Book:The Mafia’s Secretary Published:2024-6-4

Theressa was firm in her decion to leave.
Marcelo wanted Theressa ruined, wanted her to submit to him, to crave for him, obey him. But that was then. That was when he saw Theressa as a toy, when he cared not about her safety, when he cared not about her feelings, her wellbeing, her everything. That was when he had no soft spot for Theressa, when he saw her as an object just like his past toys.
Now his heart is shattered, watching Theressa walk away from him, like a breeze and he couldn’t stop her, her face faced him and she paused. For a minute his heart blossomed at the thought of Theressa changing her mind but she didn’t, she walked out of his office, out of his company, out of his life.
Marcelo felt a rush of emotions, sadness, annoyance, rage.
His heart burned, he was angry, angry at Theressa for leaving him, angry at himself for being affected it.
Everything was almost how he wanted it, he never planned to Theressa to stayby his side. And so he made it his goal to destroy her but at the moment he is one being destroyed, he had dug his pit, his mind was swirling with thoughts, with memories, every of his thoughts was centered on Theressa.
He couldn’t work, the words written on the paper work suddenly seemed foreign, he had no interest in doing anything. The urge to chase after Theressa, after his kitten grew more and more every passing second, every ticking time.
The day went by and Marcelo was trying to pull himself from the thoughts of Theressa, he swirled the glass filled with whiskey, his body seated but mind far away as wondered what Theressa would be doing. He had pushed her so hard she didn’t care about money anymore, she just wanted to out of his life.
“Sir… I think you should see this” Marcelo was sober enough to recognise his bodyguard “Say what you want and make it quick” Marcelo ordered, not having the energy to fix any problem at the moment.
Kayden approached Marcelo, a tab in his hand displaying a flower shop. Marcelo who’s brow knitted.
“And what’s this for?” Marcelo questioned, trying to be patient with Kayden.
“This is where Miss Taylor works sir” Kayden stated, drawing Marcelo’s attention, his position finally upright as he sat up to listen to his headbody guard.
Kayden…Kayden, Marcelo never trusted anyone not even Kayden but Marcelo would admit Kayden was the best staff he had and the closest to a family.
Marcelo clearly remember the first day he was introduced to the five year old orphan by his mother.
His mother would make comments like; they had a lot in common but they never saw it, they never noticed how their quietness was unusual for a kid their age, how they disliked associating with people and how they barely let out a genuine smile.
Marcelo could clearly recall after his mother’s death how Kayden was desperate to find the killer, he never knew what went on in that room till years later, when there was a replay of those scene, with someone he loved, someone he cherished Kayden’s sister. Though they were able to save her unlike Marcelo’s mother, Kayden was placed in the same shoes.
Marcelo was determined to find the pepertrator and he did. Since rhe Kayden vowed to devote his life to Marcelo, to work only for Marcelo.
To Kayden Marcelo was his master.
Marcelo had followed Kayden’s suggestions as Kayden drove him to the yet to be open store. Therssa’s mother’s store Theressa’s name was written boldly on it.
Kayden had given him a suggestion befitting to his personality, his joy to crush and destroy whatever was placed in his hands but as he watched Theressa and her mother, Their hands intertwined as they smiled at the flower store proudly, Marcelo couldn’t bring himself to do it, he couldn’t bring himself to destroy what they seemed proud to have achieved.
That smile on Therssa’s face, he loved it, he loved the way her lips flattened as her eyes almost sparkled he loved Theresa’s smile and he wanted to keep it, to keep that smile on her face.
He watched through the tinted windows of his car as Theressa and her mother finally begun to leave, to walk away from the store.
“Sir should I call them?” Kaydem asked from the driver seat.
“No” Marcelo didn’t waste time disagreeing with his idea.
“Let’s just leave her” Marcelo said, his gaze following the mother and daughter
“Sir, there’s something you need to know” Kayden began suspense filling the car and Marcelo turned to Kayden as
Theressa was no longer in sight.
“About you and Teddy?” Marcelo blurted.
Kayden froze, and Marcelo almost smiled at his reaction, it was fun seeing Kayden this way.
“Sir-” Kayden started but was interrupted by his boss.
“You both are pretty bad at hiding things and try to keep your sex life private, no one is interested in watching your porn’ Marcelo teased, a smile playing on his lips.
Kayden suddenly recalled the CCTV camera’s there were hidden camera’s and he had totally forgotten. He never had sex with Teddy at workplace but that day was too intense to ignore their desires. Kayden’s head fell in shame in revalidation someone, his boss had seen him have sex.
“Just don’t collide and try to get at me” Marcelo warned.
Marcelo had known that was the reason Theressa was able to blackmail Kayden and his house address. Teddy was his weak point Just as Therssaa.
How could he have brought Theressa into his dark world? Marcelo regrets it
“Sir should we get going?” Kayden asked. There was no reason to stay in the dark dimly lit street. He had gotten a glimpse of Therssa and he was somewhat satisfied
“Yes” Marcelo responded to Kayden’s question it became a routine for almost a month, Marcelo would free up his evenings to come watch Theressa exit the store.
Theressa was like his drug, he couldn’t go a day without her.
He would sometimes order for flowers he knows nothing about, or he would send a random person to pick it up and his heart blossom at the proud smile she would have on her face while she attendedbtiba customer.
And most days when a customer was disturbing he would have to hold himself back from rushing out of his car and crossing to beat up the unreasonable customer.
Just like every other day, Marcelo had come to watch Theressa was sclosing the store and Marcelo watched through her tinted windows, however something seemed strange Marcelo wasn’t the only one following Theressa, someone else was, someone who he recognised as the figure waited in the car opposite him, waiting for the right time to attack, waiting for the right time to kill his kitten as Theressa plugged her ears, waiting for the pedestrian light to go on before she crossed, her steps slow as the car made its move and Marcelo didn’t hesitate to hit the pedal, not caring if the person was an important tool of his, with high speed he cared not about his safety as he went on to smash the car before it got to Therssa, pushing the car faraway from Theressa.
However, Karma had go him,
He was bleeding, his vison blurry as he couldn’t make out anything or anyone, except…
Except Theressa, except his kitten who had recognized him, who tried to pull him from the confines of his car.
But it was too late, his vision giving up, his body gave up on him as his ear were the only part of him that was still conscious and all he could hear was siren sounds and the cries of his kitten.
