Apart from Rosalie’s screeching, Dorothy could hear Germaine’s pained moans. Her ears pounded.
When she saw Germaine being strangled by Rosalie, her face ashen, Dorothy’s heart twisted in pain.
“Rosalie, stop! Let Germaine go and take me hostage!”
Everything bad that had happened to Germaine was because of her. She’d caused Germaine to get hurt both physically and psychologically, and Dorothy didn’t want to watch her die just like that.
Germaine’s body trembled with pain, and her white lips parted slightly. “Dory, go… go! Don’t worry about me!”
Each time she trembled, Dorothy’s heart jolted.
For the first time in her life, she felt that she had owed Germaine too much.
Dorothy clenched her fists and stared at Germaine. Suddenly, she yelled out, “No, I won’t! Germaine, what do you mean by that? None of this would have happened to you if it weren’t for me! I don’t want you to suffer on my behalf!”
Germaine was taken aback by Dorothy’s outbreak. She was in a daze as she parted her lips, yet she did not make a single sound.
On the other hand, Rosalie sneered. “So you do know how much pain and suffering you’ve caused your friend, Dorothy? She’s unfortunate to be your friend!”
“Alright then, I’ll give you a chance to prove just how much you two love each other.”
“Dorothy, do you see the dagger in my hand?”
At that, Rosalie paused. She kept one hand on Germaine’s neck, and threw the dagger at Dorothy’s feet with the other. She sneered, “Dorothy, pick it up and stab yourself in the chest twice. Remember to put some strength in it. Then, I’ll take you as my hostage and let Germaine go.”
Stab herself twice in the chest? Would she still be able to live?
It was clear that Rosalie wanted to take Dorothy’s life.
Germaine couldn’t stand it anymore. She tried to lift her hands with difficulty to scratch at Rosalie’s face.
However, Rosalie had already prepared herself for that. She used her free hand to grip Germaine’s arm tightly, then slapped her.
With a loud slap, Germaine’s head was thrown to one side, and blood started to flow out of her mouth.
However, in order to not let Dorothy worry about her, she gritted her teeth and endured the pain. She did not make any sound at all.
Rosalie’s eyes were cold. She slapped Germaine again, then said to Dorothy, “Are you seeing this, Dorothy? If you don’t stab yourself, I’ll slap Germaine until you do.”
When Dorothy saw Germaine’s swollen face as well as the blood coming from her mouth, she couldn’t take it anymore. She yelled out hoarsely, “Stop! Don’t do anything to Germaine anymore. I’ll do what you want.”
Under Rosalie’s glare, Dorothy bent down and slowly reached out to pick the dagger up. She stood up straight and aimed the dagger at her chest.
Rosalie was extremely excited. A delighted smile formed on her exquisitely made-up face. “Dorothy, do it. I can’t wait to see you stab yourself!”
This f*cking b*tch would at least end up half dead if she stabbed herself twice.
“No, don’t!” Germaine let out a pained screech. “Dory, you’re pregnant! What if you hurt your baby? What’s going to happen to Belle?”
At the thought of Belle’s illness, Dorothy hesitated. She held the dagger up in mid-air.
Rosalie was enraged when she failed to see Dorothy maiming herself. She slapped Germaine again and smiled sinisterly. “If you say one more word, I’ll kill you right now. Then you won’t be able to say anything else.”
The force of her slap was so great that Germaine fell to the floor, her head cracking against the side of the counter. No matter how good she was at holding back her pain, she couldn’t help crying out, “It hurts! My head…”
Sharp and intense pain washed over Germaine and she passed out.
Rosalie was taken aback. She kicked Germaine’s abdomen in a panic, “Get up! Stop playing dead.”
Terror started to rise in her.
If Germaine was dead, how’d she make it out of the hospital without a hostage?
In that instant, looking at Germaine who was lying on the cold floor motionlessly, blood flowing out of her mouth, Dorothy’s heart raced. Her eyes turned bloodshot, and she let out a pained, sorrow-filled wail.
“Rosalie, you killed Germaine. You killed my best friend! I’m going to kill you to get revenge for her!”
Sharp pain accompanied Dorothy’s yell. She gripped the dagger in her hand and threw herself at Rosalie. “Rosalie, go to hell!”
Rosalie tried to dodge her and cried out, “Dorothy, have you lost your mind? I didn’t kill her! She was the one who wanted to die!”
“If you hadn’t taken Germaine hostage, would she have ended up like this? Would she have died? Rosalie, only one of us can make it out of here alive.”
Dorothy’s widened eyes were bloodshot, and she chased after Rosalie crazily. She was determined to take her life as payback.
Credence heard this from outside and sprinted into the washroom. He was greeted by the scene of his gentle, beloved Dorothy swinging a dagger at Rosalie manically, like a trapped beast.
All her resentment and anger burst out at this very moment.
“Rosalie, I will kill you!”
“I will kill you and avenge Germaine.”
As someone who was usually gentle and didn’t normally get mad, Dorothy unleashed her full rage and power now that she was infuriated.
To Rosalie, this crazed and enraged Dorothy, who was holding a weapon, was even more terrifying than Credence.
She rushed up to Credence and hid behind him, shouting subconsciously, “Credence, save me!”
Unexpectedly, she was greeted by Credence’s kick. She flew into one of the cubicles, her ribs broken by his force.
Now that her target was missing, Dorothy spun around dizzily. “Rosalie, go to tell! I’m going to kill you. I have to kill you today.”
Her bloodshot eyes had already lost their focus. She couldn’t see anything, and nothing registered in her mind. She only knew that she had to kill Rosalie to avenge Germaine.
Seeing that Dorothy was completely out of control, Credence’s heart skipped a beat. He forcibly took the dagger from her and held her in his arms tightly. He said gently, “Baby, I’m sorry that I’m late! Rosalie’s dead meat, I’ll make sure of it!”
Dorothy was still immersed in the pain of watching Rosalie strangle Germaine to death, and her hatred made her think that Credence was Rosalie. She clenched her fists and pounded him on the chest. Tears formed in her eyes, and she choked out, “Die! I’ll kill you! Rosalie, I’m going to kill you!”
“I’ll kill you! I’m going to kill you! Rosalie, you are finished!”
Credence’s heart burned with worry. He grabbed her cold hands, his heart feeling like it was bleeding dry.
“Dorothy, it’s me! Open your eyes and look at me properly. It’s me, Credence!”
