Chapter 449 Stopping Her Massacre

She stared at the calm man in front of him and felt uneasy. She didn’t know if he would tell her the truth, or if he would continue to hide everything to her like how he always did.
She blinked intensely, her long eyelashes covered up the panic in the depths of her eyes. Even though they flashed by very quickly, Credence was still able to see through it clearly.
Right then he finally understood, she still cared about him.
Especially from how anxiously she spoke just now, she admitted that she was his wife, his woman…
At that moment, Credence’s heart melted. It felt like the three bottles of vodka that had been stirring about in his stomach had turned into honey, causing him to smile.
He took slow but firm steps towards her. He lifted her chin and hugged her tightly. She smelled so sweet, he sighed. “Honey, I have no intention of hiding anything from you. It’s just that… this matter happened so suddenly, I didn’t have time to let you know.”
His words sounded serious, his eyes were deep and direct. He eyed her plump body shamelessly. He couldn’t hide his desires. It was vaguely visible in the depths of his long and narrow eyes.
Dorothy felt very uncomfortable and couldn’t breathe properly. She took two steps back. Her pale and pointed chin moved away from his warm fingers. She pouted her lips and put on a serious face. “Then, tell me now, I’m listening.”
“Okay.” Credence’s deep gaze quietly fixed on her, and the smile on his lips grew warmer. “Melanie just escaped from prison. Jeremy was the one who sprung her out.”
“What?”
Dorothy’s thin eyebrows knitted up slightly, and her voice trembled. “Why did Jeremy free her from prison? Credence, he wants to kill you by using Melanie, doesn’t he? I don’t understand why he is so intent on killing you. If Mr. Sherman and his wife are really my biological parents, then Jeremy is my half-brother, right? Why would he do that? Doesn’t he know we’re actually related?”
After listening to Dorothy’s doubts, Credence fell silent.
At first, he had no intention of telling her about the complicated relationship between Jeremy, Ysabelle, and his father, Sheldon. After all, the past was in the past. Even if Dorothy knew about it, it wouldn’t help at all. It might even put a strain on their relationship.
However, at this moment, since Dorothy had asked him, he was in a dilemma. He had no choice but to answer her.
She had just started to trust him again, it was still so very fragile. Any sudden doubts would very likely blow and chances he had left in redeeming himself to her.
He dared not hide things from her anymore, he wouldn’t risk it anymore.
Having thought that, Credence frowned. His voice was soft and gentle. There wasn’t a trickle of emotion as he spoke. Very slowly, he explained. “It’s because Jeremy hates the Scott family, he hates my father.”
This only further confused Dorothy.
She parted her lips and blinked. She looked at Credence who had a cold look on his face and asked, “Why does he hate your father? How come I don’t know about this?”
Credence’s face fell, he didn’t know how to explain it to her.
The problem was that she was related to Ysabelle, and Ysabelle and Sheldon’s old affair led to his mother’s death, it was simply too complicated.
It was really quite difficult to explain the whole thing in such a short amount of time.
Moreover, he needed to rush over to the city hospital to meet up with Jonathan as soon as possible. The little girl with skin cancer was the most important person to them right now.
She was Belle’s only hope.
Credence’s face was immensely stiff, but he looked at her tenderly. “As to why Jeremy hates my father and the Scott family, it’s hard for me to explain all of it to you right now. I have to hurry over to the city hospital, I’ll tell you everything after I get back, okay?”
Dorothy rolled her eyes a few times before finally agreeing. She nodded and said, “You can go. It’s really late. Please drive safely.”
Her gentle expression was exactly the same as the petite woman he had fallen in love with and married all those years ago. This greatly warmed Credence’s heart. He smiled joyfully and said, “Okay, I will be careful along the way!”
Then, he opened his arms and gently embraced Dorothy in his broad chest. He bowed his head, smiled, and quickly kissed her on the lips. He said in a hoarse voice, “I will give you a night to remember when I get back.”
His promise wasn’t as pure as it sounded. It was clear that he had other intentions in mind.
Having understood his intentions, Dorothy blushed and pushed him away. When her palms touched his chest, she felt warm and enticed.
After being pushed away by her, Credence didn’t linger around any longer. He stared at her for a few seconds before turning around and rushed into the elevator without looking back.
Dorothy watched him take every painful step into the elevator. He knew that his injuries hadn’t healed yet, but he was already on his way to handle things. She felt sorry for him.
She stood on the spot and thought about the conversation they had. Then she realized something. She had a feeling in her gut that when Credence returned to explain things to her, it would be a very difficult truth to accept. But she wouldn’t be able to do anything about it anyway.
However, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t understand what it was. So she simply stopped thinking about it. She walked slowly into her ward, got onto her bed, and closed her eyes to rest.
She could rest easy, since Juelz and Germaine were taking care of Belle.

Credence didn’t go directly to the lobby on the first floor. Instead, he took a detour and went towards the emergency room.
Belle’s gums started bleeding profusely that afternoon, and she was sent to the emergency room for treatment. Despite her condition having been stabilized, her health was still deteriorating, anything could happen to her at any moment. So, under the doctor’s recommendation, Belle was asked to stay put that she could be rescued in time if anything went wrong.
Credence pushed the door open and entered. Coincidentally, he bumped into Juelz, who was just about to leave.
The two of them looked at each other for a few seconds, and their eyes were filled with contempt. In the end, it was Credence who broke the silence. “Let’s talk outside. There is something urgent I need to tell you.”
“What do you have to say to me in the middle of the night?” Juelz shouted rudely, he was filled with hatred.
Every time he saw this b*stard who hurt Dorothy so badly, he felt extremely gloomy and angry.
Due to how urgent the matter was, Credence didn’t care for Juelz’s unreasonable and rude attitude. Moreover, with Juelz’s current status, Credence had no right to argue with him.
He kept silent and looked at him coldly. His voice was deep and calm. “I’ll keep it short. Melanie had just escaped from prison! The first thing she will do after getting out is to destroy me, she will do this by destroying Belle’s only hope for survival. After that, she will definitely be out to hurt me and my daughter.”
“Right now, I need to meet up with Jonathan and ensure that the little girl whose bone marrow is a match for Belle’s is kept safe. We’ll have to depend on you to keep Belle safe. You’re the only one we can trust.”
I’m the only one they can trust? What the f*ck!
Juelz’s face was rigid, and he cursed in his heart. But since it was related to Dorothy and Belle’s safety, he remained silent.
Just the thought of Melanie alone was enough of a threat. If she really wanted to do something to Dory and Belle, he really shouldn’t underestimate her.
That crazy woman who should be dead was extremely talented and cruel. Credence had to be the one to deal with her.
However, if he did that, Dory, who had finally trusted Credence, would start to overthink things again.
Women were beings who took great importance when it came to relationships, they would never be able to forget the person they first slept with.
Love was such a pain in the butt!
Juelz wiped his face and frowned. “Okay, I know what to do. Get out of here.”
“Good, thank you.”
Credence licked his thin and dry lips hard and gave Jeremy a slight nod. Then, he turned around and gave Jeremy a hard kick, then rushed into the elevator as fast as he could.
Only by rushing to the city hospital as soon as possible could he stop the massacre that Melanie was about to start!
