Jack’s POV
I am still expecting the said demons to show up as I am ready to fight them to escape. I haven’t seen demons face to face ever in my life, I think this is a real chance to meet with them after reading lots of books about them. Jack had read at a time about how a demon departed to hell after being conquered by a young werewolf. We both cheered, hoping to be that brave young wolf someday. I was always told to watch what I wish for but I never understood until this present moment where I stand the chance to be attacked by demons after insulting them.
I think it was the insult that made the subjects crash to the ground. I’ve also read that demons are always very short, some are as short to the extent that you might not notice they’re around yet, until they squelch and you find out they’re aiming towards you.
Since I can’t find them yet, I descend the stairs to save the other kids, maybe I came here to be savior to many. As I get down, I see the demons ascending the stairs, making towards me. There’s definitely no way of escape in the room I just got out from. Rather than descend the stairs and face the demons to engage in a physical combat, I jump from the first step to the last step as I sustain a big injury on my fingers. I had used them to maintain balance.
They are shocked to note that bravery as they change direction and head towards me. I am now sure that they are truly coming for me. They look black and kind of oily as their heads aren’t really clear but they’ve got horns enough to pierce into someone’s heart and such would die instantly. I count them and they are seven. I think that’s significant.
That’s one of the stuff Amanda informed us about during the training in the field in the forest before I found myself here.
I can’t plead with demons to let me go as they are known as either black monsters or black-hearted monsters but I prefer to call them No Love Creatures. That includes love in it?
I’ll call them black monsters then. I rapidly race towards where I found myself, laying pretty beside the dead bodies as I begin to collide with my body on the walls so it’ll fall down. While they are a stone’s throw away from me, I suddenly sight a hole around the adjacent walls. They let out a shrill when they discover that I am headed towards the hole.
I quickly get inside the hole before they can come for me. It was a big hole but it keeps getting big and getting small per minute. I am lucky to get into it while it remains big. As the demons get there, the hole has gotten smaller again. They begin to hit it hard but it refuses to get bigger. If they are truly powerful they should be able to get that down without any stress.
But I think these stuff were made with spells and magic because their claws seem sharper than wolf claws. What do they even want me for? They want to eat me alive? I can’t decipher why they are hellbent on getting me as they are furiously attacking the wall to get bigger.
My eyes bulge as I see the hole become bigger again as a minute has passed and I am still at a corner, wanting to know if they’d get to pass through the hole which would determine where I’d flee to and how fast I should be, than when they’re not pursuing me.
I see them running so fast at me as I suddenly head towards the forest. I keep my lips sealed, as I’ve learnt to remain quiet even in tough situations. Screaming will only permit them to track down where exactly I am. My lips remain shut until I get to the verge of the forest. I realize it’s the same place we walked inside, when Amanda and Alex wanted to come train us. I can’t even say if my people are close to this place but one thing I’m certain about – they surely must be looking for me. No one would miss a gem like me and be peaceful.
I can still see the demons lurking around where I am. I hid behind a tall tree as I look back, squinting my eyes to see how close they’ve gotten to me and the next step I should take.
I suddenly see them rush at me both from my front and behind me. But before they can grab me, I climb the tall tree as I am so scared they’ll follow after me but they seem unable to climb trees as they let out shrills enough to deafen and distract me so I’d fall. I’ve never climbed a tree ever in my life, but I think adrenaline rushed within me.
I feel like I’m going to drop from the tree and break a neck as the demons pierce the tree below to bore a hole in it so that they can get it down. I can see a tree close to it but they approach the trees close to the one I am, and begin to do the same to it, so I don’t get to escape at all.
I am moved to shed tears because I am at a deadend and I don’t even have a mind connection. I don’t even have a wolf I can ask opinions from. The tree keeps getting weak with each claw piercing through it.
I can’t even breathe properly but I ensure I don’t get to show them my weakness. That’s all they’re trying to get as far as I’m concerned. One of them furiously rushes at the tree as it begins to fall slowly. It stands again suddenly. I know it is a strong tree and it hasn’t fall, not because I hold it tight or my effect on it makes it strong. I am just lucky that it hasn’t fallen.
They suddenly let out a shrill as they all rush at it and it falls to the ground.
