Dorothy took a closer look and realized that it was Germaine who was walking towards her. She was wearing a fiery red dress and in good spirits. It looked like she had finally walked out of the psychological horrors of Jeremy’s tortures.
“Dory, I’m here to see you, Belle and your unborn child.” Germaine showed Dorothy her phone and said cheerily, “Lenolie City’s in its peak travel season, and my classmate can’t handle things on her own anymore. She’s been urging me to get back there everyday, so I’ve already booked a flight for ten o’ clock tonight. I can only stay here with you until six before I leave for the airport.”
Dorothy knew very well that Germaine would leave Talco City again sooner or later to heal her wounds, but it came so suddenly that she sucked in a breath.
Dorothy put away the comic book in her hand and looked at Germaine, somewhat shocked. “You’re leaving so soon? Don’t you want to spend more time with me and Belle here?”
Germaine wrapped her arms around Dorothy in a huge bear hug. “Dory, of course, I want to stay here with you and my darling Belle, but as a responsible boss, I have to be accountable towards my customers. I have to give them an orgasmic experience.”
Seeing Germaine slowly restoring to her former self, Dorothy felt a little relieved. She held Germaine’s wrist and found out that it was a lot slimmer. In the end, she could not help but ask, “Germaine, how are you doing in Lenolie City? Did Jeremy contact you again?”
Germaine’s body stiffened, and she instinctively released Dorothy. She was in high spirits a moment ago, but sadness and sorrow slowly seeped out of her face, “Dory, I don’t want to talk about him anymore.”
All at once, Dorothy understood that the deep scar in the deepest parts of Germaine’s heart had not completely healed yet.
“Alright, I won’t mention him, I won’t talk about him anymore.”
Dorothy got up, poured a cup of warm water and handed it over, but Germaine stood there for a long time. She did not move at all. After a long while, she came to her senses, picked up the cup and downed it in one go.
Perhaps the warm water had warmed her up as well. Germaine’s expression returned to normal, and she smiled at Dorothy. “Dory, did I scare you just now? I don’t know why, but every time I hear Jeremy’s name, I just can’t stop my heart from racing and becoming short of breath. I think it’s an aftereffect of the whipping.”
“I know you will be very busy in Lenolie City, but you should still find some time to do a body checkup. No matter what, your health is your most important asset.”
“Alright, alright, I’ll listen to you, Dory. The first thing I’m going to do when I reach Lenolie City is to go for a physical examination, alright?”
“You can’t shrug this off, I’m being serious.” Dorothy looked at Germaine’s body, which was extremely thin, and she secretly sighed.
A short while later, Belle woke up from her nap. She had yet to open her eyes when Germaine already shot over to her and picked her up, giving her a loud kiss on the cheek. “Oh, my darling Belle, I missed you so much! Tell me whether you missed me?”
Belle was still dazed and it took her a long while to recognise Germaine. She widened her eyes in surprise. “Are you really Mummy Germaine? Why have you lost so much weight?”
Germaine’s face fell immediately. “Belle, are you saying that I’m ugly?”
“Of course not, Mummy Germaine! Even if you were, my love for you wouldn’t change a bit!”
Er…
Germaine was rendered speechless.
She helplessly pinched Belle’s nose and snorted, “Darling, it’s been so long since we last saw each other, and you already have the guts to make fun of me! Tell me, has your Mommy or Daddy taught you to be like this?”
“They didn’t teach me these, I learned it from comic books.”
As she spoke, Belle pouted in distress. “Mummy Germaine, my Daddy seems to have another woman out there. He made Mommy really, really angry.”
“Mommy was angry, so she came to this hospital with Daddy Juelz. Daddy was angry that Mommy came here, so none of them had the time to teach me because they were too busy being angry.”
Dorothy stood to one side and listened to Belle childishly describing her and Credence’s fight. Her gentle smile stiffened.
What a mischievous little girl she was. Who had she inherited it from?
Germaine almost laughed out loud. When she saw how Dorothy’s face had fallen a little, she quickly changed the topic. “Darling, are you hungry? Let me bring the two of you out for a treat.”
Belle cheered. “Mummy Germaine, you’re the best! The coolest, prettiest, best! I love you the most!”
Dorothy was taken aback, and she asked, “Germaine, where are you going to bring us?”
“Just a nearby restaurant. I’ve booked a private room there, and none of us have eaten. Come on, let’s go.”

About 20 minutes later, Dorothy and Germaine walked into a restaurant called Aroma Restaurant. They held Belle’s hand and entered the restaurant.
Germaine had preordered the dishes. Once they arrived, the waiters and waitresses served their dishes and said with a smile, “Enjoy your meal.” After that, they left the room.
Dorothy had just recovered, and she didn’t have much of an appetite. However, the dishes that Germaine had ordered were light but flavourful, which suited her.
Without even realising it, she stuffed herself. When she saw that Belle’s stomach was rounded as well, she couldn’t help smiling. “Germaine, thanks for this. Belle and I are very happy.”
“If you two are happy, then I am happy.”
Germaine took a bite of a burger and was about to speak when her phone rang.
“Dory, Belle, you two eat first. I have a call to answer.”
Germaine took out her phone and saw that it was an unfamiliar number. She thought that it was a customer who wanted to book a room, so she quickly answered the call. “Hello? Yes, that’s me!”
However, in less than two seconds, Germaine’s expression changed. “F*ck, why is it you? You b*stard, I don’t have time to listen to your explanation, so just… what? What did you say?”
“Who did you see? Credence? Credence is intimately embracing someone?”
