Unreturned Favor

Book:Pregnant For The Twin Alphas Published:2024-6-4

Jake and Alexander have decided to quit hunting and return home while I search for Jack.
“You can’t find him. Even if you do, it’ll stress you out.” Alex had stated, but I ignored. I wouldn’t remain seated comfortably while my son’s being torn apart by wild creatures. Afterall, I wasn’t properly introduced into the werewolf kingdom, I was caught. I didn’t show interest, my interest was sprouted instead.
“Jack!” I scream his name inside this quiet, eerie forest. My voice echoes through the air, and even someone at the farthest junction to this place should hear me clearly. I don’t hear any responses from him, so I decide to back off but my gazes are met with vampires in front of me.
Suddenly, they begin to surround me so I don’t escape. I declare my intention on time before I am torn apart or my blood is drained.
“I need to see Jack. Are you with him?” I inquire but the leader of the vampires resemble the same person that caged both I and Dominic. Remember? The two guys that tortured I and Dominic when we sought for our kids in a strange building standing alone in the forest.
I try to recall his name but I question myself if I ever mastered the name. My eyes blink twice as he nudges me back to reality. My eyes snap open when I see Jack right behind him, chained and looking hurt.
“What did you do to my son?” I inquire, my tone laced with impatience.
“Grant us what we desire, and we’ll release your son to you before he’s sired.”
Can two vampires sire a kid? I don’t think so. Jack has been delivered from the vampire venom, I won’t want the same to befall him. As much as I want Jack to realize his fault for being rude and walking out on us without understanding the proper road back to the pack, I also want to rescue him so he doesn’t fall into traps he won’t be able to escape from anymore.
“What is your desire?” I gently ask as he smirks playfully, casting an unholy glance at me. My eyes bulge at that insinuation but my lips remain sealed, waiting for him to voice out his desires directly.
“You can be straightforward. I need to save my kid.” I mention as a different plan subtly creeps into my mind should they not be willing to release my kid. I might not grant his desire if I understand his looks at the moment.
“Follow me home and let’s strike a deal.”
“What deal?!” I scream as his members snarl, revealing their fangs, warning me not to ever raise my voice at their leader anymore.
I lower the fury raging within me as I speak up again,. “what deal were you talking about?”
“Cleophas, take him to my dormitory and I’ll sire him in a few seconds.” He orders one of his members but I hold him back. I move my lips closer to his, kissing him for a few minutes. He slyly curves his hands around me as he lowers his head, kissing me majorly.
I stop him when I feel enervated by his burning desires but he snarls, asking for more.
“What if I’m caught?” I lower my voice as I speak. My forehead remains furrowed as I realize his members are not here anymore.
“What about Jack?” I inquire from myself but he hears it.
“The dude is just so smart.” Smiles curve around his lips as he responds.
“Did he escape from your members?”
“You’re equally smart. How did you learn about that so quickly?”
I heave a deep sigh of confusion, aiming to kill him on the spot. My voice comes out harsh as I speak to him, “what favor did you do to me then?”
“I didn’t sire him. He would be dead now and be reborn as a vampire if I had really sired him.” He responds. “We are vampires and we don’t seek to tamper with werewolves. We only use them as bait to get another thing in return. Kiss me baby.”
I kick his groin as he winces in pain, dropping to the ground and revealing his fangs to show his aggression that might trigger him to fight me. I bounce off from there, hoping Jack had escaped into safe hands.
My wolf seeks to take control of my body should there be any rogue on the way but I deny it. I try to sniff Jack’s scent but I remember he doesn’t have a scent yet. We could have forgiven him and led him back to the pack, ushering a deserved punishment to him ourselves, instead of this search that inflicts fatigue.
I quickly hide my face from the approaching figures after I enable my wolf sight. It is my mother. I thought she had died when my sister called me to Doylestown? Is this a clone of her or am I being deceived?
I enable my wolf’s hearing ability but I can’t hear her voice. I try to find my sister, if she’ll be around her, but she’s no longer walking with her. Only one figure approaching now. As the figure approaches, the height reduces. I swear, I saw the face of my mother before I hid. Or was this a result of the fear within me?
Once I crawl out of the hiding place now, I only see a teenage boy approaching me. He looks familiar, and surely has a connection with my mother.
I decide to approach him and kill him if he’s a rogue since his face isn’t shown clearly. Afterwards, I’ll hurry down to the pack or send a mind link message about my inability to locate Jack but the boy runs into my arms before I take any decision. It’s Jack.
He looks so hurt
“They’re coming, mum. Let’s hurry.” He repeats once he reaches my side. I wolf out, having no other choice; he hunches to my back and I dart out of here but the rogues follow me behind to the pack. I hope they don’t catch a whiff of my scent or the pack’s. They’ll always have access to my location if they do.
And they’re rogues. You can never tell what their mission is and majorly, who sent them in the mission.
