“Are you okay, right?”
Kairos deliberately spoke up. After returning from Aaron’s apartment, Edward seemed quiet all the way. In fact, Kairos was so worried that his friend might be possessed or suddenly suffer a heart attack that he decided to escort Edward until he actually entered his house.
And when he didn’t hear any response, Kairos decided to quickly go to the dining room. He approached Edward again while bringing a glass of cold water.
“Drink this. I think this drink can help cool down your overheated brain a bit. I’m worried you might have a heart attack.”
Edward just accepted the glass Kairos offered. He drank all the water in the glass, then handed it back to Kairos.
“Thank you.”
“Excessive. You don’t need to thank me for everything. It’s just water, Edward.”
“No.” Edward shook his head. “I give thanks for what you have shown me.”
Kairos chuckled. He finally understood what Edward meant. Of course, Edward should be thankful for the abundant gifts Kairos showed him today.
If you want to count, there are many expenses that Kairos had to incur just to uncover a truth so that Edward would realize and not continue to behave foolishly as he did before. But, because he cared so much for Edward, Kairos was willing to go to the trouble of revealing all of this.
“Oh, dear. But, you don’t need to feel embarrassed either. I intentionally present all of this to you. And now, how about it? Are you really aware now? Don’t tell me you’re still thinking positively. Be careful if you do that!”
Edward sighed repeatedly. The feeling of tightness still squeezed in his chest cavity. Occasionally, he still couldn’t believe that all this time he had been lied to and betrayed completely by Julia. Foolishly, he didn’t even realize it at all. He even remained positive thinking and considered Julia the best wife.
“Yes, now I’m fully aware.”
“And now, do you believe me, right? If all this time Julia wasn’t what you imagined. She betrayed you. She didn’t even openly respect your position as a husband.”
Edward nodded. He didn’t deny this at all.
“I admit, I am indeed very foolish. Why didn’t I believe your words from the beginning?”
Kairos snorted irritably. His face looked lazy listening to Edward’s words.
“Your confession is stale and very late, Edward,” Kairos deliberately teased. “If only you had realized from the beginning, maybe none of this would have happened to this extent. And I bet you wouldn’t be as hurt as you are now.”
“The other day, before you left for Italy, I asked what big secret you wanted to reveal? But, you didn’t tell me anything.”
“I did it on purpose.”
Edward frowned. He was certainly surprised.
“Did you intentionally destroy me like this?”
“I’ve said it from the beginning, if you could be firm and make the right decisions, I promised I would help you. But, what did you do? Once again, you bowed down to Julia’s words that clearly misled you.”
Edward felt slapped. He wanted to deny it, but what Kairos said was a reality. Somehow he was blinded by something before, continuously evading and not believing in various facts that Kairos repeatedly conveyed.
“Yes, I am wrong here. I’m sure you’re enjoying laughing at my fate.”
Kairos shook his head. He didn’t agree with what Edward had just said.
“Who said I’m satisfied?”
“It’s obvious from your demeanor.”
Kairos laughed again.
“Don’t be too confident. Just so you know, there are still other things I need to show you and you need to see immediately, Edward Darkwood.”
Edward became curious. So curious about what Kairos wanted to show him next.
“What else do you want to show?”
“Be patient. Because it’s already late, I suggest you take a shower and rest first.”
“Can’t you just tell me now?”
Kairos shook his head.
“No, Edward. You have to be patient until tomorrow. That’s why, now go take a shower and rest. I promise I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning to show you another surprise.”
Edward sighed. Whether he liked it or not, he agreed with what Kairos said. Choosing to rest and prepare himself for the surprise Kairos would show him tomorrow.

“Bella… what are you doing?”
Waking up and after dressing neatly, Kairos decided to go to the dining room. When about to enjoy breakfast, he found Bella busy serving food on the table.
“I just finished cooking. And I think you should try the breakfast menu I prepared.”
“Oh my God.” Kairos exclaimed. “You don’t have to go to such trouble. There are many servants in my house. You can ask them to prepare whatever food you want.”
“No.” Bella shook her head. “I’ve been too bored sitting quietly in my room, that’s why I decided this morning to cook in the kitchen so that the boredom I felt could slowly disappear.”
“You’re feeling bored?”
Bella nodded honestly. It cannot be denied that she really felt bored not doing any activities. Confined in a house with limited movements.
“If you want, I can take you shopping, to the mall, restaurants. Or do you want to go watch?”
Bella nodded repeatedly. She wanted to go out of the house for a while to get rid of the boredom and monotony that had been plaguing her lately.
“Are you serious?”
“Of course I will accompany you,” Kairos reassured.
However, the enthusiastic look that was clearly visible on Bella’s face slowly faded. The woman even shook her head.
“No… it doesn’t seem necessary.”
“Why?”
“I’m worried that accidentally I will meet Edward or Julia.”
Kairos smiled. He understood Bella’s concerns.
“No need to be afraid. Or, if you’re worried about meeting Edward, I can take you out of the country. You choose where you want to go? Swiss, Paris, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, or any country you want.”
Bella laughed. She greatly appreciated the attention Kairos showed. Honestly, while living with him, Bella felt comfort and also felt very safe.
“Thank you. But, it doesn’t seem necessary.”
“I’m serious, Bella. If you’re bored, I can take you out. I’ll arrange it so you can go out freely.”
Bella agreed. She would just follow what Kairos offered to her.
“And speaking of Edward…” Kairos continued. “Do you know that Edward and Julia will be divorcing soon?”
Bella was shocked. She tried to convince herself that she didn’t hear wrong.
“W-what? Edward and Julia are getting divorced?”
Kairos nodded.
“Yes. Edward finally found out that all this time Julia had been cheating on him. That’s why Edward decided to file for divorce.”
Bella just nodded. She was confused about what response to give.
“Don’t you intend to meet Edward?”
Bella shook her head immediately.
“No. I don’t want to meet Edward at all.”
“Even if he’s already divorced?”
This time, Bella nodded again. Her face looked confident in what she had said earlier.
“I don’t want to be disappointed for the second time, Kairos. So, let Edward be however he wants out there. I’ve said it, I want to forget.”
Kairos simply nodded. After all, he wouldn’t force Bella to change her mind.
