Chapter 337 Are You Telling Me That You Love Me?

The person whose heels were clacking against the floor was Dorothy.
When she’d decided to stay by Juelz’s side, she hadn’t expected the operation to go on from ten thirty in the morning to six in the evening. It was more than seven hours.
During that period, Belle had even fallen asleep in her arms after having her lunch.
Juelz was unconscious after his operation, and he’d been wrapped up like a cocoon again. The medical personnel carefully transferred him from the stretcher to the bed.
The effects of the anesthetic only wore off an hour later. Juelz slowly opened his eyes, and when he saw Dorothy by his bedside, his eyes lit up. “Dory, I’m glad that I got to see you right after waking up.”
The joy in his eyes was strong and intense, and Dorothy felt uncomfortable as well as guilty.
She stiffened for a while before returning to normal. A sincere smile appeared on her face, and she said, “Juelz, I’m glad that you’re safe as well! I was very worried about you, and I’m glad everything turned out fine.”
Upon hearing this, Juelz’s hands trembled under the blanket. His joyful smile turned into a bitter one.
Sure enough, she only stayed back because Credence had beaten him up.
In truth, he should’ve expected it. She was a stubborn woman, and she wouldn’t turn back once she’d fallen for one man.
Moreover, Credence was returning her feelings now, and he treated her with love and care. He was no longer the scumbag from six years ago.
Although he’d already prepared himself to accept the fact that she didn’t love him. Juelz’s heart still ached.
He quickly concealed the pain in his eyes and smiled at Dorothy gently. “Dory, all my wounds only look bad on the surface, but they’re not too serious. You should go and check up on Credence, after all, his head injury is much worse than mine.”
“Alright then! Juelz, I’ll be heading off first, call me if you need anything. Oh right, I lost my old phone, and Credence got me a new one and a new number. I’ll text you my new number later.”
After that, Dorothy quickly picked Belle up and hurried away.
It had been a long time, and she was really worried about Credence.
However, what she did not know was that after she left the ward, the blood that Juelz had been holding back in his throat spurted out. It splattered on the wall, and the smell of blood filled the room.
Sontha had just walked in with a few reports. When he saw the blood on the walls, he hurried over and held a trembling Juelz down. He said in a panic, “Mr. Sherman, are you okay? Weren’t you fine just now?”
He’d just gone to the first floor to collect a few reports, and it hadn’t taken more than a few minutes. Why did Mr. Sherman look like he was suddenly much worse than before?
Sontha remembered passing by Dorothy and Belle on his way up here. Had Dorothy said something to agitate Mr. Sherman again?!
Juelz coughed. “I, I’m fine.”
He coughed violently, his face ashen. His eyes were listless, and there was no light in them.
His coughing pulled at his wounds, and he almost passed out from the pain. Juelz bit his tongue, and roared at Sontha, “Transfer me to another hospital, right now!”
“Mr. Sherman, don’t be angry. I will do that right away.”
Sontha’s hands trembled at Juelz’s roar. He turned and ran out immediately.
Among all of Juelz’s assistants, Sontha was the best at what he did. It had been less than 15 minutes when he’d already gotten everything sorted out. He helped Juelz into a wheelchair and carefully got him into the car, then sped away from this remote building.
Dorothy knew nothing about this. She ran into Marvin and Jonathan in a brightly lit corridor.
When Jonathan saw her finally coming over from Juelz’s side, he couldn’t control his urge to get justice for Credence and mocked, “Dorothy, you’re only showing up now? Credence almost died on the operating table, you know?”
He huffed. This was how he was, and he couldn’t bear seeing Credence just accepting his fate like that.
A woman who could not tell scumbags and good men apart was not a good woman at all.
For instance, that Minnie had a pair of big, beautiful eyes, but she was blind to that scumbag’s playboy ways.
She was such a stubborn woman, too. She deserved to be cheated on by that jerk!
Wait a minute, what was all this nonsense? Why was he relating everything to Minnie?
There was a moment where Jonathan wanted to hit his head on the wall.
Dorothy asked, “What did you say?”
