Aubree waltzed back slowly to the classroom after having lunch at the school cafeteria. A bucket of water dropped on her the moment she opened the door and stepped into the classroom!
The cold water drenched every part of her body!
There was no one else in the classroom besides Pippa and her friends. They started laughing frantically after seeing Aubree standing like a drowned chicken by the door.
Aubree’s clothing was soaked thoroughly. Her wet clothes clung to her skin and it was freezing. She started shivering from the cold.
She then clenched her fist and raised her head. She looked at Pippa, her eyes filled with anger.
“Hey, look Pippa. Aubree looks angry!” One of the girls ridiculed Aubree and Aubree felt like her heart was stabbed by a needle.
“Hahaha! Look at her, it’s so funny!”
The people were scoffing and deriding her. Aubree could hear everything clearly, but she didn’t want to say anything back. Not because she was weak, but it was because she didn’t want to cause Uncle Sidney trouble!
But this time, she couldn’t hold it back anymore!
Aubree grabbed a long ruler from the teacher’s table, rushed up to Pippa and slapped her fiercely on the face. She then raised the ruler and hit Pippa relentlessly.
“It hurts!” Pippa didn’t expect Aubree to do this!
“Are you crazy, Aubree!” Pippa tried to snatch the ruler away, but something else happened the moment she turned her face around.
A loud slap echoed throughout the classroom.
Aubree smacked the ruler on Pippa’s face!
Aubree didn’t even blink once the whole time she was hitting Pippa.
Pippa held her swollen cheeks and couldn’t say anything. Her legs turned to jelly and she fell to the ground, she then started to bawl. Some of the girls watching the scene unfold were scared shitless, they quickly went to get the teacher.
Aubree was now stunned.
She…got herself in big trouble.
“Aubree, you hit Pippa and disfigured her face! It’s your fault!” The other girls left in the classroom were best friends with Pippa. They grabbed the ruler from Aubree who was now distracted, placed it on Aubree’s abdomen and pushed it forcefully.
“She is the only daughter of the Evans family! You’re done for, Aubree!”
Pippa was now filled with hatred. She grabbed the long ruler from her friend’s hand and wanted to smack it on Aubree’s face as hard as she could!
But contrary to everyone’s expectation, the rule hit Hendrix’s back instead!
Hendrix hugged Aubree tightly and protected her with his body from Pippa’s attempted revenge.
Aubree’s mind had gone blank. Her eyes started to turn listless as Hendrix stared at her worryingly.
This was the first time that someone else other than her Uncle Sidney hugged and protected her.
The teacher arrived at the scene and Pippa was sent to the hospital. Aubree and the other students at the scene were summoned to the discipline office.
“Who started it?” asked Teacher Murray sternly. This teacher was known for being a bootlicker who would suck up to people with power.
Everybody else except for Hendrix pointed at Aubree. One girl even added fuel to the fire by saying, “Teacher Murray, we were just sitting around, minding our own business in the classroom. When Aubree Wilson walked in, she suddenly rushed towards Pippa and started hitting her.”
“Aubree? Why did you hit Pippa Evans?” asked Teacher Murray grimly. He had vague memories of this student, she had good results, but wasn’t from a prestigious family.
Aubree raised her head and stared at Teacher Murray stubbornly. She didn’t say anything and her eyes were filled with anger. She knew what Teacher Murray was like and didn’t want to explain herself because it wouldn’t matter anyway.
“How dare you glare at me like that?” yelled Teacher Murray angrily.
“I can testify that Pippa Evans was the one that started the fight!” said Hendrix suddenly looking at the situation.
“Hendrix Elliot, you are in no position to speak. Go back to the classroom right now!” Teacher Murray had never met a student like Aubree, who would glare at him like that. Even the thugs or delinquents on the street wouldn’t dare to glare at him like that! Not to mention that Aubree wasn’t from a prestigious family. Teacher Murray was furious and felt insulted as a teacher.
“You!” Teacher Murray pointed at Aubree’s nose.
“Call your parents over! Right now!”
Aubree broke out in cold sweats after hearing what her teacher said.
How was she going to… call her parents…
Sidney was the mysterious and the most influential person in City A. In Aubree’s mind, she thought that he shouldn’t appear in public because of the troubles she caused, otherwise…
Aubree pondered for a while and the expression in her eyes turned helpless. She hung her head low, her nose tingled and she was trying to hold back her tears.
“I’m a teacher for more than twenty years and you are the first student that dare to glare at me like that!” Teacher Murray’s face returned with vigour and he started to yell at Aubree, seeing that she chickened out after being asked to call her parents. A student’s weakness was always their parents.
“You are to stay in the office until your parents come by! Prepare to spend the night here standing if your parents are not here before the school bell rings!” said Teacher Murray as he pushed the landline towards Aubree.
Aubree’s clothes were still damp and she was sticking close to the cold wall. Her whole body was shivering violently, but she was still stubborn and wouldn’t make the phone call.
As time went by, Aubree who was soaked from head to toes couldn’t stand the cold anymore. She started to feel heavy in the head and her body was getting wobbly.
She bit her lips and told herself to get through this no matter what!
At the Hudson Mansion.
Sidney was reading a magazine on the sofa. Everly had prepared dinner, but Aubree wasn’t home yet.
“Call her and ask her where she is,” said Sidney plainly without even lifting his head. He didn’t specify who to call and was expressionless as usual.
But Steward got what he meant and swiftly called the driver who was responsible to drive Aubree to school. The driver told him that he was still in front of the gates, but for some reason, Aubree was nowhere to be seen.
Sidney frowned and put down the magazine on his hand.
“Prepare the car.”
He was going to Aubree’s school to get her.
The school gates were shut tight when he arrived at the school. This could only mean that the teachers and students all left the compound already.
But Aubree was nowhere to be found.
Sidney looked slightly unhappy and there was a glimpse of concern in his eyes. He wanted to get off the car but was halted by Steward.
“Young master, I’m afraid it’s not proper… Let me go inside and check instead.”
Sidney wore a cold expression, he raised one of his brows and said frigidly, “Steward, you are becoming more and more controlling.”
