Jake’s POV
“Where did you bring me to?” I shudder as I find myself wrapped, sitting pretty close to dead bodies. Am I really dead? Did someone injure me? I can’t precisely remember the last scene that took place before my getting here.
“Is there someone alive in there?”
I suddenly hear a rough voice speak through the hallway. I remain laid as I plan to escape after all of them are gone. Since I don’t hear anymore voice or thudding of feet in a few more minutes, I slowly unwrap the dude beside me. He’s really dead. What could have killed him? Who could have?
Should I scream? Should I be quiet? I am no longer good at making proper decisions but I feel, either ways, I will escape even if narrowly. The thought of shifting in a few days later suddenly rushes to my memory as I hold myself back from screaming, the last scene that took place slowly replaying in my head.
“I told you. Someone’s there that’s yet to die. Go kill anyone found breathing.” I suddenly hear someone command another.
I know that if I stay here, I will still be caught as it is easy to differentiate the living from the dead. I haven’t even been trained properly to feign death. To even pretend that I am no longer breathing. I am looking forward to such sessions of training as the thought of being trained by Amanda rushes back to memory.
I get up to my feet as I run towards the hallway. As feet begin to thud in this same hallway, I begin to creep as I can’t see anyone in view but there are voices. Did I find myself in the camp of ghosts?
This looks more like a basement. It definitely must be a popular company or institution. They have basements that look this way. I haven’t been to college but I completed my high school levels. Though I was an introvert then, I still engaged in some bullshit brave acts whose memories hunt me today, prompting me to take risks I wouldn’t take on a normal day.
I expect to be stopped by a figure shortly, as I am about to climb a staircase I find right in front of me. Who could be upstairs? Were the voices speaking from there? I can’t wait to confirm my suspicion.
“If you take one more step, I’ll have your skulls blown against the wall!” Someone suddenly orders me as I freeze up. I can’t bear standing while being so scared as I lay low to the ground, shivering intensely. I wish I’d have gotten a werewolf before being in the mess. I’d have whooped their ass to their detriment. It seems their targets are younger wolves. I can see younger wolves like me descending from the stairs, staggering like some drunkard at Mc Connelly’s bar shop.
I suddenly feel a cold tap behind me and when I look back, it’s a monster with a huge head but triple eyes and pimples all over his face and body. This doesn’t look like pimples. It looks more like boils that won’t heal in eternity. I slowly crawl back as I can’t find my voice to scream now. Even my screams can’t be heard as the dudes that scream on their way to the place I escaped from, are contained. Like a chicken screaming in a closed bottle.
A chicken can’t even fit in a closed bottle. Just a comparison. Perhaps my brain isn’t functioning properly. Am I even really in the camp of monsters?
“He seems different. Bring him to me.” I suddenly hear a voice from upstairs as the monster forcefully drags me on the ground, ascending the stairs as foul odor emits from his body.
As I get to upstairs, I sight lots of human head on the mere ground as their wasted bodies are being dumped to a big hole dug outside the basement. No. Right beside the basement. How did this happen?
I can’t really point to a clear point but I remain optimistic that I will be saved, even if I have to lose an arm. I don’t have a Werewolf in me yet but I act like such while maintaining composure.
“What is your name? Who brought you here?” The master asks as a lady walks up to the queue, the next to be beheaded.
“Stop it!” I scream out of anguish and pain I feel for the lady about to be beheaded. He’s really impressed by my actions to save a stranger. He pauses slashing their heads as he walks up to me.
“Do you want to die in her stead?” He inquires and begins to laugh wickedly.
“Please! Don’t! Don’t kill her. I am begging on my knees!” I scream, as I go on my knees.
“A lot of people have begged to be released, even worse than kneeling. But know what?” He says as he approaches the lady. She bows her head and he decapitates her in my presence, “no one ever gets out of here except we warrantee it. And as much as I know, we never will. You’re special indeed and your head should be prepared specially for the demons to consume.”
I suddenly lower my head as I slide under the monster. He’s directed a sharp sword at my neck. If I didn’t slide, I’d have lost my head as well.
“Don’t try to escape. There’s no way out. The demons need your head to have more powers to themselves.” He says as everything looks nightmarish to me. How did I get here in the first place and how did I begin to relate with demons suddenly?
“District of no love.” I read to myself, translating the Sanskrit inscription on the walls.
“I’d do you a favor in return. Just release me already.” I plead as the door doesn’t even budge open and monsters keep increasing each minute, ready to slash me into pieces if I don’t cooperate to bow my head so it’ll be taken off to serve the demons.
“Who are the fucking demons?!” I hit the walls cruelly as I scream.
He turns to face me as blood begins to ooze from his nose. The monsters crash to the ground as they begin to wail. Why are all these happening?
I somehow feel the demons are going to appear here anytime from now, since his workers have crashed to the ground.
