“Dominic has been found.” He reveals as my eyes glisten, my body threatening to lose control to my wolf. How did he suddenly find Dominic? He claimed not to have encountered him at all.
“I was informed through the mind link. He’s now a rogue.” He informs but I cackle in disbelief.
“Request for his location and I’d track him down. As long as I do not see him as a rogue face to face, I will never believe!”
With that, I pull out of his tight clutch as I head out of the room. Jack is being punished in the field. I scoot my feet over to his side quickly before he loses it all.
“Oh my poor boy” I emotionally comment as I release him from the punishment. With his left leg, he kicks me and I sprint forward, struggling to maintain balance. I feel pissed by his rude acts but I decide not to inform Alec about it.
“See me in my room.” I instruct with my Luna tone. He slowly nods his head, trailing behind me. Once we reach the room, he exhibits another trait. A cool one.
“Jake has resumed school. Yet you haven’t. You didn’t even bother to ask the reason.” I snort.
“Does school count? A lot of students go to school and end up working under those that didn’t go.” He retorts
“Keep shut.” I instruct, my voice laced with discontentment.
I walk over to him, rubbing his chin, saying, “my boy, you understand that I love you, stop acting weirdly and let peace reign. I know how to convince Alex to permit your resumption in college so you can relate with wolves of your choice.”
His rude stares makes my heart pound each second intention a word but I maintain composure and disallows him from noticing the fear on my face.
“I’ve been living with Alec for up to thirteen years now. He has never agreed with you on a matter. You only do. He brings a case up, you delve into it but eventually, you resort to what he prefers to do.” He collates.
“If he doesn’t agree as you have stated, I will lead you to school myself.”
Jack smirks, rolling his eyes gently at me, “I’m sure that’d come with a price.”
I stoop to better converse with him, “I am your mother, OK? I gave birth to you. Feel confident in me.”
“If you’re my mother, then where’s father? I and Jake wanted to ask about this a few days ago before this whole mess came up.”
“Forget it. I’ll help you escape to high school. Promise not to question me again.”
A smirk plays on his lips as he gently whispers, “promise.”
I rise to my feet, saying, “get your stuff ready. We’re traveling through the car.”
“Sure, why not?” He shrugs, as he arranges his coat and his backpack, travel bag, and a lot more stuff. A few minutes and he’s done, I walk him to the back of the pack.
“As you can see, here’s very dark. No one comes here for any reason except there is an attack against the pack.” I begin to say but he interrupts.
“There’s no security appointed to this district. What if wolves decide to invade the pack through this place?” He inquisitively asks.
“That’s why it’s very dark.”
“Wolves have night vision.” He rebuffs. “How does your point remains valid?”
“OK, I’m sorry. Wolves can intrude into the pack through this place but we have security wolves immediately they step their feet into the pack but generally speaking, no werewolf will think of attacking a pack from this dark place. They can stumble, even if they employ their night vision. That’s a story for another day, in a different environment.” I mention, and we walk further to the back of the pack.
“Hold me tight. Don’t slip out of my hands.” I gently warn, and he adheres strictly. We reach a deserted and dusty room after walking for a few minutes. I wobble in and he follows suit.
“Here’s the passage. You’re gonna have to escape from here and meet me outside. I will deceive the Alpha and ensure he’s busy. While I drive down here, you fling your backpack and pieces of luggage at me. I’d tuck them to the boot, and you get in while we drive away. I promise no one will notice. As long as we can be as smart as our decisions.” I express. He nods his head affirmatively. I leave him in the room as I head back to the pack. He’s with his luggage, so as soon as I find my way out of the pack with the car, the plan will work out.
Each time I think about his safety, I am reminded about his bravery and his being a survivor. I smirk briefly as I make my way back to the pack. The warriors securing the area don’t bother to question my whereabouts, not even after my unsmiling stares. As I almost reach my Quarters, one of the werewolves present runs to meet me, with my phone tightly clutched to him. He tosses it over to me and I glare at the screen.
Ten missed calls from Jack. I forgot he’s with his cellphone. What could have transpired? My heart begins to throb but I try to calm myself down, not to raise any suspicions.
“I’m OK. You can take your leave.” I instruct the werewolf and he humbly exits. A text message pops up suddenly before I redial Jack’s number to confirm his safety.
“Mum? I got to school already. Thanks for the idea but it took you too long to execute so I found an easier way.”
The text message keeps ringing in my heart, as thoughts flood my mind. If Alex finds about it, he might turn me to a rogue or dethrone me as the Luna. It’s a pack rule, to be followed by all.
I decide to respond to his text, “OK, good boy. Did you get to your hostel already?”
“Yeah… I think so.” He sends a voice note through WhatsApp. His airtime probably got exhausted to send another text.
“Think so? Are you in school?” I question aggressively, suppressing the urge to raise my voice.
“I’m not sure this place is a school. It looks like the place where I did live.”
“A pack? A pack of wolves?” I ask and when he sends the next voice, the groans and grunts of wolves around make me shiver. I shrug the thought off, thinking he could be in the midst of his new pack.
