Chapter 377 Are You Really Going To Cut All Ties?

Half an hour later, Credence and Marvin arrived in the president’s office of the Scott Group’s building.
Credence’s expressions returned to normal, there was nothing odd about him. Jonathan and Benjamin opened the door and entered. He nodded at Marvin to open the map which noted all of Talco City’s hospitals. He laid it flat on the desk.
Jonathan raised his eyebrows. “Credence, Marv, there are over 60 hospitals in the city. It’s going to take a lot of effort if we intend to search through every hospital in such a short amount of time. This won’t be easy.”
Before Credence could respond, Marvin shot him a sharp look. “What are you saying? You don’t think Credence and I can do it?”
Jonathan stopped with his cheeky smiles. Instead, he walked over to Benjamin. He was studying the huge map.
Credence’s eyes were fixed on the map on the desk. Soon, he devised a solution to their situation. His eyes had a steely focus to them.
He rapped the table with his knuckles. “Marvin, gather everyone available as quickly as possible and order them to search every hospital from all four corners of the city. It doesn’t matter who finds Melanie first, we mustn’t alert the enemy. They must notify us as soon as they spot her. We’ll act once we’ve arrived on the scene.”
Credence’s plan was sound, perfect even. All three men nodded in agreement.
This was an important mission. Everyone had to carefully search different areas. Before leaving, Marvin looked at Credence, while lighting a cigarette. “Credence, I think you have one other thing to settle before we find Melanie.”
“What is it?” Credence asked calmly.
“You should spend some time to appease your woman! Send her some flowers or jewelry. Juelz is so much better than you at this. Yes, nothing’s going on between Dorothy and him now, but who knows? If you don’t spend time with her from time to time, your relationship will slowly fade away. You can’t expect her to love you unconditionally forever right?”
After saying that, Marvin had a look of realization on his face, as though he had learned something from his own words.
Credence had a keen mind, and he understood what Marvin meant. He asked, “Did you lose her? Did that military doctor girl of yours have an affair and run off with another man?”
“That’s not it.”
Marvin pressed a hand on his solemn, he sighed deeply. “Anyway, it’s a long story. I’ll tell you about it in detail once this matter with Melanie is over.”
“Okay.”
Credence nodded, as he took out a jet-black pistol from the safe. He loaded the gun with bullets. His actions and movements were swift and natural.
After that, he harnessed the pistol on his waist, put on a black jacket, and walked out of the office. As he walked past the assistant’s office, he stopped and waved his hand. He called a female secretary and asked her to buy a bunch of flowers to send to Dorothy at the hospital.
Marvin observed from behind, he saw Credence instructing his subordinate, and smiled.
Credence seemed to have listened to everything he said. Not bad, not bad at all!
The female secretary was very efficient. 20 minutes after Credence left, a bunch of delicate and beautiful lilies was sent to Dorothy.
Dorothy received her bouquet from a young man from the flower shop. She looked confused and asked, “Can you tell me who ordered this for me?”
“I’m not sure.” The young man smiled apologetically. “A woman called me, she had a sweet voice.”
A sweet voice?
Then, it couldn’t be from Germaine.
Seeing that she couldn’t get an answer out of him, Dorothy smiled politely. “Thank you.”
After the young man left, Germaine returned with her right hand newly bandaged. She saw Dorothy holding the fragrant lilies, standing in a daze. She walked over and smiled. “What beautiful flowers Dory. Who sent them to you? Wait, don’t tell me. Let me guess. It must be from Juelz, right?”
“I didn’t expect him, who knows nothing about romance, to do this. Dory, does this mean he intends to pursue you?”
“Did Juelz send me this?”
Dorothy considered it and shook her head slowly. “He just called me from the company and asked what I wanted for dinner. He didn’t mention anything about flowers.”
“If it isn’t Juelz, then who else could it be? Do you have any other pursuers?”
Germaine teased her for a while. Suddenly, she saw a small corner of a card. The card was folded into a beautiful shape and inserted into the petals of the lilies.
The color of the card was very similar to the flower and blended so well, they didn’t notice it earlier.
Germaine stretched out her hand and quickly took out the card from the petals. She unfolded it and immediately had the urge to toss the card and flowers into the trash when she recognized the signature.
She immediately pinched her nose with one hand as if she caught a whiff of a rotting corpse. She stared at the lilies that she thought were beautiful just a moment ago. Knowing that Credence was the one who gave her the flowers, she hated them.
“D*mn it! F*ck, d*mn it! Dory, Credence was the one who gave you these flowers. No wonder they look so ugly and smell so bad.”
Dorothy was flustered. She took the card from Germaine’s hand and glanced at it. Credence’s name was indeed written there, and there was a message that was just as overbearing as he was.
[Baby, you are my wife. You will always be my wife! After I’m done with Melanie, I’ll explain everything to you.]
They had gone too far. What else was there to explain?
From the very beginning, he had always been like this. He would slap her around, then take her on a sweet date to make up for it. Did he think he could just treat her like a three-year-old?
Dorothy snorted at the card and threw it into the ashtray without hesitation. She turned around and told Germaine firmly, “I don’t like these flowers. Take care of it for me. Just give it to someone or throw it away, it doesn’t matter.”
Germaine’s eyes lit up, she had read that message, and she sighed.
“Dory, if I had known that Credence didn’t have any feelings for you, then those overbearingly flirty words of his wouldn’t be so deplorable! Dory, we are sisters forever. I’ll kill anyone that has any impure thoughts about you! F*ck, why can’t I meet a crazy and domineering president like him?”
Before Dorothy could react, Germaine asked again, “But, to be honest, are you really going to cut all ties with Credence?”
