Samuel and Kairos sat casually at Oregano Bar, chatting and enjoying their drinks. Yes, they were both not busy. At Kairos’s suggestion, Samuel reluctantly agreed to lie to Edward. He said there was a surgery scheduled, so he couldn’t make it, allowing Edward to enjoy a dinner alone with Bella.
“If Edward finds out we’re both here, he’ll definitely be furious.”
Kairos laughed. But really, he didn’t care if Edward eventually found out he was the mastermind behind this lie. After all, everything Kairos did was for Edward’s own good.
“Let it be. I hope Edward enjoys his dinner with Bella. I pray that after tonight, he falls in love with Bella and maybe even decides to marry her.”
Samuel shook his head in disbelief. He couldn’t fathom what Kairos was planning without his knowledge.
“I see you’re so eager to matchmake Edward with Bella. Yet, you know Edward already has Julia, whom he loves deeply.”
“I won’t deny it. But that’s my goal, Sam. Honestly, I really want to make Edward fall in love with Bella.”
Samuel laughed.
“Why don’t you approach Bella yourself?”
Kairos shook his head.
“No… Bella is too good for a naughty and reckless guy like me.”
“But you’re so attentive to all women. And when it comes to Edward, we both know he’s so obsessed with Julia. So, it seems impossible for our friend to turn away from his wife.”
Kairos couldn’t deny Samuel’s words. He wondered what made Edward love Julia so much. Even though she had disappointed him multiple times.
“That’s why help me to open Edward’s eyes.”
Then Kairos pulled out his phone. Opening the gallery feature, he showed a video to Samuel.
“Take a look at this.”
Samuel took the phone Kairos offered. He carefully observed the figure of the man recorded in the video Kairos showed.
“Isn’t this Julia’s manager?”
“You’re right,” nodded Kairos. “This is Arron Carter. Just pay attention to his actions.”
“This is at Edward’s house, isn’t it?” Samuel asked curiously. “Why is he acting like a thief? And not even wearing clothes like that?”
“Just so you know, when I returned from Switzerland and dropped Edward off, I caught him jumping from the balcony of a room I believed to be Edward’s. Just think about it, what was that man doing with Julia in a room while not wearing any clothes?”
“Are you saying Julia is cheating with her manager?”
Kairos nodded. He told Samuel everything.
“Even more surprisingly, when I deliberately checked the CCTV at Edward’s house, for two days while Edward was away, the CCTV seemed deliberately disabled. When I asked the security, they finally admitted that Julia had asked for the CCTV to be turned off.”
Samuel digested the information Kairos presented.
“That means your accusations about Julia, her frequent infidelities, and not genuinely loving Edward, are true?”
Kairos chuckled bitterly.
“I’ve been saying it from the start. But Edward always dismissed everything I said as nonsense. Just so you know, this isn’t the first time I caught her. Actually… take a look at this.” Then, Kairos showed another piece of evidence stored on his phone. “See who’s with Julia.”
“Isn’t that Santiago Moralez, the owner of that famous global brand? But I heard from Edward that Julia was just attending a qualification Santiago was holding.”
“Well, that might be true. But take a look at the video I recorded. Pay close attention to what Santiago and Julia are doing.”
Samuel then played the video Kairos showed. From it, he could see Santiago intimately holding Julia’s hand as they entered the VIP lounge.
“But, this could still be considered normal behavior, Kairos. Many models or celebrities don’t hesitate to do things like this in public.”
“Fine,” said Kairos. “How about this?”
Kairos showed another video, this one longer. In it, Samuel could see Julia having dinner with Santiago. They danced, and Santiago even affectionately kissed Julia on the cheek and lips.
Moreover, the video also showed Santiago visiting Julia’s room, where she greeted him wearing very revealing clothing.
“Goodness. Where did you get videos like this?”
Kairos laughed.
“It seems like luck is on my side, Sam.”
“What do you mean?”
“Actually, I’ve already paid someone to investigate Julia. And they informed me that Julia and Santiago are currently staying at one of my father’s resorts in Hawaii. That’s why I asked them to investigate, and eventually, I got these videos.”
“Good Lord,” Samuel uttered the words as if in disbelief. “If it’s like this, it’s clear that Julia and Santiago must be up to something forbidden.”
“Exactly! That’s why I went through all the trouble to gather evidence.”
“And when all your evidence is complete, are you going to immediately hand it over to Edward?”
Instead of agreeing, Kairos shook his head.
“Of course not, Samuel.”
Samuel was puzzled. If not to tell Edward, then what did Kairos intend to do?
“So what do you want to do? I thought you would immediately report everything to Edward so he knows about his wife’s behavior.”
“Just wait and see what I’ll do. One thing for sure, I don’t intend to rush and tell Edward right away. Besides, Aunt Chloe’s condition is unstable. I don’t want this news to worsen her health.”
“Oh dear,” Samuel sighed. He felt caught in a dilemma.
“Let it be. Just leave everything to me,” Kairos tried to reassure Samuel. He even sought support and help from his friend, who was also his cousin. “Instead of getting stressed, it’s better if you help me get Edward closer to Bella. I want Edward to slowly fall in love with her and then discard Julia like trash. When Edward’s love for Julia has faded, I’ll tell him the truth. And besides, it’ll be easier for me to retaliate against that treacherous witch. I won’t have to feel guilty or worry about Edward’s hurt feelings.”
After listening to Kairos’s explanation at length, Samuel finally understood. He handed everything over to Kairos and tried to help as much as he could.
“But, Kairos…” Samuel suddenly interrupted. “I think we could easily get Edward closer to Bella.”
“How?” Kairos asked curiously. Perhaps Samuel’s idea could be considered.
“By telling Edward that the baby Bella is carrying right now is the result of an accidental encounter between them.”
Kairos was astonished. He, who was unaware of this, was taken aback. “W-what did you say? The baby in Bella’s womb is Edward and Bella’s own child? Not Julia’s and—”
“Yes!” Samuel immediately nodded. “Actually, I shouldn’t say this because I promised Bella. But I think you should know that the baby Bella is carrying isn’t Julia’s offspring.”
Kairos, who was initially shocked, then smiled broadly.
“This latest fact seems very interesting. I’ll think carefully about what we should do next. But one thing for sure, we shouldn’t rush things with Julia.”
Samuel nodded. Reluctant to bother himself, he let Kairos devise all the strategies. After all, Samuel never doubted Kairos’s abilities, as he was the smartest among them.
