Chapter Forty-Three
Fiona’s POV:
We later got home after being at the hospital, but Alexander stayed behind.
“I guess the wedding will not be held this weekend again,” Mother said.
“Yeah,” I replied.
“That means we would have to return to our home,” Mother told me.
She was referring to herself and Thomas.
“I wish you both could stay here forever. I am going to miss you all,” I said again.
“No, you won’t, you seem to be very happy here,” Mother said.
“Yes,” I answered.
“But it feels like you are forcing it, Fiona,” Mother said.
“Talk to me if you do not want to be here and I will do everything in my power to get you out of here,” Mother said.
“Oh, Mother,” I said, sighing.
“I feel very safe here. Besides, this is probably where I would be staying for the rest of my life,” I told her.
“I would be fine, trust me,” I said, encouraging her.
“If you say so,” Mother said.
“You need to find out from Alexander if the wedding will still take place,” Mother told me.
“Sure,” I replied.
“But not now. He is still trying to see his father recover,” I said to her.
Alexander got home the next day and he told me that his attention was needed at the police station.
“But why?” I asked him.
“The cops said that Ken said he wants to speak with me immediately,” he told me.
“Wow, after he almost poisoned that lady?” I asked.
“I am going to come with you,” I told him, and he agreed with me.
We were at the police station in no time, and we met Ken immediately.
“Why do you want to see me?” Alexander asked him.
“I wanted to tell you to get me out of here immediately,” Ken told him.
“Wow!” Alexander said giggling with contempt.
“After hurting my father by your actions, you dare ask me, no, you are ordering me to let you out of here?” Alexander said.
“You know, I don’t even care about who you tried to poison but with my father involved in this, you are going to rot here,” Alexander said as he stood up to leave.
“Then I will tell the whole world how your father gave me that poison to put on Eleanor’s drink and other atrocities he has done,” Ken said.
“You would do no such thing. Except you do not want to come off out of here alive,” Alexander threatened him.
“Let’s get out of here,” Alexander told me and we left.
Alexander’s POV:
“It would have been nice if Dad eliminated Ken from the game before I helped him,” I said to myself.
“He has caused enough problems already,” I said again.
“First, it was Eleanor, now, it is Ken,” I lamented.
“And I think it is all Eleanor’s fault, that girl is just crazy,” I told myself.
“Hello, Alex,” Eleanor said to me.
“Just go away. You have caused me enough trouble already,” I told her.
“Oh. So, you want me to leave you alone?” she asked.
“Yes, and I never said that I wanted you,” I fired back at her.
“For your information, I am not going anywhere because I am here to stay,” she said.
“And I am getting married to you,” she added.
“Argh!” I exclaimed and left.
Fiona’s POV:
I sat in the living room to watch TV when the news came up. It says:
“Victor Harrington lands in the hospital after two women fight over marrying his son,” It said.
“Two women,” I said.
“This is ridiculous,” I told myself.
“How did this story get to the media?” Alexander said behind me.
“Argh!” he said.
“All because of one person. You are going to leave this mansion, Eleanor,” he said out loud.
“I am not going anywhere, even if I leave, I have conditions attached to it. Not one but conditions,” Eleanor said yelling at him.
She was right behind him.
“I do not care about your conditions, but I am going to get you out of this house whether you like it or not,” he retorted.
“Oh wow. Then get ready to hear revelations about yourself by the media,” Eleanor told him.
“You did not see me coming, I guess,” Eleanor told him.
Alexander’s POV:
I got to the hospital the next day and Dad was already set to be discharged.
“I’m happy to see you recover, Dad,” I said.
“Besides, you need to come back home. That woman is going to drive me crazy very soon,” I said, referring to Eleanor.
“Oh God. Do not tell me that Eleanor is still in that house,” Father said.
“Why are you wasting time? You need to act fast Alex,” Father warned me.
“Sometimes I feel like throwing her out of the house but then, press people are already on the matter,” I explained to him.
“Oh my God. How did you let that happen?” Dad asked.
“I don’t even know how it happened and Ken has been arrested by the cops,” I broke the news to him.
“Oh my God,” Dad said as he became restless.
“Why did you let that happen?” he asked me.
“I called the cops on Eleanor, but Ken was arrested instead after she said that he gave her the drink,” I explained.
“Do you know the gravity of what you have done, Alex?” Father asked.
“That boy Alex can sell us out when he feels threatened,” Father said.
“You need to act fast,” he added.
“He even asked to see me, and he threatened that if I did not get him out, he would expose us,” I said.
“You see, you have to find a way out, Alex,” he said again.
“But what am I supposed to do?” I asked him.
“Think, Alex, think,” Father told me.
“What if Eleanor involved the media? You need to handle that woman and you need to do it fast,” Father told me.
“You remember she said something about that, and she said that if I wanted her to leave me then, she had conditions,” I told Father.
“Go meet her and make her tell you the conditions. You do not have enough time, son,” he advised.
“I will Dad, but we need to get you home first,” I replied.