She didn’t know that Jonathan was just venting his frustrations. Her eyes widened at his words, and her heart pounded. She anxiously asked, “Mr. Stanton, how’s Credence doing? Please tell me!”
“Well, he won’t die, but he’s not doing too well. He’s half-dead, at best.”
“Stop bullsh*tting around!” Marvin smacked Jonathan on the shoulder, then turned to Dorothy and said seriously, “The operation was a success. Credence is out of danger for now, and he’s awake. He’s waiting for you in the ward.”
“Thank you.”
After Dorothy nodded at him in thanks, she rushed into the ward with Belle held tightly in her arms.
She pushed the door open and walked in. Her heart raced, terrified that it was true that Credence had almost died, as Jonathan said.
Her heart throbbed with pain. She placed Belle on her bed, then walked into the other room, her footsteps heavy.
This hospital’s wards paid great attention to their patients’ privacy, and each VIP ward had two rooms as well as a lounge for family to rest in, a kitchen, and an attached washroom.
The door creaked when Dorothy pushed it open.
She walked in quietly, and slowly headed towards the bed. Credence lay there, looking at her unblinkingly.
Credence watched her slowly approach him one step at a time, and he felt his broken heart slowly being fixed.
His fringe moved as he nodded and smiled at her. “You’re back? How’s Juelz?”
“He’s fine for the time being. The doctor needs to inspect him for two days first. If there is no sequelae from his internal organs, then he should be fine.”
Dorothy answered simply, then lowered her eyes to look at him. “Credence, how are you?”
“I was not all right. But after seeing you, I am fine now.”
Perhaps it was because he thought her question was too formal. He couldn’t help laughing.
“What are you laughing at? What’s so funny?” Seeing the smile on his face, Dorothy felt like there was something caught in her throat. Her face fell, and she reprimanded, “Credence, how could you beat Juelz up so harshly? How can you still laugh?”
“I beat him up because he deserved it!”
Credence’s smile faded, and he suppressed the pain coming from all over his body. He said coldly, “He knew that you’re my beloved wife, but he still had the guts to force a kiss on you. Of course, he deserved a beating!”
Dorothy took a deep breath, and her eyes were red from the tears in her eyes. She stared at Credence unhappily and said, “Yes, Juelz forcefully kissed me, but you shouldn’t have beat him up so badly!”
“Credence, do you know that if it weren’t for Juelz, I wouldn’t have made it through the four years of our marriage and the six years after we got divorced? Belle wouldn’t even be alive right now… I’ll never be able to repay what I owe him, and he wasn’t going overboard by asking for a kiss, was he?”
Credence’s face darkened, the veins at his temple bulging. “He could have kissed you anywhere. Did it have to be on the lips?”
“What’s wrong with kissing me on the lips? Haven’t you kissed Rosalie’s lips before? Why can’t Juelz kiss me if you’ve kissed another woman?”
Dorothy was mad at him for going too harsh on him, and she did not hold back at scolding him. She let herself be free of all her constraints and used hurtful words to hurt him.
As expected, pain stabbed at the deepest parts of Credence’s heart.
However, he still controlled his facial expressions. He narrowed his eyes and said calmly, “Babe, I know how well Juelz treated you, and I know you’ve always felt grateful to him. However, it doesn’t mean that I can accept him forcefully kissing my woman, you know why?”
“It is because I love you!”
“I love you. I love you so much that my heart hurts. I want to be the only man who can hold you and possess you! Any man that wants to take you away from me has deserved to die!”
“Dorothy, you’re my woman, from head to toe. I don’t mind you being grateful to Juelz, but I can thank him on your behalf.”
“If it comes down to it, I don’t mind transferring some of my Scott Group shares to him, but I won’t even give him an inch of anything that’s related to you!”
“I won’t allow him to touch even one strand of your hair, let alone your lips!”
This was probably Credence’s first time saying something so sincere to Dorothy.
She stared at him dazedly.
She felt as if a Credence-shaped tree was growing in her heart, its roots, branches, and vines curling around her heart.
Gradually, tears started to flow from her bright eyes.
She cried and smiled at the same time. “Credence, are you officially telling me that you love me?”
