Chapter 499 Hidden Danger

Book:My Husband Hates Me Published:2024-5-1

Jonathan’s words snapped Credence back to his senses. His face was still cold, he pursed his lips and turned around then shouted at Jonathan, “Then, what the f*ck are you still doing here? Go and get the doctors and nurses over to save my wife!”
Jonathan raised his hand against his palm, he wanted to retort. However, Credence’s temperament was absolutely terrifying. In the end, he thought that there was still too huge of a gap between them. He decided to tolerate him this one time. He went to the attending doctor and whispered with a smile, “Sir, the woman who fainted is a good friend of mine. We are extremely close. Do you think we should send her to the operating room or to the obstetrics and gynecology department?”
“Why send her to the emergency room? Hurry up and send her to obstetrics and gynecology. I can see something wrong with her belly. I have a feeling that the child is going to come out prematurely.”
“What? Isn’t she due in October? She is only seven months pregnant. Why was she going to deliver the baby so early? Wasn’t it too early for that?” Jonathan looked confused.
Credence listened to every word. After the nurse dragged a mobile hospital bed over, he placed Dorothy, who was in a coma, on the cart carefully, regardless of the fact that he was pushing his already weakened body. Then, he looked at the attending doctor with a cold stare and said, “In any case, make sure that my wife’s life is safe first.”
If the child really couldn’t survive, then it meant that it wasn’t meant to be with him and Dorothy.
So long as he tried harder in the future, they would be able to have another child.
However, if anything really did happen to Dorothy…
There wouldn’t be anything else left in his world except for emptiness and despair.
The attending doctor followed them closely as they headed in the direction of obstetrics and gynecology with a frown. Suddenly, he heard Credence’s words and he was shocked. He looked at the man’s expressionless but tender face with a perplexed look.
He had worked in the obstetrics and gynecology department for nearly 30 years. He had seen many men, and there were a lot of ugly men who would rather save their child than their wives.
The ugliest side of human nature would always be revealed at the moment when one was caught in a dilemma with no clear way out.
In the eyes of rich people, children were their real blood relatives. As for wives, they were just tools for them to produce the next generation.
If a woman died from troubled labor in the delivery room, a large number of young, beautiful women would be waiting to scream and cry to give birth to them.
Only this man, the man who was said to be the richest man in Talco City, actually took the initiative to say that his wife’s life was of the utmost importance.
The attending doctor was inexplicably moved. He felt that this person’s temperament was somewhat brash, but he was very loyal. He immediately loosened his frowns and nodded at Credence. “Don’t worry, so long as the situation isn’t too bad, I will do my best to save your wife and the child’s life.”
He said, “Thank you.”
Gazing at Dorothy, who was lying flat on the cart with a face that was paler than snow, Credence frowned.
He had let her suffer too much.
Yezoo’s face was full of anxiety and worry. He was pushed to the side by Ysabelle, who was behind his wheelchair. At first, he heard from the chief doctor that Dorothy’s child might need a premature delivery. The child was still too young. A premature delivery at this time was very likely going to be a difficult birthing process. Whether it was Dorothy or the child, they both had a low chance of survival.
All of a sudden, he heard Credence telling the doctor to save Dorothy’s life at any cost. His anxiousness for his daughter immediately melted away, and his anxious face turned calm.
Yezoo raised his head and nodded to Ysabelle behind him. He said, “Don’t worry about our daughter. Credence loves her more than I can imagine! I’m grateful that Dorothy married him. I also believe that she will be very happy in the future. I didn’t expect the people from the Scott family to be so loving!”
Upon hearing this, Ysabelle fell silent for a few seconds before she replied with a wry expression, “Yes, Dorothy will definitely be happy.”
She had understood that every man from the Scott family were great lovers from 30 years ago.
Credence treated Dorothy well, just like how Sheldon treated his wife, Yverlyn!
Back then, every beautiful young woman in Talco City wanted to replace Yverlyn’s position and become Sheldon’s lover, including Ysabelle.
The more affectionate Sheldon was towards Yverlyn, the more jealous the other women would be of her!
