“What are you afraid of?” He asked.
Zayn casually laughed at Melanie. He stretched out his hand and wanted to touch her smooth, honey-colored face, but she slapped it away. He then simply licked his thick lips and laughed indifferently, “We have over a hundred men waiting to move in. We’ll be able to beat him to death if we want to, oh, his woman as well.”
“Still. Better to be careful!”
Melanie snorted and ignored his lascivious laughter. She looked towards the bulletproof car and the woman inside. She strode over menacingly.
As long as she could capture Dorothy, that weak little b*tch, then she didn’t have to worry about Credence.
At that moment, loud shots of gunfire rang out. It was so loud it could shake the sky.
Under the cover of night, the pungent smell of blood filled the air.
A bullet flew past Melanie’s ear, almost blowing her entire ear off. After feeling the intense pain, she touched her ear. When she felt the sticky oozing of blood in her palm, she was so angry that her eyes turned bloodshot red. She turned her head and looked to her left. She noticed Credence had pointed his gun at the jeeps, then she spat out a mouthful of spit.
“D*mn it, Credence ran over there to kill our men! I saw it clear as day. Just a while ago, all twelve of our special agents were killed. Now, I don’t even know where he’s hiding, or if he’s still killing our men! Motherf*cker!”
A special agent was shot and killed inside his car, his body fell to the ground. He didn’t even have time to scream.
It was a rough estimate, but within the blink of n eye, Credence had killed over 20 men. His speed and agility were not to be underestimated.
“I told you to be careful. It’s too late to regret it now!”
Melanie bent down and narrowed her eyes. Just as she was less than a meter away from Dorothy, she stopped and felt the stinging pain from her ear. She slowly raised her head, stuck out her tongue like a poisonous snake, and slowly searched for Credence’s position.
She knew that a weak woman like Dorothy was useless in a fight. It would be best to kill or cripple Credence first.
After she had dealt with Credence, that little b*tch Dorothy would be completely helpless, and she could do whatever she wanted to her.
However, she was wrong.
Melanie really deserved her title as the top assassin. She came up with a solution just by breathing. She narrowed her sharp eyes. In the dark of the night, she sensed Credence’s entire body behind the ridge of a simple, broken house. The man in black clothes and black pants was hidden very well. Besides that, there was a small flame that occasionally came out of his hand, it was as red as blood. From time to time, he would find the best angle and position. When he pulled the trigger, a bullet would fly out and end the life of a special agent.
It didn’t matter whether this man was a mercenary or a regular businessman, he could be the best at everything. He was the peak of perfection, and no ordinary person could ever reach his level.
Whether it was in the past or now, he was the man she respected, loved, and hated the most.
The more she couldn’t have him, the more she would pester him.
In the end, he became a crazy obsession that hung in her heart. She only wanted him, no one else!
If she couldn’t have him, then no other woman would.
She would rather destroy him and toss his bones and ashes away than let any other cheap b*tch have him.
“Credence, what’s the point of killing these agents who aren’t as good as you? Since you want to play it that way, then I’ll come for you!”
Melanie cocked the gun in her hand, and as she uttered the last word in her sentence, she aimed the gun at the man on the ridge and fired three shots in succession.
“Bang, bang, bang!” After three loud bangs, the sounds melted into the air.
As soon as Melanie fired the first shot, Credence jumped from the roof to the ground. He then sprinted around the area which was about two meters away from the bulletproof vehicle that Dorothy was hiding in. He kept turning in circles, and as he turned back, he took the opportunity to shoot down any enemy agents who were caught in his trap. He shot them one by one, with deadly accuracy.
If one died, then there was one less problem. If two died, then it would be two. It was a great deal.
Until Marvin’s reinforcements arrived, he was completely alone. He could only use this trick to buy more time for himself and Dorothy.
As time passed, Credence did not know how many circles he had run. It wasn’t until the number of bodies outside had piled up so much, that his circling became smaller and smaller. His movements gradually became sluggish. It was only then that he realized that he had pushed himself too much.
If this continued, he would either be killed by Melanie or be exhausted to death.
He had to find a way to lure Melanie and the others away so that Dorothy would have a chance to escape.
…
Inside the car, Dorothy had already tightly closed all the windows. She stared at Credence, who was outside the car, her eyes full of tears. For her safety, he chose to engage with Melanie and her men in a bloody fight, all alone. She was heartbroken.
His clothes were stained with blood. It was hard to tell whether it was his or the enemies.
He hadn’t recovered from his leg injuries yet, and he couldn’t walk very well. His steps were uneven, but being faced with so many enemies who were stronger than him, he still tried his best. He jumped and leaped about as though he wasn’t tired at all.
His face however looked exhausted, yet he continued to fight tirelessly.
If he was facing Melanie and all those men alone, he would have escaped a long time ago.
However, for her, he chose to fight them alone, swearing that he would shed the last of his sweat and blood for her!
Dorothy raised her head and looked deeply at his towering figure, tears streamed down her face. “Credence, don’t worry about me. Go! Hurry up! I don’t want… I don’t want you to die with me! Belle, our daughter needs you!”
A trace of pain flashed through her eyes. She reluctantly reached out her hand and gently touched the child in her womb. Perhaps the child felt her anxiety and determination. The child was kicking about frantically in her womb.
The kicks were so hard, Dorothy hissed from the pain.
She gritted her teeth. She continued touching belly gently with tears in her eyes, “Baby, I’m so sorry. I’m useless and can’t protect you. I have always loved your daddy, I love him a lot! So, I am willing to give my life in exchange for your daddy’s life!”
“Sorry, my baby, my sweet, little baby!”
She couldn’t do it, she couldn’t just watch Credence die in front of her.
She couldn’t sit still any longer. She had to do something for him, anything!
When the child in her womb had finally calmed down, Dorothy took a deep breath and slowly got up from her seat. She sat up and straightened her back. Her pale and slender fingers trembled as she tightly clenched the steering wheel. She gritted her teeth and stared at Credence’s weakened body. Then, she lowered her head and looked at her bulging belly. A tear slipped down from the corner of her eye.
She said, “Goodbye, Credence!”
After slowly saying goodbye to the man she had loved deeply, Dorothy narrowed her eyes. She stepped heavily on the accelerator and drove towards Melanie and Zayn.
