Chapter 397 Why Do You Want To Go Against Her

After being tormented by Credence all night, Dorothy slept in until it was late in the morning.
She hadn’t slept so soundly for a very long time. She lazily relaxed in bed and didn’t move an inch.
The ward was quiet. No one else was around.
She knew that around this time, Belle must have been taken to the inspection room by Juelz and Germaine for her daily routine examination.
The examination was to see if the white blood cell count in her body had increased, as well as to determine the best day for her treatment.
Dorothy heard a slight clicking sound at the door. She thought that Germaine and the others had come back. She did not think much about it. Her eyes were still closed, as she stretched her hand out to gently scratch herself.
She didn’t know why, but when she was pregnant with Belle before, there wasn’t anything wrong with her body. But now, when she was pregnant with her second child, either her stomach, calves, or muscles would cramp up. Sometimes her skin would itch. It itched so badly she would get very uncomfortable.
Suddenly she felt someone gently lift up her quilt, placed their hands on her calf, and gently scratched it.
The scratching wasn’t too rough or too light; it was just right. Dorothy felt relieved.
Without opening her eyes, she let out a comfortable sigh. “Germaine, more to the left, down a little, a little more, that’s right, that’s the spot. Help me scratch it for a bit.”
The hand which was scratching her slowly moved upwards along her pants to her thighs. Dorothy sensed that something was wrong. She opened her eyes and saw a man’s deep and soft eyes. He was staring right at her.
She couldn’t stand it anymore. She silently reached out and pushed his hand away. She withdrew her foot and forcefully suppressed that familiar throbbing feeling in her chest. She pretended to be indifferent and asked, “Credence, what are you doing here?”
Dorothy heard him chuckle. He gently lifted up her chin.
Credence held her face and looked at her. The corners of his lips lifted slightly. “I hurt your hands last night, so I’m here to check in on you.”
He still had the audacity to talk about her hands?
If he hadn’t pleaded with her to do that for him, she wouldn’t have hurt her hands!
Dorothy glared at him, clearly showing how upset she was. “Don’t worry, I won’t die from that! Now that you’ve seen me, you can go.”
She wasn’t mentally prepared for this. She thought that it was Germaine who was scratching her. She wasn’t expecting him to suddenly appear out of nowhere, and he was even massaging her calf.
So what if he was doing all that?
Ever since he almost made her lose her child, she never wanted anything to do with him again.
If she had such drastic mood swings, it would be dangerous for the child in her womb. She might accidentally injure her child.
This was why she didn’t want to see him again.
When Credence noticed how badly she wanted him gone, he had mixed feelings. He gazed longingly at her. “You really don’t want to see me, do you?”
Dorothy saw the guilt in his eyes. Although this moved her, she pretended not to notice it and spoke coldly. “Of course, who would be willing to see a murderer who almost caused me to have a miscarriage? If there’s nothing else, then you’d better leave. I don’t need you, and I won’t ever need you in the future.”
Credence lowered his gaze and stared at her face that was flush red. He was very obviously hurt by what she said. “Then, who do you need? Juelz? As long as I’m still alive, you can forget about having a future with Juelz.”
“Who said that I wanted anything to do with Juelz? Forget it, I don’t want to talk to you. Just leave, now.”
Dorothy sniffed. She felt that her conversation with this man was getting increasingly ridiculous. She looked away and ignored him. The atmosphere was quiet and awkward.
Credence felt the anger in Dorothy’s words. He held his breath for a moment. She had even turned her head to prevent him from touching her chin. He raised his eyes and slowly opened his mouth. “I have something to attend to for the next few days. So, I might not have time to see you. Be good, take care of yourself and Belle. Ask Boden for help if you need anything.”
Dorothy knew who Boden was. He was a polite young man. Every time he saw her and Belle, he would smile politely at them. He always followed them quietly from behind to protect them.
At first, Dorothy thought that Boden was a bodyguard that Juelz had hired. Now, she knew that Boden was actually working for Credence. That made sense.
Dorothy nodded. “I’m going to have breakfast. I don’t feel comfortable around you.”
There was a small gap between the light blue curtains from the windows in the ward. The sunshine from the autumn sun shone on her red face to her bright red lips. It made her look exceptionally beautiful.
“How come? You are my wife, and I am your husband. You should feel at ease with me.”
Credence’s fingers could not help but reach for Dorothy’s lips. Just as he was about to touch her, his mobile phone began to ring.
Credence was startled. His body stiffened. After glancing at the name of the caller, he quickly stood up and walked towards the window.
“Marvin, what is it?”
Marvin’s voice was solemn. “Credence, my men saw Melanie and Jeremy together with Juelz. I think the three of them have decided to join forces to take you down. Be careful on your way to Dorothy.”
Credence had expected Jeremy to be working with Melanie.
After all, both of them were terrible people. As long as they had the same motives, they were bound to work together sooner or later.
But why was Juelz with them?
Was it because of what happened the other night? Was he that agitated?
Credence raised his hand and massaged his temples. “It doesn’t matter. I’ve made arrangements for everything. Even if Melanie chooses to cooperate with them, she won’t be able to do much.”
After hanging up, he turned around and walked towards the hospital bed. Only to find Dorothy, who was impatiently driving him away a moment ago, was now looking at him in confusion with her crystal clear eyes.
“What’s wrong?” Credence walked over to her. Seeing as she wasn’t objecting, he took her hand and carefully removed the gauze. He found that the swelling on her hands had mostly dissipated, and the dark marks around it had faded. Credence felt relieved. He opened the medical box on the table, took out the disinfectant, and changed her dressing.
He really missed her over the past month. He hadn’t had s*x with her for about a month. He held in his desires for so long that he felt something was wrong with his body.
But with her physical condition, he wouldn’t let himself do anything to her. In the end, he had to resort to an alternative. That was to use her hands to quench his desires.
After all, he wanted her so badly the night before. He was too rough, which was why her hands got injured.
Dorothy was deep in thought, she let him fiddle with her hands. But after a while, she couldn’t help but ask the question that had been in her mind the entire night.
“Credence, why are you suddenly going against Melanie? Did you two have a falling out?”