Soon after, she was sent to a very drunk Sheldon in his bed by his clients. She thought that she could take advantage of this opportunity. Even if she couldn’t take Yverlyn’s position, she thought she might occupy a spot in Sheldon’s heart.
For this, she made some preparations.
After a night of lingering together, if she was able to get pregnant with Sheldon’s child, then she would be able to raise her position in life and reach the glorious and prosperous upper class social circles.
She wasn’t afraid of not getting pregnant, for she had another trick up her sleeve. After all, she wanted to keep Sheldon to herself for the rest of the night.
She thought that everything would go according to plan. Who would have thought that Yverlyn would be such a stubborn and righteous person? When she found out that Sheldon had an affair, she didn’t even give Sheldon a chance to regret it. She immediately demanded a divorce. She did not want a single cent at all, all she wanted was custody of the then young Credence.
Sheldon didn’t agree to the divorce, he wouldn’t let Yverlyn go. While the two of them were arguing, Sheldon accidentally pushed Yverlyn out of the corridor on the third floor and down the hall to the first floor.
Yverlyn died on the spot, and her hopes and dreams of having Sheldon’s wealth and prosperity went down the drain.
She was worried that Sheldon would blame his wife’s death on her. In order to save her own life, she quickly got with Yezoo, who had a good relationship with Sheldon. Through some underhanded tactics, she managed to kill Mrs. Sherman, who was already sickly. She died within a few months.
After Mrs. Sherman’s death and the arrangements for Mrs. Sherman’s funeral were completed, Ysabelle married Yezoo effortlessly three months later.
Sheldon came to her wedding as well.
Because of Yezoo’s reputation, he did not displease her. The only thing he did was give her a warning.
Soon after that, seeing how sincere Yezoo was for her, and the fact that Sheldon had no feelings for her, she suppressed the feelings and love she had for Sheldon. She pretended to have never loved him.
But two days ago, she heard from Dorothy that Sheldon, who was in a vegetative state, would wake up soon. He might even wake up in a few day’s time, she was so shocked and scared that she felt like her soul had left her body.
If Sheldon told Yezoo the truth about how she didn’t love him and only married him for her own selfish interests, she would definitely have to face Yezoo’s thunderous rage and punishments.
After living with Yezoo for over 20 years, she was very clear about the fact that this man only looked gentle on the surface. If anyone ever threatened his bottom line, he would turn against them in the blink of an eye.
This was especially true on the night of their wedding. He asked her if she had anything to do with Sheldon. Back then, she denied it and firmly shook her head.
What made Ysabelle even more scared was that if Jeremy were to find out that he and Sheldon weren’t actually…
At that very moment, the more Ysabelle thought about it, the more frightened she became. Her scalp felt like it was going numb.
If Sheldon really woke up, he would definitely be a huge threat to her. Once he revealed the truth, it would definitely be a huge blow to her, and she would never have a chance at surviving.
At an angle that Yezoo couldn’t see, Ysabelle’s face tensed up, and she smiled sinisterly.
As long as the man who had died twenty years ago came back to life and was willing to help her, then Sheldon would definitely be unable to wake up. He had to die!
Ysabelle stood in the shadows behind the lights in the corridor. Her face was hidden from view.
Everyone was worried about Dorothy in the room. No one paid attention to Ysabelle at all.
Even if one occasionally glanced at her and saw her pale face, they would assume she was worried about Dorothy. None of them would think that it would be anything else.

In the delivery room, Dorothy was pushed to the examination room next door for a comprehensive physical examination in order to increase her odds of survival.
Credence stood outside the room. His tall, straight and stiff body remained motionless.
Along the way, he felt more pain and torment than anyone else.
He still had several wounds all over his body, he really shouldn’t smoke in such a situation, but he was really concerned and worried about Dorothy. He lit a cigarette and took a few heavy puffs.
As soon as he finished smoking a cigarette in his hand, his phone rang.
Credence didn’t look at the screen. He immediately answered the call, “Yes, it’s me! What?”
“My father has woken up? He’s fully conscious now? He… wants to see me now?”
