Chapter 403 We Will Die Together

A Lamborghini was parked between the trees outside the building.
“Boss, we’re in position. It looks like Melanie’s goons are fighting with Credence’s men right now. If we enter at the right time, this won’t be too much trouble. This time, with Melanie making the first more, we’ll have the upper hand. Credence won’t survive the night.”
Wilson got out of the driver’s seat, and he walked around the car to open the passenger door.
Jeremy slowly stepped out of the car. He had a lazy smile on his face. His eyes were dim and calculative. “You think too much. Melanie sees Credence as some sort of reward. Until she completely owns him, she’d never kill him.”
“She may be reluctant to kill Credence, but not you, Boss.” Wilson smiled. “When you make your move, Credence won’t stand a chance. He’s as good as dead tonight.”
The moment Jeremy stepped into the hall, he spotted a pool of blood at the entrance of the elevator. There were a couple of unconscious people on the floor. His eyes narrowed. “Wilson, what color were Melanie’s men wearing tonight?”
Wilson followed him from behind. “They were wearing gray. What’s wrong?”
He slowly raised his chin. “Look there. Are these useless pieces of trash Melanie’s?”
Wilson snapped back to reality. Sensing something was very wrong, he walked towards the unconscious men and pulled their collars back. They each had a black skull tattoo on their necks. His body tensed up from worry, then he nodded. “Yes, Boss, these are Melanie’s men, and they’re all dead. They’ve been shot through the heart.”
Jeremy listened attentively to the occasional sounds of soft thumps coming from upstairs. He recognized the sounds as bullets entering bodies.
If Melanie’s goons really did have the upper hand, things wouldn’t be so quiet.
In other words, because it was so quiet, it was very likely that Credence had the upper hand.
If he and Wilson went up now, it would be suicide.
Jeremy’s intuition was always on point. This had saved him countless times.
He put out his cigarette, immediately turned around and left.
Wilson followed him with a confused look. “Boss, aren’t we going to help Melanie and Juelz take on Credence together?”
Why was he leaving without saying anything?
“If you don’t want to die, follow me.”
Jeremy wasn’t going to waste his breath. His eyebrows furrowed furiously. “F*ck, we almost fell into his trap. Credence isn’t someone to mess around with. He really is a worthy adversary.”
No wonder Credence released all those videos and photos of him with Dorothy. It was all a trap, he had been waiting for them.
He was going to kill two birds with one stone.
By the time Wilson got into the car, he was still in shock. “Boss, how did you figure out Credence’s scheme before we even went upstairs?”
“A brain is a useful tool, you should use it sometimes!”
Jeremy leaned back on his seat. “From the way those men died at the elevator, I spotted trails of blood splashes and calculated the way their bodies twisted. If my guess is correct, they were sniped from a well-placed position, rather than a direct ambush.”
“Wow, Boss, you figured all that out just from their dead bodies, you’re awesome!”
“If I didn’t see all that, I would have died a million times already.”
Jeremy had a smug smile on his face. He suddenly realized something. “Did you see Juelz anywhere?”
“I didn’t see him, he hasn’t called or texted me either.” Wilson quickly drove the car around and left the area. He frowned and said, “I’ll call his assistant Sontha.”
“No need!”
Jeremy was furious. “He couldn’t bear the thought of hurting Dorothy. He ditched us tonight.”
“But she’s just a woman, and she’s Credence’s woman. Why would Juelz care so much about her?”
“What would you know!”
Jeremy’s tone was deep and gruff. He lit a cigar, took a huff, and exhaled some thick white smoke. “When you’ve fallen for a woman, you should know that she’ll become a burden and your weakness! You’ll be reluctant to hurt her. You’ll always put her feelings first, even if it means going against the entire world!”
Wilson had always been clueless. But this made sense to him. He smiled and spoke brazenly. “Like how you treat Miss Germaine, Boss? You’re always so careful with her. You’re don’t want to see her fail, and you especially go out of you to not hurt her.”
Jeremy shot him a cold stare and scoffed. “Would you believe me if I told you that I’m going to blow your brains out, so you’d keep your mouth shut?”
“I’m sorry Boss. I’ll shut up.”
Wilson shrunk back from Jeremy. He didn’t dare to speak up again.
Along the way, he recalled the latest updates he received from their spies. There was news about Germaine. He mustered up the courage to speak. “Ahem, well, it seems that there is someone pursuing Miss Germaine. He appears to be the chief doctor. He is quite handsome, the type that a lot of girls go for.”
“Boss, do you need me to get some men to give this guy a good beating? It’s best to cut up his face and tell him not to have any ideas about Miss Germaine.”
“Is he better looking than me?”
“I guess so, but you’re clearly better looking.” Wilson still had to pay lip service to his boss after all.
Jeremy sneered, “Germaine doesn’t even like my own handsome face, would she fall for a guy who doesn’t even look as good as me?”
Wilson was speechless.
At the next intersection, as the traffic lights turned red, Jeremy barked an order. “Turn left, let’s go to the hospital.”
Wilson was very confused. “Why are we going to the hospital?”
“To visit Germaine, and to take a look at this rival mine.”

At the same time, in an empty corridor.
Melanie heard the fast-approaching footsteps. She carefully listened to them and realized that something was wrong. Her face snapped back to face Credence before she jumped up from the ground. A dagger whizzed towards her.
Thud!
With a muffled sound, the dagger pierced through her chest. Blood spilled out like a fountain, and the air was filled with the strong smell of blood.
The sharp pain in her heart didn’t slow her down. In fact, it made her go even crazier. She wasn’t afraid to die, so she rushed towards Credence as fast as she could. With tremendous force, she grabbed his waist and leaped through the open window together with him.
She was going to fall to her death with Credence. She tightly wrapped herself around him, not giving him the slightest chance of escape.
“Credence, let’s die together! If I can’t have you while I’m alive, then I’ll have you in death, that would be a life well-lived!”
