him.
“Oh my God, now we cannot do anything to her, or we will be setting ourselves up,” Dad said.
“The ball is in your court, Alexander. Think your way out of this mess,” Dad told me.
“Why should it be me doing the job?” I asked him.
“You were going to get her poisoned and the tables turned. Now, you want me to fix this alone?” I asked Father.
“And you were the person that got her pregnant, else she would not be here in the first place,” Father fired back.
“What kind of mess have I found myself in?” I said quietly to myself, dejected.
Fiona’s POV:
Alexander and Uncle Victor asked me to take care of the company for some time, while they fix some things.
“Fiona,” I heard someone whisper my name as I got out of the vehicle.
“Why did you come here? Someone might see us together,” I told him as he pulled me aside.
“It felt like ages since I last saw you, so I had no choice but to stop by,” Whitman told me.
“I missed you too. But what you did here is too risky and could easily land you in trouble,” I scolded him.
“I can take any risk for you baby,” he said.
“I have to go before they notice my absence,” I told him and left.
Alexander POV:
I finally agreed to give Eleanor all that she requested.
“Here are the papers,” I handed them to Eleanor.
“The car and the house,” I added.
“Oh my God, you got them for me, Alex,” Eleanor said happily.
“You are so sweet, Alex,” Eleanor said.
“Hey, hey, stop,” I said as Eleanor tried to hug me.
“When are you leaving?” I asked her.
“Are you trying to throw me out, Alex?” she asked.
“I need you out of here by tomorrow and make sure you check those press people,” I told her and walked away.
“Dad, Eleanor will be leaving soon,” I announced.
“Wow!” Dad exclaimed.
“What did you do, or did she decide out of nowhere?” My father asked.
“No,” I replied.
“I got her all that she requested,” I told him.
“What!” he said.
“So, you mean you bought her a Lamborghini and a smart house?” Father said.
“Yes, I did,” I answered.
“Where did you get the money from, if I may ask?” Father asked me.
“From the company,” I replied.
“What have you done, Alex?” he asked me.
“What would I do? You were not willing to help me, so that was my only choice,” I said in my defense.
“This single action of yours is capable of getting the company bankrupt,” Dad said.
“I give you three months to get that money back into the company’s purse,” Dad said.
“Do anything to make that money within this period, Alex, or else,” Father said as he walked out on me.
Fiona’s POV:
“Sis,” I heard someone say behind me.
It was Eleanor.
“Hey!” I said and hugged her.
“Guess what?” she said happily.
“He got me all that I asked him for,” she said happily.
“Oh my God,” I said.
“Are you serious?” I asked with surprise.
“Yeah, look at them,” she said, showing me the paper.
“You ate this role, sis,” I told her happily.
“You can say that again,” I told her.
“Yikes, this is a lot of money,” I said on seeing the paper.
“This is capable of making their whole company go bankrupt,” I said.
“I was going to tell you this. What happened yesterday was a little overboard,” I said.
“Why did you spill the drink?” I asked her.
“You went a little overboard, you know,” I told her.
“I did not plan to. I was only trying to be a little extra. I meant no harm,” Eleanor told me.
“Yes, I trust you,” I told her.
“Let’s bring these people down together. Their cups are filled up already,” she told me.
“I will see you before you leave tomorrow,” I said, and I hugged her before leaving.
“I agree,” I said, nodding my head.
“Hello, babe,” I said on seeing Alexander.
“So, once you leave this house, you go around frolicking with other men,” he said.
“What do you mean, babe?” I asked as he slapped me across the face.
“Don’t you lie to me! What is this?” he asked, showing me photos on his phone.
“I thought you wanted to see us work. Now, what is the meaning of this?” he questioned again.
“I did not go to meet him, he did,” I said in defense.
“This would be the last time that you would step your foot out of this house and as for him, I have dealt with him already,” Alexander said, referring to Whitman.
