After saying that, she walked straight to Sydney’s car.
She got into the car feeling depressed. In the past, seeing Sydney she used to throw herself at him happily, but not this time.
Seeing her being in that state, Sydney felt a little uncomfortable. However, he had just seen why she was being like that; it was because of the necklace.
He reached out to stroke her head but she avoided him.
Sydney couldn’t help but smile quietly. He took out a small delicate looking gift box and stretched his hand in front of Aubree.
“Idiot! Is there anything in the world that you want but can’t get?”
He opened the box. Inside, there was a similar necklace with letters on it. However, this one only had two letters M & E.
This necklace looked way more exquisite and expensive. Aubree’s eyes lit up for a moment as she was pleasantly surprised, but it lasted only for a moment.
“Uncle Sydney, it’s not the same…” She looked at the necklace, still unhappy.
“Huh?”
“That one was given to me by a friend, this is given by you. That was the first present that I received from a friend, it is different than you giving it to me now.”
Sydney didn’t pay attention to her words. He just picked up the necklace and placed it around her neck.
“This is not the same. It has ME written on it.” Sydney tone was very soft, but his words held extraordinary significance.
“Me?” Aubree looked at him with her bright eyes wide.
“Not you! Me.” Sydney pronounced each word clearly with a little pause.
It was not Aubree, it was Sydney.
Aubree was taken aback for a moment, then she relaxed and exhaled. After thinking about it for a long time, she softly touched it with her hand. A slight smile appeared at the corner of her lips.
“Aubree and Uncle Sydney…” Words fell out her mouth without thinking.
She could never understand Sydney’s feelings. For Aubree, Sydney was the closest and most reliable person in her life, someone she could never live without.
However, what Aubree was for Sydney… could not be said out loud.
“Aubree, there’s a wedding in B country in some days. Do you want to go?”
Aubree, who was still immersed deep into the meaning behind the necklace, answered without thinking, “Okay.”
It took her a little while to react; she was shocked, “You want to take me to B country.”
Sydney nodded lightly, indicating that she had heard it right.
“Are you really going to take me to B country?” Aubree couldn’t believe her ears. She suddenly felt as if she had received too many surprises today.
In the past, every time Sydney went abroad for business trips, Aubree always used to beg him to take her with him but he always refused. Now, he actually asked her himself if she wanted to go. Of course, she was going to say yes!
“But you have to heal your injury first, otherwise…” Sydney gave her a threatening look.
“Yes, yes!” Of course, Aubree promised quickly, “As long as you really take me abroad with you, I can promise anything!”
Sydney’s warm loving gaze made her fill up with warmth as if she was in a hot tub, making her want to sink in and enjoy.
“By the way, Uncle Sydney, there’s one more thing I want to say.” Her face fell again.
“What is it?”
“I was sent out by a teacher in the middle of an exam, I didn’t have time to finish the exam. I might not be able to get into A University.”
Sydney hummed lightly. He was worried about what she was going to say, it turned out to be such a trivial thing.
“Uncle Sydney, if I go to B University, I will be far away from you…”
When he did not respond, Aubree felt nervous, thinking that he was angry with her.
“Do you want to go to A University?” Sydney asked.
She nodded. After all, being so close to her house, it was naturally her first choice.
“You will get in, trust me!”
“You just focus on healing properly and don’t think about the exams anymore, okay?”
Sydney comforted her. Her grades had always been top-notch, so she certainly can get into A University. He wasn’t planning on ever doing such a thing. However, the cause of the issue was so unusual that he naturally decided to help her.
Her going to A University was very easy for him to arrange.
