Juelz was caught off guard. He was so shocked he took two steps back. Suddenly, he raised his head and saw the face of the man who came over like a gust of wind. He raised his eyebrows. “What the f*ck, Marvin? Why are you here?”
Marvin had finally found him, and he wasn’t going to beat around the bush. He immediately stared at Juelz and bluntly asked. “Are you really considering working together with Jeremy and Melanie to fight against Credence?”
“How did you know?” Juelz frowned. “Marvin, you’ve been stalking me!”
Marvin glanced at him and sneered, “I’m not that bored.”
Juelz wasn’t stupid. He figured out everything. Marvin must have asked someone to follow Melanie, and that person followed her here.
“Melanie is in room 1606. If you think you’re good enough, go and get her. Don’t put on this bullsh*t in front of me.”
Marvin found this very funny. He took a step forward and said very imposingly. “I am not here for her, I am here for you. Juelz, you only want Jeremy to help you get rid of Credence so you can take Dorothy away from him. But do you know what kind of woman Melanie is?”
“As long as I get what I want, I don’t have to care who she is.” Juelz sneered.
“Melanie is one of the best assassins in Jenciga. She’s done all kinds of evil things, including drug trafficking and illegal arms trading. More than 100 people have died under her hands, yet here you are cooperating with her. On the surface, she says her target is Credence, but let’s be honest, she will never let Dorothy go. Juelz, you are no match for Melanie. I’d advise you to stop all this, or you’ll only end up hurting Dorothy.”
“I know what I’m doing, and I don’t need your fake kindness.”
Juelz was done talking. He strode past Marvin’s and went straight to the bathroom.
A few minutes later, Marvin had left. The whole place was empty.
Juelz lit a cigarette and walked back to the room. As he was about to open the door, he recalled what Marvin had told him in the bathroom. He slowly opened the door and opened a small gap into the room. He listened in on the conversation.
Juelz heard Melanie’s cold and murderous laughter coming from inside the room.
“Jeremy, the person you’ve invited looks really stupid. Let’s pray he doesn’t delay our plans.”
Jeremy laughed alongside her. “All you want is Credence, right? What else do you want?”
“I want that weakling Dorothy as well. I’ll never let her go. I know Credence loves her, and Credence will only ever truly be mine once she’s dead!”
“I am only responsible for helping you deal with Credence. As for Dorothy, that’s your business, I won’t get involved.”
…
Upon hearing this, Juelz felt his entire being filled with anger. He could not wait to rush in and tear that vicious woman into pieces.
He then came to his senses and realized that this was Jeremy’s territory. If they had a fight, he would only end up dead.
Juelz suppressed his anger. He assessed the situation and silently took two steps back. Once the talking ended, he abruptly opened the door and walked in. As he did, he took a few puffs of his cigarette. Through the smoke, he glanced at Jeremy and Melanie and said, “Are you two finished? We should proceed according to the plan. I quite like it. If there are any changes to it, call me and let me know. I still have things to attend to in my company, so I’ll be taking my leave.”
Melanie raised her eyebrows and gave an extremely charming smile. “This is our first time working together. I hope that it remains a pleasant one. Of course, if you rat us out, I will never let you go!”
“Why would I do that?”
Juelz snorted and ignored her. He was actually a little worried inside. He turned around and left without looking back.
Juelz did not let out a sigh of relief until he entered his car.
Before arriving for the meeting, he was filled with jealousy, hatred, and anger towards Credence. He didn’t hesitate to join up with Jeremy, as wanted nothing more than to give Credence a sound beating. Even if he wouldn’t kill him, he would beat him into a pulp.
However, after he arrived, he overheard the conversation between Melanie and Jeremy, and he now regretted it.
Not only did Melanie want Credence, but she also had no intention of letting Dory go either.
Judging from that woman’s tone, he was sure that she would kill everyone that was in her way.
As for Jeremy, he was just waiting to reap the rewards from their vengeance.
Juelz frowned. His expression was so grim and depressed.
He wouldn’t get anything out of this, so why would he continue with it?
Were both of them simply treating him like a fool?
Jeremy was right, he hated Credence so much that he wanted nothing more than for him to die.
But it was due to his selfishness that Dorothy was almost r*ped by Hugo. Juelz swore that he would never hurt Dorothy ever again.
After sitting in the car for a while, Juelz took out his phone and sent Credence a short message.
It was a really short message, “Be careful of Jeremy and Melanie.”
Credence simply replied. “Thank you.”
After staring at that reply for a little while, Juelz deleted it.
He had done everything he could. There was nothing left for him to do.
…
The intensive care department of the hospital looked ordinary on the surface. In truth though, Jonathan had it heavily guarded and with all kinds of hidden sentries.
In a very well-arranged ward, Jonathan was laying down on the sofa. He squinted as he read the latest news headlines. From the corner of his eyes, he noticed that Credence had a strange look on his face as he looked at his phone. He asked, “Credence, who messaged you?”
“Juelz.” Credence was standing by the window, enjoying a cigarette.
“Huh, Juelz actually sent you a message? Has he lost his mind or something?”
“He told me to watch out for Jeremy and Melanie.” Credence said slowly, and a menacing look appeared in his deep, dark eyes.
Jonathan was dumbstruck. “Are Melanie and Jeremy working together? That’s strange. Isn’t that pervert always involved with Dorothy’s best friend, I mean, Germaine, that infamous woman? Why does that psychopath Jeremy want to go up against you?”
Upon hearing this, Credence paused for a moment with his cigarette resting between his fingers. He lowered his head and replied to Juelz. He completely ignored Jonathan’s question.
This was regarding his father’s secret romantic affair, Victor had yet to find any evidence though. He did not know how to explain it to Jonathan, so he ignored his question.
Jonathan didn’t mind being ignored. After browsing the headlines, he changed the subject. “Credence, since we’ve planted all the bait, when do you think Melanie will make her move? I getting so f*cking impatient already.”
“With my understanding of her, not much longer. She should take action within the next two days.”
Credence frowned. His face looked menacingly sharp and alert. Not a trace of humanity was on it.
…
Two days later, near midnight, the nursing department was extremely silent.
Two thick doors which were tightly shut on the first floor were easily unlocked with the help of a special tool.
A group of sneaky silhouettes quietly entered and rushed towards the VIP ward on the top floor.
