Chapter 28: It Is Infatuation

Book:A Night With The Billionaire Published:2024-6-4

This is Monica’s first proposal for her to appear beautiful.
Penelope looked down at her stomach. She mocked herself, wondering how a pregnant woman could be sexy.
“Rat-a-tat.” Someone is knocking at the door.
“The door is open, come in, please.” Penelope rolled over the windowsill, and her skill was still agile.
Warren pushed the door in and saw that she had changed into a sweater and some trousers. She seems to be a little bit more obedient in her appearance.
“You said that you were a model, right?”
“Yeah.” Penelope rolled her eyes and didn’t understand what he meant.
“There is a show at the Rosewood London in the afternoon. Would you like to watch it?”
Penelope looked at him suspiciously. “What show? Would I go alone?”
He took out his cell phone and checked his schedule. He said, “I didn’t pay attention to the details. I can only spend two hours with you, is that okay?”
Penelope’s eyes lit up, was her strategy successful?
Well, he took too long to reciprocate.
“Mrs. Brown said that you may be bored during this period, so I will try to arrange some recreational activities for you later.” He put his hands in his pockets and looked at her.
Although Penelope thought that such a plan was very good, she still asked the following question, “Sorry… which period?”
He lifted his chin, saying, “If you are emotionally unstable during pregnancy, you are prone to depression. You should also pay attention to yourself.”
Penelope stared at him blankly.
Self-assertion. This is the conclusion of what she did.

Warren went to the business. Penelope lay on the bed with mixed feelings.
On the one hand, she is glad that he is so concerned about her. On the other hand, the sad thing is that what he did was just fulfilling his promises.
She felt sad and happy, but it turned into anger.
“Ah…” She scratched her head and sighed.
If she were not pregnant now, she would pursue him directly against all odds.
Pregnant… She stood in front of the mirror, her abdomen bulging slightly. Finally, she looked pregnant.
If she weren’t pregnant, how would he see her? In God’s arrangement, he and the baby in her stomach are grouped together, and there is no alternative.
Forget it, even if he finally fell in love with her, can he accept the child in her stomach? Even if he was willing, she also thought it was unfair to him.
The phone rang and interrupted her thoughts.
It is a video invitation sent by Monica.
“How was your exam?” Penelope asked immediately after hitting the answer button.
“Just so-so.” Monica groveled on the bed and stared at her living arrangement through the camera. “Asher really deceived us. He obviously has a rich family.” Monica pouted her lips.
“This is his uncle’s house. But, strictly speaking, these are really not his.”
“You’ve gotten into character?” Monica teased her.
Penelope laughed. “Maybe.”
“It is useless for you to be so dedicated.
If Asher knew that any of his two uncles were probably the baby’s father, and one of them is your crush, he would go absolutely crazy.”
“Err… you keep this as our secret.”
“Of course, I won’t say it, but can you keep it to yourself? Someone great has said that there are two things in this world that you can’t hide: a cough and love.”
“… Mine is not loved.”
“How do you explain these behaviors?”
Penelope sighed, and her eyes flew outside the window.
Monica heard a long sigh. It sounded like Penelope was helpless. Then she tried to cheer her up, “It is infatuation.”
“Like chasing idols, you like his every move, obsessed with all his patterns of behavior. But you know that he is far away from you and inviolable.” Monica added.
It seems that the farthest distance in the world is indeed not between life and death. For me, it is the fact that I secretly love you, but you have always treated me as your nephew’s girlfriend. She thought in silence.
Penelope checked the information about Rosewood London on the Internet. Then she changed back into the skirt she wore in the morning.
Sitting in front of the dressing table, she noticed she was not wearing any makeup. Her skin is smooth like a pearl, without blemish.
She picked up her makeup brush, hesitated, and finally put it down.
Warren does not seem to like women who wear makeup, and his eyes are really sharp. He can even see light makeup.
However, she recalled that Katherine Foster seemed to be wearing makeup.
Wearing new clothes and carrying a new bag, Penelope greeted the driver with a smile and got in the luxurious car. Suddenly Penelope is at a loss.
Did she ever imagine living this type of life?
She dared not think about it at all.
When they arrive at the venue, it is still very early. A cordon is used in front of the door. People without invitation letters and non-workers are not allowed to enter.
Penelope pinched two invitation letters and asked the driver, “When will Mr. Duncan arrive?”
“The secretary said he is still in the conference room.”
Penelope sat in the car, waiting quietly. As time went by, fewer and fewer people were at the door, and even the staff was cut in half.
Penelope opened the door with the invitation letters in her hand. “Let me get out. He doesn’t seem to come.”
“Okay.”
The staff that is in charge of verifying the invitation are sharp-eyed. Penelope is well dressed and has a driver. She appeared to be from the upper class.
“Welcome, your seat is in the first row of zone A. Please come with me.” Miss Ceremony smiled and reached out.
Penelope nodded and left one of the invitation letters with the driver. “If he came, give it to him.”
“Okay.”
Penelope has never been to such an event, yet she has the best seat of all. On her left is an empty chair. On the right is the organizer of the entire show, and in the next seat is the designer. The rest of the invited guests are sitting on both sides of the u-shaped platform. She faintly feels as though she is the moon surrounded by stars.
