Chapter 296 Depressed

“How long will the operation take?”
Marvin stood guard at the emergency room and aggressively questioned the doctor who’d just come out.
Just a few hours ago, he’d arrived at the beach where Credence and Dorothy were at. He hadn’t expected that Juelz would’ve gotten there before him.
At that time, if it weren’t for the fact that Credence was in critical condition and Dorothy was unconscious, he would’ve beaten Juelz up with his iron fists so that he’d understand the consequences of his actions.
A secretive agreement had resulted in Credence hanging by a thread. This was the most gravely injured Credence had been in the past thirty years of his life. His organs were pierced, his back muscles were torn, and his shoulder was dislocated. By the time they got him to the hospital, his breathing was already so weak that it was almost indiscernible.
When Marvin saw Credence lying on the rocks, seemingly dead, he was so tempted to just shoot Juelz.
What a f*cking idiot he was to make a deal with someone as sly and insidious as Jeremy!
Luckily, he had arrived just in time.
Before the doctor could answer him, Jonathan rushed out of the escalator, his face filled with panic and interrupted, “F*ck, Marv! It’s been five or six hours, but Credence’s operation isn’t over?”
Jonathan had stayed by Belle’s side till she was safe and made sure that Germaine would be around to take care of her for the time being. He then rushed over here to see how Credence was doing.
To his surprise, Credence was still in the operating room when he rushed there. Nobody was sure what his exact condition was like.
“Why are you asking me? Who should I ask?”
Marvin kicked at the interfering Jonathan and turned back to the doctor. “I asked you a question. How’s he doing?”
“The situation’s not great, to say the least.” Faced with two menacing men, one of them being the dean of the hospital, the doctor broke out in a cold sweat. He didn’t dare hide the truth and said, “He’s broken three ribs, and one of them almost pierced his spleen and stomach. He has a lot of internal bleeding, and most of his organs are all suffering from varying degrees of damage.”
“To put it bluntly, the patient is only alive because of his extraordinarily strong constitution. A normal person would’ve died a long time ago.”
The doctor tried to put it as tactfully as he could.
In other words, if it wasn’t for the fact that Credence’s body was strong and solid enough, he would have long been dead.
Jonathan hated listening to people speak in such a roundabout way. He frowned and said, “Just cut to the chase and tell us whether he’ll die.”
“I don’t think he will.”
The doctor wiped the sweat on his forehead and continued, “However, it’s not likely for him to wake up in the short term. It really depends on his willpower.”
At that, Jonathan slowly heaved a sigh of relief. He waved a hand at the doctor, putting on the airs of a hospital dean. “Alright, you can go.”
With Credence’s willpower, he’d be able to wake up soon as long as he was alive.
After all, no man would be able to accept another man chasing after their woman, what more the way Juelz was waiting to pounce on Dorothy.
Especially since Credence was such a jealous man!
Now that he was relaxed, Jonathan was in the mood to tease Marvin. He handed him a cigarette and asked cheekily, “Marv, where’s she?”
“Juelz took her away.”
“What the f*ck? You allowed him to take Dorothy away? What’s going through you mind, Marv?”
“I didn’t have time to bother about her when I saw blood gushing out of Credence’s mouth. I only noticed that Juelz had long since whisked her away when I was done arranging for Credence to be taken to the hospital.”
Marvin took the cigarette from Jonathan and lit it before taking a few deep breaths.
In hindsight, he truly hadn’t thought things through. He should’ve brought Dorothy here to be attended to together with Credence.
When Credence woke up and didn’t see Dorothy, he would probably blame him for not doing his job well.
Sure enough, Jonathan was the first to jump out and lecture him. “Marv, I’m not trying to blame you or anything, but do you know what the f*ck you’ve done?”
“You know that Dorothy is the woman that Credence cares the most about, yet you still allowed Juelz to take her away. Don’t you know that he’s been trying to get in her pants for the longest time?”
“She’s unconscious now, and there’s no way for her to fight back against him. Juelz can do anything he wants with her!”
Marvin glanced at Jonathan disdainfully and sneered. “Do you think everybody’s as into necrophilia as you are?”
“What the f*ck, Marv, you are slandering me. Since when have I had such a hobby?”
Jonathan was dissatisfied at Marvin’s words. He pounced on Marvin and pounded on his chest. “You b*stard, I’ll beat you to death!”
Coincidentally, at this moment, Minnie brought blood bags that were required for Credence’s blood transfusion. She’d just stepped out of the elevator when she saw Jonathan almost hanging from a tall, handsome man’s body. He seemed to be acting coyly while pounding the man on the chest.
No matter how she looked at it, it gave her goosebumps.
Who would’ve expected that the dean of the hospital was actually gay?
Judging from how his boyfriend looked all strong and manly, the dean was probably the bottom?!
The bottom!
Minnie shuddered.
She was covered in goosebumps, and her disdain for this useless dean grew. She pretended to bang into Jonathan with her tray, then apologised insincerely as she walked away. “Sorry, Mr. Stanton. I didn’t see you there in my hurry.”
Minnie had purposely ran into Jonathan with about 70% of her strength. Jonathan let out a cry of pain. When he turned to see who it was, Minnie had already headed into the emergency room. Jonathan only caught sight of the corner of her pink nurse’s uniform.
“Minnie Luther, stop the f*ck right there!” Jonathan roared.
F*ck, did he and this fierce woman have a grudge from a previous life or something? She took every opportunity to bully him!
“You can’t even handle a nurse. What’s wrong with you?”
Marvin couldn’t be bothered with Jonathan’s idiocy. He stood a distance away from Jonathan in an attempt to prevent being infected by his stupidity.
The two of them waited till 10. 30 that night, before the emergency room’s doors opened and Minnie pushed Credence out. He was going to be moved to the private, VIP intensive care unit that had already been prepared for him.
Jonathan and Marvin followed her closely, and their gazes fell on Credence’s face, which was as white as paper. They started feeling depressed again.
Credence’s handsome face, which was normally expressionless, was calm and unmoving, just like his body.
He was no different from a dead person!
