Chapter 416 He Cares Too Much About Her

Marvin walked alongside Jonathan. He stared at the closed doors of the operating room and pinched his temples. “Juelz and Germaine came by. It was more convenient for them to take care of Dorothy and Belle, so I came to see Credence. Why is he still having surgery? Did Credence get into an accident?”
“He did. A very serious one.”
Jonathan took out his cigarette and flicked it into the trash can. He looked worried and anxious. “Marv, you didn’t see it with your own eyes. You don’t know how much he’s suffered. He almost broke both of his legs!”
“When he walked into my office, he was gritting his teeth, holding in all that pain. He wanted me to go to the organ storage center to find a suitable bone marrow for Belle. After talking to him, I noticed he was walking very strangely, so I helped him onto the sofa. As… As soon as Credence touched the sofa, he fell over backward and lost consciousness.”
Jonathan began to sob. He clenched his fist and punched the wall. He leaned his forehead against it, and his eyes had turned red. “I rushed over and tried to lift him up, only to find that the joints of his two calves were protruded out. Fortunately, there was still a layer wrapping it together, it wasn’t completely broken. Otherwise, Credence’s legs would have broken apart.”
As he explained Credence’s wound, Jonathan was still in a great shock, and broke out in a cold sweat.
Marvin sighed. “Credence worries too much for Dorothy.”
Marvin knew Credence quite well. He wasn’t the type to easily fall in love with other people. But once he did, he would love that person completely. He would love that woman deeply for the rest of his life. He might even abandon his own life for her.
Credence did just that for Dorothy today. In fact, this was something Marvin had expected him to do ever since they got together.
This was true for any couple who loved each other, whether male or female. In the end, they would still have to face the bitterness and hardships of love.
Marvin recalled that he had other matters at hand. He turned towards Jonathan and asked, “It’s been four hours, have you a match for Belle yet?”
If they could find a matching bone marrow, it would be a huge relief for Credence and Dorothy’s mental state.
If they still haven’t found it yet, it was very likely that both Credence and Dorothy would not rest until they did.
“We are still searching for it. As of now, there haven’t been any matches.”
Jonathan was so stressed out that his hair almost turned white. He shook his head and sighed. “Marv, I don’t understand, this is so difficult! Juelz has searched for a match for over five years, and he never even found one. Now, we only have three and a half months. This is impossible. We need a miracle.”
Marvin frowned deeply. “I thought Belle still had four months to live?”
“Are you stupid?” Jonathan hissed. He reached out and roughly poked Marvin in the chest. “After finding the right bone marrow, we have to strengthen Belle’s body until she can physically withstand the pain from the operation, and other various complications after the surgery to make sure that everything is foolproof.”
Marvin was silent for a while then sighed. “Credence hasn’t done any truly harmful things in his life. Why did he do to deserve this?”
“Who knows!” Jonathan’s eyes flickered as he recalled some gossip about Marvin. He went up to him and asked, “Marv, I heard that you broke up with that military doctor? She didn’t know your real identity and hooked up with one of your father’s subordinates. F*ck, since you liked her so much, why didn’t you tell her who you really were? Now that rabbit has slipped away, and you didn’t even get a chance to touch her. That was pretty dumb, huh?”
“At first, she told me that she didn’t care about fame or wealth, she said that she liked me for who I was.”
Marvin frowned. “I’ve never been very close with women in the past. I didn’t know Yevia at the time, so I believed her. As I got to know her, I realized that she wasn’t the simple woman I thought she was. She said that she didn’t want any branded bags or jewelry, but secretly she did. During our three-month-long relationship, the most expensive gift I ever gave her was some lipstick that cost 155 dollars. She was quite happy at that time. At least, I could see from her face that she looked happy.”
“Later, my father’s subordinate’s son, Jayden, was assigned to my group. He was of average strength and skill, but he was generous and was willing to spend his money. Soon, many of the women in the group took a liking to him, including Yevia. But she didn’t show it, and it was too late by the time I found out.”
“I was never on good terms with Jayden. His father thought that he was outstanding and believed he should take over my father’s position in the group. He failed. He had been working for my father for more than 20 years.”
“Last week, during an exercise drill, I gave Jayden a sound beating. That’s when he realized that Yevia and I were in a relationship. He would throw money at her and buy her everything she wanted to make her happy.’
“Just like that, Yevia had completely fallen for Jayden. Two days ago, when I went back to the army, she broke up with me.”
Once he started talking, he couldn’t stop.
It all happened so quickly. Since he was occupied with Credence in dealing with Melanie, and Yevia decided to break up with him at the same time. He didn’t have the time or company to talk about it.
When Jonathan asked him about it, all the pain he had welled up in his heart started to unravel. Marvin told him everything.
Once he finished, the reality of a simple breakup wasn’t as devastating as he thought it would be.
Yevia was the first woman he ever had feelings for, she was also his first girlfriend. He planned to take things slow with her. After a few months, he would take her home to meet his parents.
He did not expect things to end just like that.
“F*ck, Marv, what do you want me to say to you?”
Jonathan was looking at Marvin, he looked so gloomy. He wanted to mock him, but since Marin was so much faster than he was, he decided not to. He gave Marvin a friendly pat on the shoulder, raised his eyebrows, and said with a faint smile. “Women are all the same, if they like something, you should buy it for them. If she likes power and status, then you should show her your villa, let her know what real power is. Jayden is a nobody. He isn’t worthy enough to wipe your ass.”
“Of course, if it’s Yevia you want, brother, I can help you with that. I can help you get her back. I promise you, that numbskull Jayden will get what he deserves.”
“Bullshit!”
Marvin seemed more lively now. He shouted at Jonathan, who was enthusiastic to help his situation. “She’s already slept with Jayden. Why on earth would I want a woman like that?”
“What the f*ck, Marv, I… Haha, you’re pretty good-looking when you’re angry! Yevia may prefer money, but I like you!”
“F*ck off!”
Marvin kicked him hard. Jonathan flew towards the wall and nearly got his nose flattened.
Jonathan jumped back and was a few meters away from Marvin as he cursed, “F*ck, Marv, you actually attacked me over a woman, how could you?”
“It’s just one woman! You are the eldest son of the Jules family. You could have an army of women crying and begging you to marry them if you commanded it. There are so many women out there, why don’t you just simply find one and f*ck them?”.”
“Shut your mouth shut!”
Marvin snorted, but a small smile was forming on his solemn face.
After speaking with Jonathan, his foul mood that had been festering within him was slowly melting away.
He was right. She was just a woman who didn’t really love him. She wasn’t worth it.
The red indicator lights of the operating room went out. Soon after, Credence was pushed out by Minnie and a female doctor. They were ready to send him into a VIP warp that Jonathan had arranged earlier.
