When Ysabelle turned her head around, she overheard everything Credence said. Her face immediately turned dark.
She quietly hid in the dark to observe all of his movements. She didn’t care about Dorothy’s life at all.
She was innately cold-hearted and ruthless to her children and didn’t have the loving gentleness of a mother. She only cared about her personal interests.
If Sheldon woke up and revealed everything she did, she would be finished.
In order to save herself, she had to finish Sheldon off!
Ysabelle raised her head and quietly surveyed her surroundings. Seeing that no one was paying attention to her, she tiptoed towards the bathroom at the end of the corridor.
Credence had booked the entire floor. There were no other patients or families apart from them. That’s why when Ysabelle entered the bathroom, she was the only one inside.
However, to ensure that she was safe, she locked the door from the inside. She then leaned against the door frame, took out her mobile phone from her leather bag and dialed a number.
Soon, someone answered the phone. Ysabelle was like a cat with its tail on fire when she heard hoarse, cold laughter coming from the phone. She pursed her lips and spoke in a sinisterly, sharp voice, “Haven’t your men resolved the issue yet? Didn’t I call you a few days ago to have your men kill Sheldon? Why is it that I have news he’ll be waking up today?”
On the other end of the call, the old man’s voice sounded leisurely and angry. He smiled and said, “My, what a vicious heart you have, Ysabelle! You once loved Sheldon so badly before. Are you afraid of your dirty secrets getting exposed to everyone, including Sheldon and your son?”
“Ysabelle, since you dare to do such things, then you should be brave enough to accept the consequences! Back then, because of your greed and stupidity, Yverlyn was killed. Do you think that I’d just obediently listen to you and do what you tell me to just because we slept together a couple of times? Ysabelle, I’m telling you, an old hag who’s over fifty like you is worthless to me!”
Infuriated from being called an old hag, Ysabelle’s face turned red with anger. “Jeremias, if I’m an old hag, who do you think you are? Twenty years ago, you couldn’t beat Yezoo. In order to save your life, you had to run to Jenciga. You even plotted to kill Juelz’s mother, your own wife. You used her death to plant your own fake death using your scapegoat of a chauffeur! You spent five million dollars just to find a man who resembled you. Then, you faked a car accident and pretended to be dead just so you could escape to Jenciga. After several years of hard work, you turned into one of the most frightening drug lords in Jenciga! It doesn’t matter how I found out about this, I have my own people working for me.”
“Jeremias, let me tell you this. I want you to find someone to kill Sheldon. This is of utmost importance. You must send someone to do it right now. Otherwise, don’t blame me for ignoring our old friendship and exposing all your secrets to Yezoo and Jeremy. Credence as well. If he found out that someone else was behind his mother’s death… In my opinion, your death will come sooner than mine!”
“Jeremias, you and Sheldon are just the same. You b*stards are all terrible people! Sheldon loved Yverlyn, he loved her to the point of insanity, but in the end, he made a mistake and pushed her off the balcony from the third floor, sending her to her death. But what about you? You loved Yverlyn too, but you couldn’t get her, so you hatched a malicious plan. Back then, if you hadn’t sent me to Sheldon’s bed, I wouldn’t have dreamt about him, and I wouldn’t have hoped to use a child to bind myself to Sheldon. I also wouldn’t have meddled in their marriage, leading to their falling out and ultimately causing Yverlyn’s life to be ruined.”
“You’ve never thought of it, haven’t you? After Yverlyn’s death, I gave up on my wishful dream of being by Sheldon’s side. However, your brother, Yezoo is happy with me and was willing to marry me. He was willing to give me a grand wedding. So, I agreed to marry him and become his second wife. In any case, as long as someone gives me unlimited wealth, I will marry him. After marrying Yezoo, I learned that the two of you have been fighting over the Sherman Group’s property. I then had the idea to take revenge on you.”
“Even though I hated giving birth to Jeremy, he is a brilliant man, ever since he was young. I don’t know who he takes after. Then, I pushed Jeremy to Yezoo’s side so that Yezoo would raise him to go against you. Jeremy hates me, but he respects Yezoo. In order to help Yezoo gain control of the Sherman family’s wealth, he planned a car accident. However, that accident allowed you to escape from the family.”
“After that, I heard from Jeremy and Yezoo that he got into a few fights with some drug dealers in Jenciga. They operated pretty similarly to your style. At that time, I was suspicious and spent a lot of money on investigators in Jenciga. There were plenty of clues that you were still alive. Not only did you live a good life, you even became a drug dealer who committed all manner of crimes. That’s when I finally understood everything!”
Ysabelle finished her explanation in one breath. She felt a buzz in her ears and suddenly burst out laughing. Her eyes became frenzied. She gnashed her teeth with hatred and said, “Jeremias, let’s be honest, I may just be a pawn in your hand… But, you’ll be the one to end up dead!”
“So what? Do you have the guts to confess everything to Yezoo?” Jeremias took a deep puff of his cigarette. He then said very slowly, “I have a personal distaste for people who threaten and point fingers at me! Ysabelle, I won’t be sending anyone to kill Sheldon for the time being. You’ll have to think of a way to solve this yourself. Let me be honest with you. I have a plan. A plan to kill everyone I hate.”
“What plan?” Ysabelle’s eyes quivered. She wanted to ask if her life was included. Unexpectedly, Jeremias hung up the phone and ignored her. The only sound she heard was the monotonous dial tone.
Ysabelle clenched her phone, opened the door, and walked out in her high heels. Before she left, she turned around again and swept her cold eyes around the bathroom. She noticed that all the cubicle doors were ajar, and she couldn’t see anyone around at all. Only the last gray door was slightly closed. She wasn’t sure if anyone was inside the cubicle.
If someone really was in there, that meant they would have heard all of her dirty secrets.
Everyone who knew her secret had to die!
Only the dead could keep a secret. She would only feel at ease if they were dead.
Ysabelle narrowed her eyes and took out a pistol from her leather bag. The gun was attached with a silencer. She wanted to silently kill the eavesdropper, and then, using Yezoo’s connections, wipe out all traces of the murder. No one would know that a graceful and noble lady like her had killed someone in the bathroom.
Several seconds later, Ysabelle walked over to the cubicle at the furthest end of the bathroom then reached out and slowly pulled the door open. The muzzle of her gun was aimed at the door.
Just as she was about to open the door, her phone rang. The sharp ringtone rang out loudly, causing Ysabelle to tremble. The gun in her hand fell on a white tile, causing a clattering sound.
She quickly knelt down and picked up her gun. After that, she dug her hand into the leather bag and took out her phone. When she saw that it was Yezoo calling, she quickly answered the call.
“Yezoo, I’m not feeling well, I’m in the bathroom right now. What? Dorothy is going to have an early delivery, and it might dangerous for her? Alright, I’ll be right there.”
Ysabelle quickly put the gun and the phone back into her leather bag. She straightened her body and listened quietly with her eyes narrowed. When she noticed that the whole room was quiet, she felt relieved then turned around to leave.
Her pistol had fallen to the ground, but the toilet was still as quiet as ever, which meant that no one was around.
The bathroom door creaked open and closed again. The sound of Ysabelle’s high heels moved further and further away until they could no longer be heard.
There was a gurgling sound coming from the cubicle.
After a while, a pale-faced woman slowly creeped out of the cubicle, her hands clinging to a thin layer of the door frame. Her legs were weak, and her bright forehead was riddled with sweat!
