Chapter Twenty-Eight
Alexander’s POV:
I went to the doctor’s office in a rush.
“I do not think my father feels safe here. Maybe he would feel safer at home,” I told the doctor.
“But he is still recovering,” the doctor told me.
“Yes, I know. Maybe we can make arrangements for treatment at home,” I said.
“Fine. But you would have to sign this document to show that you consented to this,” the doctor said as he stretched forth a piece of paper.
“This is to keep the hospital out of any trouble in the future,” the doctor added.
“Okay,” I signed and left the office.
We left the hospital immediately and headed home. Dad felt so restless throughout the journey.
“Are you sure you are, okay?” I asked him.
“Yeah,” he answered uninterestedly.
“Or we could have just stayed back?” I asked him again.
“Alexander, stop asking me tons of questions and drive. You need to focus,” he told me, cutting me short.
“I am sorry,” I said as we continued the journey in silence.
“Who are these people?” I said as I pulled up in front of the house.
“Oh, no,” Dad said from the backseat.
“Who are these people Dad?” I asked him as I saw a group of men dressed in black hoodies with their faces fully covered.
“Get off that vehicle, Victor,” A man said as he got off the vehicle.
“Go get him,” he told the others as they took Father out of the vehicle.
“Don’t you dare touch him,” I told them as I tried to resist but they overpowered me and took Father in their vehicle and drove off.
“No…” I screamed as they took off. I felt like a failure as I watched them leave.
I could not even protect him.
Fiona’s POV:
“Hi, nurse. You didn’t even get to introduce yourself well,” I said as I got into the room.
“I guess that is your name,” I said pointing at the tag on her shirt.
“Yes,” she said, shy.
“I am Fiona,” I said, extending my hands for a handshake.
“Jessica,” she said as she took my hands.
“Please, be comfortable, feel comfortable,” I added.
“If you need anything, you can talk to me or my Mum,” I said as I left the room.
“I can see you are both bonding really quick,” Mum said as I got to the living room.
“Yeah, kind of,” I replied.
“I do not think she is bad. It seems that she is just a shy person and was nervous earlier,” I told her.
“I told you,” she answered me.
“I miss watching TV. Let’s see what they have got today,” I said as I switched on the TV.
“Yo! Mum. You have got to see this,” I told Mum, distracting her from her phone.
“What is it?” she asked me.
“Look at this,” I said pointing at the TV.
“Oh my God!” Mother said, surprised.
“Why the shock? Besides, he deserves everything he is getting,” I told her.
“Hmm. Victor Harrington? Kidnapped?” Mother said to herself.
“Interesting… who would have thought that Victor Harrington would ever be kidnapped with the way he prides himself,” she added.
“Yes. I heard he was kidnapped on his way back from the hospital after he collapsed,” I said.
“Oh,” she muttered as she walked away.
Uncle Victor’s POV:
I saw myself in an almost dark warehouse. Everywhere looked deserted.
“Where are you all?” I shouted.
“Why am I here?” I said again.
“Oh. Victor,” I heard someone say from behind.
“Why are you acting like a toddler? You need to be quiet,” the voice said, and it sounded familiar, but I could not decipher.
“What? You?” I said in disbelief as I saw the person.
“Surprised to see me?” he asked with a scornful smile.
“How did you get back? I watched you die, Damian,” I said pointing at him.
“Oh, you thought you did but you didn’t,” he said.
“Remember I told you to watch your back because I would be coming for you,” he said.
“I left your son out of this because I am not vile like you,” he said again.
“You killed my father after you two made a lot of profit, out of greed,” Damian said as he slapped me across the face.
“Years later, you came back for me after you felt that I would be a threat to you. But here we are,” he said giggling.
“You better kill me, else if I get out of here, I will turn you into mincemeat,” I told him.
“Oh, please. Do not think about it. At least, not now,” he told me.
“Even if you would not be alive,” he said giggling.
“Then do it immediately, you coward. Kill me now,” I told him barking.
“No, not now,” he answered me.
“That would not come easily, you know,” he said.
“I would watch you die, Victor,” he said as he left the building.
Alexander’s POV:
I rushed out of the vehicle to the nearest police station to make a report.
“I need to make a report. My father just got kidnapped today,” I told the police officer I met behind the counter.
“Okay. Follow me,” he said as I obeyed.
“He needs to make a report about a kidnap,” he told the police officer we met.
“She would be handling your case,” he told me, and he left us there.
“My father got kidnapped today on our way back from the hospital,” I started.
“They alighted from a vehicle with their faces fully covered,” I narrated without being told to do so.
“Okay, we will look into this immediately and we will keep in touch,” she said.
“Thank you, Officer Jasmine,” I said as I saw her name on her shirt.
I left the police station to go home but I could not. I was scared of staying at home, all by myself, so I decided to stay at a hotel for some time.
“I hope Dad is okay anywhere those people have taken him to,” I told myself in silence.
“It has been close to 24 hours, and I have not heard a word from the police station,” I told myself wondering.
“I will be there first thing tomorrow morning,” I told myself as I fell asleep.
