In fact, when Aubree dared to ask, she was ninety-nine per cent sure that Sidney Hudson didn’t have a messy reason for adopting her, but there was still that one per cent of uncertainty that made her feel scared.
She wondered, what reason could there be for a big guy like him to adopt her? What use could she have as a child without parents?
His dark eyes abruptly averted somewhat, and the entire room was filled with a dark and depressing atmosphere.
“Why are you suddenly asking this?” Sidney pretended to be unresponsive with just the usual tone of voice.
“Nothing. I just suddenly wanted to ask.” Aubree was so nervous that she was trembling. She was expecting his answer, and she did not dare to relax completely.
“Silly girl, from now on, you should not listen to the nonsense that Kaitlyn tells you.” Sidney’s heart felt like it was being pinched hard, and when he opened his mouth, the pain was excruciating, yet he still had to act like it didn’t matter.
She was slightly relieved. But as soon as she heard the word Kaitlyn, she instantly remembered the scene where Kaitlyn deliberately made things difficult for her. Her pretty brow furrowed, and she opened her big watery eyes and looked at Sidney, saying, “Uncle Sidney, is she going to live here all the time?”
He doted on her head, “Since you don’t like her, then don’t let her live here.”
“But she’s your girlfriend. It’s not very nice of you to treat her like this for my sake.”
“I’ll send her away now.” Sidney could not bear to look at Aubree face with aggravation.
It was just one night today, no matter what, he wanted to make her unhappy.
For the last night, he wanted to be alone with her.
He went downstairs without a word, grabbed Kaitlyn’s arm and headed out.
“Hey! Sidney! Where are you taking me?” Kaitlyn didn’t even have time to react to what was happening. She was confused, but when she looked at his expression, it didn’t look like he was angry, what had happened!
“You’re hurting me! You” Before she could finish her sentence, Sidney threw her into the passenger seat and got into the car himself.
“I have so many houses, take your pick.” Sidney gestured for Steward Martin to bring a list of properties, with pictures and addresses.
Only then did she understand that he was sending her out, “I’ll live here. I’m not going anywhere!”
“I am your girlfriend, Sidney. Is it appropriate for you to treat me like this?”
“Because of a little kid, you’re doing this to me.”
He suddenly overturned himself from the driver’s seat and propped himself up with his left hand, almost pressing down on her.
“You know me. Can you be a little more understanding?” Sidney’s heart was already bursting with anger, but he held it back.
Kaitlyn was taken aback by his sudden movement. She was so overwhelmed by the charming and noble scent of his body that she didn’t even think about it and said, “Then you kiss me.”
His left hand behind her head burst out with veins, his eyes gradually moved to her lips, and then bit down hard.
She had loved it when he was rough, and when she had just tried to reach out her arms to wrap around his neck, he avoided.
“Alright, pick a place to stay first. I’ll go back to keep you company when I’m done for the next few days.” Sidney started the car and stepped on the accelerator, not giving her a chance to regret.
“Hey! No! My luggage is still up there!” Kaitlyn was startled by his driving skills and immediately reacted.
“Someone will send it over to you.”
“No, I want to buy it again.” She picked a house with a decoration style she liked better.
Sidney had nothing to say all the way. He sent her to the place, and without even getting his feet off the ground, he went back in a hurry.
For now, he will have less time to spend alone with Aubree . So he must come back quickly to be with her.
It was raining, and she was lying under her blanket playing with her mobile phone when a sudden flash of lightning struck, her hand trembled and almost dropped her mobile phone on the floor. She climbed off the bed and pulled the curtains quickly.
It had been a long time since there had been thunder and lightning. She went downstairs to wait for Sidney and happened to see him enter the entrance hall.
“Uncle Sidney, there was lightning just now, just outside the window, it was close,” Aubree daintily went down the stairs, grunting, “It was super scary.”
He went up and picked her up, “Okay, I’ll sleep with you tonight.”
She looked at him in surprise. She had just laid the groundwork and hadn’t gotten to the real purpose, “Really?”
“Of course.” Sidney scratched her little nose and carried her back to the bedroom.
“Aubree, in future, when there are thunder and lightning, learn to overcome this fear. I’m not by your side every day, do you hear me?” Sidney had been exhausted these past few days, but he didn’t want to close his eyes.
Because if he did, all the pasts would turn into ashes, and all the happiness and beauty would be nothing.
She burrowed into his arms, her mouth was full of smiles, “I want to be with Uncle Sidney for the rest of my life. That’s my greatest wish.”
His arm around her tightened. He said in a low voice, “Well, it’s also my wish.”
