The day went well with Sheila working on some files she needed to submit to David.
When she took over, the financial records had been messy with a lot of money disappearing without being accounted on.
As a result, David tasked her with reviewing the company’s finances for the last five years.
She has been working diligently, identifying all the loopholes on the records and noting them down.
David had filed an embezzlement case with the help of his lawyer against his previous auditor.
He was never one to allow others to step on him and not retaliate.
Sheila was about to finish documenting a file when the landline in her office rang.
With her attention still on the file at hand, she picked up the call.
” Hello, how may I help you?” She said immediately the call went through but the other side said nothing.
The heavy breathing from the other side told Sheila who was calling.
With a smile on her face, she placed the documents on the table and leaned on her swivel chair, assuming a comfortable position.
” Missed me already?” She teased.
She had been so buried with work that she totally forgot about the man.
” It’s lunch break, come to my office.” David ordered before disconnecting the call.
Knowing his little woman, she would be lost in her work and forget about her lunch again.
Yes, again. The last time he had assumed that she had lunch, she had ended up fainting in her office.
Imagine the shock that washed through him when Jordan reported to him that Sheila fainted in her office?
Without caring about any gossip, he rushed to her office and carried her bridal style to his office and ordered the family doctor to make his way to the office.
John, the family doctor, knew better than to delay upon a call from his boss.
The little woman was diagnosed with mild gastritis.
She had been skipping her lunch while working.
Since she could not take care of herself, he took it upon himself to take care of her.
Biting her lower lip, Sheila noted that it was indeed lunch break.
She knew if David hadn’t reminded her, she would have skipped her lunch.
Straightening her pencil skirt and tucking her shirt properly, she made her way to David’s office after locking her office.
The financial department of the company was on the 17th floor, three floors below the presidential floor.
Tired to take the stairs, she used the elevator.
Sheila met with Jordan who seemed to be running away from David’s office making her frown.
” What’s wrong?” Sheila inquired.
Jordan and her had gotten so close to being friends.
At first, the guy regarded her as David’s girlfriend until Sheila stopped him from being formal with her.
Since they were colleagues, she preferred using her name for address.
” The president chased me away to have lunch peacefully.” Jordan reported with a wronged expression on his face.
All he wanted was to remind the president that he would be having a visitor in an hour’s time but the president chased him away like a stray dog.
He even called him an eyesore and a third wheel. He wanted to break down in tears and express his grievances.
Sheila chuckled before patting him on the shoulder.
” Take a break and have lunch too. He’s always a grumpy old man.” Sheila said, making Jordan’s face lit up.
His junior sister is the best. She always seeks justice for him after the president wrongs him.
Hearing her call his president an old grumpy man felt so good and fulfilling. Only she had the confidence to speak Ill of the president and still be doted on.
That’s just how much power she held on that terrifying man.
In her presence, he changes from a ferocious tiger to a cute puppy that needs to be petted on by its owner.
With a wide grin, Jordan left for the cafeteria.
He might as well use this time to fill his stomach with some delicious food.
Staying by the president’s side and being his personal assistant needed not just wits and patience, energy would be needed before you end up fainting from torture.
Sheila knocked on the president’s door before pushing it open.
Her nose was assaulted by the sweet scent of seafood the moment the door opened.
David was sitting on the couch, his eyes trained on her.
He had abandoned his suit jacket and the white shirt he wore hugged his body like a second skin.
The top two buttons popped open revealing his collarbones.
The sleeves were halfway folded. He appeared to be laid back with his leg crossed above the other.
David beckoned her to walk to him which she did obediently.
She had just flopped herself on the couch when David pulled her into his arms, kissing her passionately.
The kiss lit a fire of desire deep inside her and something stirred to life.
Sheila moaned into the kiss, loving the feeling of David’s lips exploring every crook of her mouth.
A minute later, he pulled away, allowing her to catch the much needed breath.
” I missed you.” David said, answering her question from earlier.
Sheila smiled hearing his confirmation.
She knew he missed her but hearing him say it was such a turn on.
She thought that if that was how she would be treated before having a mouthwatering lunch, she might sign up to come up here daily.
Helping her settle, David took the initiative to uncover the dishes he ordered for them.
After staying with his little woman, he came to realise that she had a thing with seafood so he decided to surprise.
Apart from seafood, she loved Swahili dishes the most but because the only restaurant offering Swahili dishes was one in the whole city, he chose the available seafood.
He could only hope she would like it and by the sweet smile adorning her lips, he knew that he made the right choice.
After serving her friend rice and fish, David took it upon him to peel prawns for her.
He had read online that a man who peels prawns for his wife will have a long and blissful marriage.
That was exactly what he wanted with his little woman so he did not mind it.
If people saw David Brown, The CEO of Brown Corp and the most admired bachelor peeling prawns for a woman, they might puke blood.
But nevertheless, here he was, peeling prawns for his little woman.
He did not care what others thought or said about him. As long as his little woman was happy, the rest could go to hell.
” Here, eat this!” David said, bringing the peeled meat to her mouth.
Sheila blushed from his actions.
He needed not treat her like a child, she was not one to be fed.
” I can eat by myself.” Sheila refused, moving her hand to take the meat but David would not let her.
The look he gave her said that she would eat from his hands and there wasn’t going to be a discussion.
Sighing helplessly, Sheila could Only accept to be fed.
He continued to feed her until she was full.
” You should eat something.” She reminded him. He had concentrated on peeling prawns for her and feeding her that he forgot all about himself.
After lunch, David forced her to take a nap which she agreed half-heartedly.
They had already taken an hour to eat and lunch break was almost coming to an end.
She also had work to finish up.
But knowing David, Sheila was aware that he would not be convinced otherwise so she closed her eyes and decided to nap.
Sheila was woken up by a soft knock on the door.
Jordan then entered the office with a tablet at hand.
” What’s the matter Jordan? I thought I said don’t disturb me!” David sounded displeased while the look on Jordan’s face told sheiks that he had something important to report.
” What is it?” She asked Jordan who turned to look at her with a pleading look.
” The president has a meeting scheduled now. The guest has been waiting for thirty minutes.” He reported making Sheila jump from the couch.
Looking at the office clock mounted on the wall, it was already Two in the afternoon.
She had slept for a whole hour?
Straightening her clothes, she started walking towards the door without glancing at David.
” Invite him in.” She said, opening the door and walking away.
She had just taken a few steps when she collided with a man in a grey suit.
” Sorry sir, I didn’t mean to bump into you,” she said only for the man’s next words to make her furrow her brows.
” Beautiful.” Gabriel sounded.
