Inside the bathroom.
Credence didn’t turn on the shower. Instead, he turned the tap above the basin. When it was half-filled with water, he scooped some water up with his well-defined hands and poured it onto his handsome face.
Crystal clear drops of water poured down from his sharp forehead, ran down his straight nose, thin lips, and powerful chin. The water landed on his strong chest and rolled all the way down.
Even amidst the sounds of rushing water, he was listening attentively to the sounds outside.
Credence took a black bathrobe from the cabinet and used it to dry off of his body. He then put the bathrobe on.
The water vapor in the bathroom blurred his vision, causing him to squint. He suddenly turned around and stared at the closed door. His expression was very serious.
Sure enough, he heard footsteps slowly approaching him from afar. They were getting closer.
The door swung open from the outside. Credence spotted a slender figure rush in from the outside at a very fast speed.
He didn’t have to wait long. Melanie was ready for him.
The woman who entered had neat short hair and a pair of grey tight-fitting leather pants. She stood in front of Credence and gave him a very seductive smile. “Credence, I can read you like an open book. You pretended to take a shower to draw me out. I wasn’t planning to show up so soon, but I couldn’t resist.”
She stuck out her tongue and licked her red lips. “Credence, it’s useless to keep me here. I didn’t come alone tonight. There are several skilled assassins with me. I’ve called at least sixty people over.”
“I may not be a match for you in a one-on-one fight. But with so many of them coming at you at once, you’ll be overwhelmed. Then we’ll see what you’ll do against me.”
“Tonight, not only will I make you mine for the rest of your life. I’m going to kill that weak b*tch you love!”
Seeing that sinister woman’s determined smile, Credence was as calm as ever. His pupils looked like they had daggers in them as he stared at Melanie. “If you dare touch her, I’ll make sure you suffer a fate that’s a hundred times worse.”
Melanie had heard all kinds of threats made on her life. So she wasn’t the least bit scared of him at all. She simply smiled back. She admired his charming eyes, the very same pair she’s deeply imprinted in her heart for all these years. “Credence, you know me. As long as I want something, even if it’s another man, I will have it. All these years apart, you’ve gone and fallen in love with another woman, Dorothy. I don’t blame her, because even if she never met you, you would have fallen for some other woman.”
“But now I’m back. You are the only man I’ve ever really admired and deeply loved. You, the only man worthy of me. I can’t let that weak b*tch steal you away, that’s why she has to die tonight.”
“Didn’t you take all those sweet photos and videos of her just to provoke me? Well, Credence I’m right in front of you, I’m exactly where you want me. So long as you are willing, I can give you everything, even my body.”
As she spoke, she placed her slender fingers on the zipper of her leather jacket. With a loud ripping sound, she unzipped her top, revealing her black bra which tightly wrapped her breasts. The light glimmered on her smooth, fair skin throughout her seductive figure.
As she approached Credence she tore off more of her clothes. Just as she placed her hands behind her back to unclasp her bra…
Credence broke his silence.
“When you strip naked, you look like a flat-chested man. You look way better with your clothes on.”
Being mocked by the very man she loved was a huge blow to her self-esteem. Especially when it came to the size of her breasts.
Melanie was a proud woman. Her eyes widened with rage. Her right hand slid down towards her waist. She drew out a pistol and aimed it at Credence’s chest. Her eyes were glaring menacingly at him. “Credence, don’t push me. You know I love you and only you! I want you, I want your love, I’ve wanted it for so very long!”
“Love? You? Don’t make me sick!”
Credence looked at the gun in her hand and took note of the muzzle. His eyes flashed with killing intent. “If you really loved me, you wouldn’t shoot me right after we’ve just met. On top of that, you shot me six times in a row as I fell to the bottom of that cliff all those years ago! You’ve never loved me, the only person you’ve ever loved was yourself.”
“Credence, I’m sorry. I really had no choice back then. I never wanted to kill you.”
Melanie’s lips twitched. As she was about to continue talking, a sharp wind whirled and whistled past her ear like an arrow.
Credence had jumped up and fiercely struck the arm she held the gun with.
It was a killing move, with the intent of breaking her arm.
If she pulled the trigger, she might shoot him in the head. But if she didn’t, one of her arms would break.
“No room for mercy at all, that’s so you Credence!”
Melanie narrowed her eyes and sneered. She waited for the right moment and dodged. She swiftly aimed the gun at Credence’s leg.
She laughed arrogantly as she pulled the trigger. “This is great. The more ruthless you are, the faster she’ll die! I found Dorothy’s ward after looking through the surveillance tapes. She almost had a miscarriage, her body is extremely weak, she’s helpless, she can’t even run. These people I’ve brought along all have very perverted hobbies, especially towards pregnant mothers. If Dorothy isn’t dead already, I might offer her a chance to live.”
She had a very difficult angle to hit him with. But she was confident Credence wouldn’t be able to avoid it this time.
As long as she shot one of his legs, she’d have a thousand ways to steal him away and make him her man.
He suddenly jumped up into the air and grabbed the shower head. With a dextrous leap, he crossed over to the other side of the room and narrowly dodged the bullet. Then, he whipped out a pistol from his pocket and fired directly at Melanie’s heart.
Bang!
Melanie leaned over and dodged it. The bullet pierced the door frame, leaving a small hole.
The fight continued, each shot was met with another until both of their guns were empty. Amazingly, neither of them was hurt.
“Credence, I had hoped that you’d show me the same kind of ferocity in bed as you do right now.” Melanie was trying to provoke him, but Credence was unmoved.
The two of them tossed their guns aside and fought in hand-to-hand combat for several minutes. They were evenly matched.
Melanie was surprisingly stronger than before. Credence decided to feint his next move. As Melanie reached out for his hand to counter his grip, he swiftly jumped up and kicked her in the lower abdomen.
Melanie was caught off guard and flew out of the bathroom. She landed in the corridor and her face was grimacing from the pain.
She was on her period today, it was bad luck on her side. She let out a soft groan from the pain after being mercilessly kicked in the abdomen. She was having to deal with two levels of pain tonight.
“Hiss!”
Just as she was about to leap up, Melanie’s eyes contracted. A sharp light shot out from Credence’s hands towards her throat!
At that moment, rapid footsteps could be heard from the other end of the corridor. The rumbling of footsteps shook the walls.
