She gave Aubree a hard look and turned to leave.
Riley helped Aubree to sit down in the exam room and then went to his exam room.
But Aubree didn’t expect that Pippa was in the same room as her. She sat in the first few rows of Pippa’s room.
During the exam, Pippa suddenly raised her hand for some unknown reason. She called the teacher over, whispered something in his ear, and then pointed at Aubree.
The teacher then approached Aubree and said, “Come out with me.”
Aubree was answering the questions. She looked at her paper and saw that she still had some questions left to write. The end time was approaching. She was hesitant.
When the teacher saw that she was not moving, he became serious and said, “Hurry up.”
She had to put down the pen in her hand and followed the teacher out.
“Take off your necklace and bracelet. I’ll confiscate it.”
“Why?” Aubree was puzzled. She wasn’t cheating.
“The entrance exam is very strict. You can’t bring anything in that can be cheated. Take these off and bring them to me for testing. If they’re tampered with, you are considered to have cheated.”
Aubree didn’t expect a necklace to be suspected of cheating. She took off the necklace and bracelet reluctantly and handed it to the teacher.
“Can I get it back after the test?” Aubree asked.
“The bell has rung. This exam is over.”
Aubree panicked. She hadn’t finished her paper! Why was that?
She looked to the teacher as if asking for help. With tears in her eyes, she said, “Teacher, can you give me a few minutes? Please …”
The teacher ignored her and began to collect the papers.
She sat down quickly. Before the teacher had collected her paper, she was able to write a few more words.
“You deserve it!” Pippa gloated in the back, “Aren’t you the good student everyone says you are? I’d like to see you lose face if you don’t get into A University.”
Aubree frowned and wrote quickly, but the paper was suddenly pulled away by the teacher. She was not paying attention and made a long mark on the paper.
“Teacher, you must check that necklace carefully. There was this kind of cheating on the last test!” Pippa looked to the proctor pleasingly.
Aubree clenched her fists in patience.
If Pippa said one more word, she would be rude to her.
“You think everyone likes you just because you are beautiful,” Pippa mocked her and started to pack her things.
Aubree wondered why she was so righteous when she had deliberately delayed her exam.
With a grimace, she picked up the Coke from the table next to her classmate and shook it vigorously. Dragging her swollen ankle, she walked up to Pippa and opened the Coke in front of her face without hesitation. The Coke was sprayed straight in Pippa’s face from the impact of the gas.
“Aubree, what’s wrong with you!” Pippa unconsciously stood up and backed away, but her face and hair were dirty, as were her clothes.
“I’ve never messed with you, but you target me every time. Other minor things are fine, but how dare you make things difficult for me during the exam this time.”
Aubree just stood and spoke in a cold tone.
“Pippa, there are some things that you’d better not ask too much.”
With that, she turned around.
Pippa didn’t want to hear what Aubree was saying. She took out a tissue and wiped her face haphazardly. The more she wiped, the angrier she got, the more she hated her. Coincidentally, she saw Aubree’s swollen ankle, and then she immediately got an idea.
She ran away from Aubree as fast as she could on purpose and then hit her with her shoulder as hard as she could.
Aubree was unbalanced by the impact and fell to the ground. She fell again on her right ankle!
It really … hurt!
Pippa grunted and ran out without looking back.
Aubree felt a burning sensation in her ankles. She held on to the wall and slowly moved forward. Finally, it was Riley who escorted her out.
As soon as she stepped out of the school gates, she saw Uncle Sidney’s car parked a short distance away.
“Uncle Sidney!” When Aubree saw Uncle Sidney get out of the car, tears instantly flowed from her eyes.
Sidney’s imposing posture dazzled in the sunlight. His perfect features looked as if they were drenched in frost. Even when the hot sun beat down on his face, it didn’t melt the coldness in his face.
When Sidney saw Aubree, he immediately frowned. He strode forward and picked her up without hesitation.
“Uncle Sidney … it hurts…” Aubree became so tender in Sidney’s arms.
Riley froze in place. He had never thought Aubree would act coquettishly…
He looked at the hand he had been holding on to Aubree, retracted it awkwardly, and turned quietly away.
