Chapter Forty-One
Fiona’s POV:
It was Mother and Thomas. They were sitting right in front of me.
“Mother,” I said happily as I hugged her.
“I am delighted to see you,” Mother said as she hugged me.
“I missed you so much, big sister,” Thomas also said.
“What did they do to you?” Mother asked me.
“Do to me?” I emphasized.
“Yes,” Mother affirmed.
“They have been all good to me,” I told her.
“Besides, the only thing I can complain of is how nice I have been treated since I got here,” I explained to her.
“Are you sure?” Thomas asked.
“Yes, Thomas,” I replied.
“I do not know why I feel you are being coerced to say these things,” Thomas said.
“Not at all, Thomas,” I said giggling.
“Besides, he got me a new phone,” I told them.
“You guys have nothing to worry about,” I said, smiling from ear to ear.
Alexander’s POV:
“What kind of game are you trying to play here?” Father asked me.
“What do you mean, Dad?” I asked him confused.
“Why are those people here?” he asked me.
“You Thomas and the woman?” I asked.
“Yes,” Father answered me.
“Fiona wanted to see them. She begged me to see them,” I replied.
“Besides she seemed to be missing them ever since I took her phone from her,” I explained.
“That was a good move but having them come here is a big no from me,” Father said.
“It would have been best if you had cut her off entirely from them,” Father advised.
“No Dad,” I disagreed.
“Besides they are not here to stay, and Fiona is ready to make things work between the two of us,” I told him.
“I hope so,” Father said.
Fiona asked if her family could stay with us till the wedding day.
“No,” I told her.
“But why?” she begged me.
“You only asked to see them,” I replied.
“Please, you know you always go to work every morning with Uncle. Staying here all by myself is so boring,” I begged.
“Okay.” I finally agreed.
“Thank you, babe,” she said happily and pecked me.
“Hm!” Dad sighed.
He was behind us the whole time.
“Is everything okay, Dad?” I asked him.
“Seems you loved Fiona even before she agreed to be your wife,” Father said.
“I think we are just trying to make things work,” I told him.
“If you say so,” Father said.
Uncle Victor’s POV:
I was resting in the evening when a voice yelled my son’s name.
“Alexander!” I heard the voice call Alexander’s name multiple times.
“Come and face me, you coward,” the voice said.
I quickly went outside my room, to see who was trying to cause a nuisance.
“Eleanor,” I muttered.
It was Alexander’s ex-girlfriend, Eleanor.
“Eleanor!” I called her.
“What is the problem?” I asked her.
“I am pregnant with his child,” Eleanor said, referring to Alexander.
“What!” I exclaimed.
“He has refused to pick up my call. abandoning me,” she said crying.
“Calm down,” I pacified her.
“Come with me,” I said.
“What happened? Tell me everything he did to you,” I told her.
“We were already planning our wedding when he called to tell me that he was not interested in the relationship anymore,” Eleanor said.
“I thought he was joking at first because we had no problem before that,” she said again.
“Before then, I found out that I was pregnant but kept it a secret although I was going to tell him later,” she continued.
“I told him, and he told me never to disturb him again, he blocked me and since then refused to talk to me even if I tried,” Eleanor narrated.
“It is okay,” I told her.
“I will send it to him,” I told her.
“What are you doing here?” Alexander interrupted our conversation.
“Sit, Alex,” I commanded him.
“But Dad,” he tried to talk.
“Eleanor said you dumped her after she told you she was pregnant,” I said.
“That is a lie, she is just trying to trap me,” Alexander defended himself.
“You are lying, you know that” Eleanor yelled at me.
“I am not lying. You have been with multiple men now you are trying to accuse me falsely,” I told her.
“Are you kidding me? You know that I was faithful to you throughout our relationship,” Eleanor said.
“That is not my concern. I am done with you and that is final,” Alexander said.
“You better not be because that wedding of yours will never hold,” Eleanor threatened.
“It has not gotten to that,” I begged her.
“She cannot do anything, Dad. They are just empty threats,” Alexander told me and left for his room.
“You would see everything crumble before you, if you do not get married to me, Alexander,” Eleanor threatened.
“Eleanor, you should rest a little. We will resume this discussion later,” I told her.
“Alexander!” I called him.
“Why did you let your guard down?” I asked him in his room.
“Dad, I did not know how that happened,” he replied.
“You should have protected your dream of becoming the CEO. Now look,” Dad lamented shaking his head.
“How do you get married now with Eleanor in the house?” Father asked himself.
“She cannot disrupt my wedding,” Alexander said in defense.
“Don’t be stupid. That woman there is capable of doing anything to bring you down if you go against her wishes,” I schooled him.
“You should be thinking of how to maneuver this problem,” I told him.
“I guess you are aware that you cannot get married to two women,” I cautioned him.
“And you are not going to get married to Eleanor. Fiona has to be your wife,” I reminded him.
“I guess the baby she is carrying is the cause of all these problems,” I said.
“I would find a way around this. Trust me,” I assured him.
“What are you planning to do, Dad?” Alexander asked me.
“I thought you were not interested,” I said.
“No Dad, I was just livid,” he said.
“I would handle this,” I said again.
“But I need the help of Ken. I know he has been following you around,” I told him.
“This is the only way that he has to get him out of my hands,” I said.
