~Maya’s POV~
My already swollen eyes hurt from the bright light that was coming in through the window, and I let out a low groan in response. After kicking off the blankets, I got out of bed and went straight to the bathroom to shower. I have no idea how Zion manages to pull it off, but running a successful business is no easy feat. I focused on relaxing and letting the water take care of everything else. I really, really miss Zion’s touches, and right now I’m so hot it’s not even funny. “Well, your father and I are taking things slow, but as you insist, I will go on a date with him.” I went over to her and gave her a hug.
“I’m delighted that the two of you are willing to give love a shot.” I finally managed to break the hug, and I sat down to eat. “What do we have here? I have very little time to eat.”
“So you can go to the hospital and suck your husband?” I was unable to breathe properly and began violently hacking up my food as my cheeks became red.
“What!” She hurried over to me and immediately began to pet the back of my head.
“Well, we all know the reason Zion is still hanging in there. And we also know the reason why he didn’t give up that day.” I let out another hacking cough.
“Emma!”
“What, we are a family. I must say. You and your husband’s sex life are very interesting.” I started chowing down pretty quickly so that I could get away from talking about this subject.
“Who else knows about this?”
“Well, us the elders, no one else. We all know by now that Zion is a horny man. We make fun of him all the time, and we are secretly hoping that he will return so that we can have some good laughs at his expense.”

After finishing the last of the juice in my glass, I dashed outside to get some fresh air. Leaving Emma astonished. I mean, they knew what I had been doing, but how? I became as red as a teenager when I flushed. When I reached my car, my driver looked at me, all surprised.

“Yes, to the hospital,” I said, hiding my guilt.
Upon my arrival at the hospital, I was greeted by the sight of my husband in an unconscious state, with his chest rising and falling in rhythm with his breathing.

I got into the backseat of my car and said to the driver,
“Take me to Martin’s cooperation.”
He didn’t ask any questions, he just drove. I haven’t been to their firm before. I have no idea what to anticipate, but I am quite well prepared for them. Today is the day that I shall find out whether my assumption was correct. But at this point, I can only think of one person who could be responsible. Mishka and Lucas are suspecting Kelly’s brothers, but I am suspecting someone who tried to buy shares in my company immediately after he heard I took over the Archer Group. The man thought I was stupid and couldn’t see what was going in and out of my company.
Ha! He has another thing coming. I may not have run a company before, but I am well alert when it comes to something that my husband and family worked hard for.
As soon as I walked through the doors of Martin’s cooperative, I made my way to the receptionist. Lucas cautioned me about coming here by myself, but I am making this sacrifice for the sake of my family. An alert tone sounded on my phone just as I was about to initiate a conversation with the receptionist. I got my phone out of my pocket to see if there was a message.
Lucas: I’m sorry Maya. I wouldn’t let you go to the lion’s den alone. If I place something in your bag, don’t worry. Even if the person searching you used every investigative tool available, they would not be able to discover it. I will be standing outside waiting for you. Just in case you need me. I promise to protect you and I’m doing my job. I’m sorry.
How did that sneaky man know I was going to Martin’s cooperation?
I put on a pleasant face and politely asked to speak with the company’s president. The woman flashed a friendly grin before placing a call to who appeared to be the president.
“Um, your name, Ma’am.” I flashed her a grin and confidently spoke to her.
“Lady Archer.”
She immediately began to apologize and came quite close to kissing my feet. I’m sorry, but that’s the truth. This Archer’s name is a key that unlocks doors for you, whether you’re in danger or not.
“This way, please.” The lady said as she escorted me to an elevator. After entering the elevator, I proceeded to stroll toward the president’s office before entering his office. I was subjected to a search at the entrance of the president’s office.
Well, even if they find Lucas’ device, I came prepared.
