Harley’s POV
His expression on his face kept making me think Dominic has been overruled again. As I sight him sitting on the royal throne, I bow my head as he requests for what I need from him.
“Dominic? Do you not remember me anymore?” I ask, feeling dejected by his nonchalance.
“Harley Donovan, the former pack slut.” He whispers and I nod my head.
“I will sell you off to any wolf interested in your figure,” he says, “but if you pass my test, you’ll be the ruler of the omega district.”
“Why are you embarrassing me? Aren’t we in this together! Didn’t you promise to make me your Luna after you’ve gained your pack again?!” I scream at him as the security wolf knocks me to my feet, as I crash to the ground, trembling at his feet.
“If she raises her voice one more time, fire. Then hold her back. Don’t let her visit any pack doctor. Let her breathe her last in this room. If her wolf heals her, inject her with wolfsbane to reduce the strength of her wolf and fire again.” He instructs.
“One more request. One last one.” I silently speak as he cups his jaw, claiming he’s all ears.
“I want to leave the pack. Permit me to do so.” I request.
“That means you won’t belong to this pack anymore.” He says and scoffs.
“It doesn’t mean so, according to the moon goddess scripts. Any wolf that leaves the pack unannounced, as long as it’s not a beta or someone high in position, will be deemed exempted totally from the pack. Once returned, will be killed. That’s the fifty seventh rule of the moon goddess.” I speak up.
“You know a lot. I admire that. But that won’t help you at this time.” He says, and begins to guffaw. The security wolves join him in revealing their teeth to my mockery.
“I am not leaving unannounced. I’ve announced it now.” I add, since none of them would speak up.
“The moon goddess said any wolf that leaves the pack without prior permission from the Alpha would be deemed exempted totally from the pack!” He raises his voice as he hits the table right in front of him. Anger is boiling inside of him as I can see it written all over his face.
“I’m asking for your permission then!” I slightly scream too as I hear the gun click behind me.
“I didn’t raise my voice please.” I plead as I sight the warrior reloading bullets to his gun.
His lips turn to a smirk as he says, “you’re just lucky that bullets weren’t present in the gun at the time I pulled the trigger.”
“Damn.” I slightly say as I stare at Dominic deep in the eyes. I now see the main reason his brother is hellbent on leaving him in the lurch. He’s actually worth suffering as he doesn’t acknowledge those that have helped him to get to where he is, today.
“Will you just stand there and look when she yelled at me?” He suddenly confronts the security wolf behind me after he’s reloaded the bullets.
“What do you mean?” My lips shiver as I ask. The security wolf pushes me to the ground as my face hits the ground hard and he spreads my legs as he fires at my left leg. I wince in pain as I try to get up.
“Both legs.” Dominic commands but I quickly hit him with my right leg so that he falls to the ground. I am also a warrior. As he falls to the ground, I can hear growls from the royal throne and I try to retrieve the gun from the security wolf on time but he’s almost overpowered me. As I retrieve the gun and stagger to my feet, another security wolf gets in as he fires at my right leg. I don’t hesitate as I fire at his skull which splashes against the door as he drops dead.
“Harley!! What did you just do? My newly employed able-bodied wolves?!” Dominic screams in agony as I warn him not to get to me. I crawl to the second warrior I fire at as I retrieve his gun. The one on the ground whom I kicked with my right leg, I fire shot at his forehead before he can stand to his feet.
“It’s operation kill or be killed. Do not forget.” I say as I warn him not to get any closer. I shut the door, pointing the two guns at him as he intends to stand up from his royal throne.
“Give the guns to me and don’t make things tougher.” He slowly says as he hits the table right in front of him. Beside him actually.
“I don’t even need you motherfucker to employ me to the pack at all! You ingrate! Bloody fool!” I insult as his wolf growls in this private room and it would only take minutes before many other security wolves reach here. I stare at my left leg and my wolf has completed the healing. I’m patiently waiting for the right leg as I keep watching him and the window side to know when the warriors arrive here to defend this motherfucking idiot called the Alpha.
In a few seconds more, he stands from his royal throne as he tries to drag me inside the wardrobe so warriors don’t get to treat me as he’s announced that he won’t kill any wolf to celebrate his independence and reign as an Alpha again. Before he gets to me, my wolf has completed my healing as I slip out of his hands, hurrying towards the door. Sweat breaks from my forehead even with the gun strapped to my fingers. I hit the door but it doesn’t budge open. I point the gun at it and fire. The door opens a few seconds before he’d catch up with me but as I creep out, I slip one of the two guns to my pocket, holding one to myself as I bump into many security wolves who asks me to drop the weapon in my hand.
I drop it and they lead me to the pack cell.
