Sidney had been out of the country for three days and had not returned.
In the blink of an eye, it was the day of the college entrance exam. Aubree had studied late the night before, and when she woke up in the morning, she felt groggy and her head was heavy.
She went downstairs in a panic, but suddenly, she remembered that she had left her star bracelet on the nightstand, so she ran back to get it.
“Miss, slow down!” Everly got nervous when she saw her running and jumping down the stairs.
“I’m fine!” Aubree wore the bracelet as she descended the stairs. But!
“Ah!” She wasn’t paying attention, and then she stepped on the air and rolled right down the stairs!
“Miss!” Everly was terrified. Her heart was shaking and she ran over.
“It … hurts …” Aubree’s right leg was broken, especially her ankle, which hurt like hell. She crumpled to the ground, unable to move, and tears instantly filled her eyes.
“I’m going to call Master Sidney!” Everly stomped her foot and didn’t dare to touch her. Her first reaction was to inform Master Sidney quickly.
“Don’t disturb him at work. I’m fine … ” Aubree stood up with her left leg and tried to keep herself calm. Today was the day of the college entrance exam, and even if she had to crawl, she still had to crawl to school.
“It’s too late, Everly.” She let Everly help her to the car.
Everly saw that she couldn’t be persuaded and called Sidney right away when she was gone.
When Aubree arrived at the school where the test was to be given, she found that Riley had already arrived. She opened the door to get out of the car and found that she could only move her left leg and that her right ankle was swollen.
Riley seemed to have been waiting for her. When he saw her, he came right over.
“What happened to your foot?” Riley was a little surprised to see her ankle swell that big.
“I fell. It’s okay.” Aubree pretended to be fine. But as soon as she took a step, she immediately stopped, and pain swept through her body. Her forehead instantly broke out in a cold sweat.
Riley grabbed Aubree and said, “Don’t be so stubborn. Let’s get you inside.”
Aubree cast a grateful glance at him.
“Huh, Riley? When did you get a girlfriend?” Someone’s jealous words came from the side of the two of them.
The speaker turned out to be Pippa. They hadn’t seen each other for two years, but she hadn’t changed much.
The moment Aubree turned around, Pippa’s face turned livid. She didn’t expect that Aubree had become even more beautiful than before.
“What are you talking about? You’ve transferred schools, yet you still don’t learn a lesson!” Riley had always disliked Pippa, but since their parents knew each other, he couldn’t diss her too much.
Aubree stopped looking at her and turned back. Her arm, which Riley was grabbing, stiffened.
“Why does your girlfriend look so familiar?” Pippa said deliberately. She followed up and walked alongside them.
“Let me think about it …” She said defiantly, “I remember! Isn’t she your friend’s ex-girlfriend?”
Pippa saw Aubree’s necklace and her eyes became very strange.
Riley was instantly angry at her words. It didn’t matter what she said about him, but she could never say that about Aubree.
“Pippa, do you know why Hendrix doesn’t like you?” Riley asked.
Pippa stopped smiling. She knew Riley and Hendrix had the best relationship, so of course, she wanted to know why Hendrix didn’t like her.
“Just because you’re so mean!”
“He likes quiet, well-behaved girls. Do you?”
Pippa looked at Aubree and her hatred crept up a notch. Wasn’t the girl Riley was talking about Aubree? What was the point of his beating around the bush to mock her!
