Credence’s face darkened. Why was Juelz calling him at this hour? It was close to two in the morning.
After a while, he answered the call and narrowed his eyes. “It’s me. What do you want?”
On the other end of the line, Juelz shouted hoarsely, “Credence, I’m at a house at Eastlake Road. Belle was taken here. Get here quick, I can’t hold on much longer!”
After that, Juelz let out a roar and cursed loudly. A little girl’s cries were mixed in with his shouts, and a man’s sinister laugh, followed by the sound of a blade plunging into flesh rang in Credence’s ears.
If he was not wrong, that should be the sound of Juelz’s body being cut by the kidnappers.
Credence immediately turned to leave. He didn’t waste time with Rosalie.
When he left the bathroom, he immediately called Jonathan, “Rosalie is in the toilet of the first floor of the hospital. Her arms and ribs are broken. Take her to the police station immediately and hand her over to Yadriel. He’ll know what to do.”
“Alright! I’ll get it done immediately!”
Jonathan answered without hesitation.
Rosalie lay on the floor, paralysed. Her heart twisted when she saw how Credence had just left her behind to attend to Belle’s matters. He’d even asked someone to send her to jail without a shred of pity.
The man she had fallen in love with ever since she was eighteen was actually so cruel to her.
Even so, she found it impossible to love anyone apart from him.
She thought to herself, “Credence, as long as I make it through this, we’ll have a fight to the death!”
Rosalie gritted her teeth and looked away stiffly. A miserable tear rolled from her eye and into her hair.
Now that she was basically crippled, she didn’t even have the strength to call someone for help. She could only lie on the ground and wait for Jonathan to send her to prison.
…
At three o’clock in the middle of the night, several black cars were speeding towards a rundown yard that was set for demolition. After the cars stopped, their lights were turned off as well. About a dozen men got out of the car secretly while the dark of the night kept them hidden.
Credence walked into the dark alley as he waved his hands. The police in plainclothes immediately got the signal and went their separate paths. All of them searched for traces of Belle and Juelz in the worn-out house silently.
Credence had a solemn expression on. He stared at the house, feeling like it felt familiar to him. However, he couldn’t remember when he’d been here.
After a while, a policeman ran over to him and reported in a low voice, “Mr. Scott, we heard strange sounds in the easternmost room on the second floor. We suspect that Miss Belle is being trapped in there.”
Credence’s pupils contracted when he heard that. “Good! I’d like to see just exactly who Rosalie’s backer is.”
Credence’s voice was cold and sharp as a blade.
When everyone gathered together, they headed towards their target.
At the same time, the lights in the dark house were suddenly switched on.
Juelz had finally found an opportunity to inform Credence of their location when his phone was snatched away in the next second. They rushed up to him and attacked him, even swinging their blades at him.
These people were attacking him viciously. Each and every one of their moves were deadly.
Juelz couldn’t adapt to the lights that were suddenly switched on, and he didn’t manage to dodge the attack in time. The blade landed on his back, and his blood gushed out.
He suppressed the pain and rolled around on the floor to avoid their attacks. He’d originally been holding Belle in his arms, but she was pulled away by a few men who looked like they were from Eastland.
Belle was hungry and tired, as she cried out in pain, “Daddy Juelz, please save me.”
Juelz broke out in a cold sweat. He got to is feet and pounced towards the men. “Whose dogs are you f*ckers?”
D*mn, these guys were completely different from the thugs in Horsburg. Had Jeremy sent them here?
Unexpectedly, his opponents were not normal hooligans. They were all professional killers. They were cruel and monstrous, and all of them seemed to have killed a lot of people.
It did not take long for Juelz to be kicked away. He spat blood out from his mouth and fell on the wooden floor in an awkward way. He could not even get up.
“F*ck you, who are you calling a dog?”
There was a tall and fierce man wearing a leather jacket among these men. His hair was combed to the back, and it looked slick. He spoke Horsburg’s language with a foreign accent as he glared at Juelz fiercely.
The man raised his hand and lifted Belle upside down. Belle was dangling in midair as she was being flung by him. He was enjoying it.
Belle was shocked and let out a heart-wrenching scream. “Daddy Juelz, I’m scared, please save me… Mommy, Daddy, where are you? Have you two abandoned me?”
“Belle, don’t be afraid. I’m here!”
Juelz’s heart felt like a knife was twisting in his heart. He lay on the floor, unable to even move a finger as he took a few kicks in the abdomen. He felt like his organs were out of place, and he couldn’t get up due to the pain.
The man’s ears hurt from Belle’s screams, and he flung her to one side. With narrowed eyes, he moved towards Juelz, and stepped on Juelz’s face abruptly. He pressed down Juelz’s face and said, “You know, you share the same surname as my boss, but you’re a piece of trash compared to him. One’s a hero, and one’s a zero!”
“F*ck you! You are the real trash! All of you are trash! I will f*cking let all of you see what I am made of!”
Juelz was so infuriated that an unknown strength surged in him. He jumped up from the ground and pounced on the man. He used his arms and legs to bind the man, and even chomped down on the man’s ear. As a result, he ripped the man’s ear off.
Blood splattered out and sprayed onto Juelz’s head and lips. It made him look like a horrible blood-sucking demon.
The man’s face twisted in pain, and he broke free of Juelz’s grip with two other guys’ help. He trembled in pain.
The next moment, he reached behind him with his right hand and took a gun out. He pointed the gun right at Juelz’s chest and opened fire. “Juelz Sherman, go to hell!”
Juelz narrowed his eyes and used the last of his strength to roll and move to escape the first shot, but he could not avoid the latter two shots.
One bullet shot him in the right leg, and the other went right through his shoulder blade. Blood flowed, and all he could see was red.
Belle watched helplessly. Her blue eyes widened. She cried out, “Daddy Juelz, don’t die! Daddy Juelz!”
Juelz uttered while coughing out blood, “Belle, I, I’m fine.”
Blood flowed from the corner of Juelz’s mouth. He clenched his fists tightly to avoid letting out pained wails.
D*mn, it felt like his entire body was taken apart and put back together. It hurt too much.
“F*ck you, you are a nobody. You don’t even deserve to fight us!”
The man aimed his gun at Juelz’s heart and slowly pulled the trigger. He intended to use the remaining bullets to send Juelz to hell.
Everyone else laughed smugly. Their laughter rang out loudly in the building.
Hence, none of them could react in time when the door was kicked open from the outside.
