Dorothy turned her head and saw Rosalie staring at her with her delicate face full of simple makeup. Her damp eyes were filled with immense hatred, and her beautiful face looked ferocious.
“Dorothy, why did you come back? Why must you seduce Credence continuously? You’ve ruined my relationship with Credence. You must be feeling very proud and happy, don’t you?”
Rosalie was showing Dorothy the extent of her hatred towards her. Dorothy was flustered for a moment, but then she came back to her senses. She forced herself to calm down. She looked at her and said calmly, “I told you a long time ago. I’m not here for Credence. I have my own reasons for coming back.”
“It must be for your precious daughter, huh?”
“How do you know?” Dorothy’s eyes widened immediately.
Rosalie looked at Dorothy’s frightened look and smiled smugly. “Dorothy, there are a lot of things that I know. Not only do I know that Belle has leukemia, but I also know that Belle is Credence’s biological daughter.”
“I won’t stop you from asking Credence to save your daughter’s life, but if you foil my plans to marry Credence by the end of the year, I will send you to prison once again, just like how I did back then.”
“By that time, the life of your daughter depends on my mood.”
Dorothy did not expect Rosalie to know everything that not even Credence knew of. She even knew how to threaten her with Belle, which was something that she could not even
She sat up with one hand on the bed as she looked at Rosalie with cold eyes.
“Rosalie, if we have hatred for each other, and if you want to have revenge, then come for me. However, if you dare to lay a finger on my daughter, I will tear you to pieces even if it costs me my life.”
“Do you think that I am scared of dying?”
Rosalie laughed in a sinister way, smiling and said, “I love Credence as much as you do, but how did that turn out for me? You were the one who married him, and you even bore his child!”
“I worked so hard for so long. Even after he lost his memories, I still tried my best. However, the only thing he agreed to do was get engaged to me. On the surface, I may look glamorous as Credence’s fiancée, but the truth is…”
As soon as she said that, Rosalie closed her eyes. When she opened them again, a cold, scarlet light glowed within them.
She looked at Dorothy coldly, and her soft shoulders trembled slightly. “Dorothy, do you know how jealous I am of you? I thought that I would have the chance to marry him after your divorce. I thought that since my chance had come, I could finally marry him and bear him a child.”
“However, even though the two of you have been divorced for six years, I still have nothing. I’m not happy at all. I only look so happy on the surface, but internally, I am feeling distressed.”
“When I heard that Credence was bringing you back to this guest room, I rushed over immediately. These thoughts of mine have been suppressed for too long. I don’t know who I can tell them to, apart from you.”
After that, Rosalie took a fierce and deep breath, but the cold smile on her face never left.
“Rosalie, why are you telling me all this? Do you want me to feel sympathetic for you or pity you?”
Dorothy was flustered as she looked at Rosalie. She felt that her sister was living a sad life despite her being a terrible person.
“Since you like Credence so much, since you love him so much, then go and pursue him. I’m not the one stopping you from doing so.”
“I am grateful for your parents’ kindness in raising me. I’ve always given in to your demand, and I have never taken anything from you. I have never even done anything wrong to you, but why, why must you frame me over and over again?”
“You were obviously the one who made Credence’s dad fall from the balcony, but why did you frame me? Why did you let me suffer half a year of imprisonment too?”
The more Dorothy said, the angrier she got. She glared at Rosalie with burning eyes, wishing she could jump out of bed and slap her twice.
Those incidents that had hurt her so much, even though it had been six years, she still felt pain and hatred in her heart.
She had never understood why her younger sister would do something so cruel to her. Why did she have to torture her so badly for Credence’s sake?
She really hoped that Credence would suddenly appear from the door and overhear Rosalie’s words clearly. She wanted Credence to see just how vicious this woman actually was.
Unfortunately, she had no choice but to be let down.
Not a single sound could be heard outside. Not a single soul could be seen, not even the snow-white and lovely cat that Maria used to raise six years ago.
“Dorothy, what do you think?”
Rosalie took out some makeup and a mirror from her bag, slowly smiling as she fixed her makeup, “Compared to me, you really are silly and naïve! I wanted to hurt you and punish you, because I realized that Credence subconsciously grew a good impression of you in your four years of marriage. If you continue to get along with him, he will definitely fall in love with you.”
“But I love him all too much, so how can I let you two be attracted to each other and love each other deeply? If he really falls in love with you, then I would be eliminated from this competition. What should I do then? Give up on all these years of loving him?”
“So, Dorothy, as long as you die or have your body dirtied, no matter how much he likes you, he won’t look at you or be interested in you any longer.”
“If you can’t even help yourself, then the world will give up on you. Isn’t that right?”
Dorothy listened, but she grew silent and never showed any emotions.
Credence liked her?
Huh, what a big joke.
Only a muddle-headed woman like Rosalie, who could not see the truth of the matter clearly, would be pushed to the evil side by her obsession. She had walked step-by-step into a path of no return. She had lost her mind and could not be saved anymore.
“Rosalie, just because you want to stop Credence from liking me, you’ll go so far and humiliate yourself? You really are disgusting. Don’t you ever feel guilty?”
“Would I be able to get Credence if I feel guilty? Will I be able to become his wife by feeling like that? Dorothy, the reason I came to see you today is that I got a bit of information from Credence. He doesn’t intend to let you go, and he wants to imprison you and make you his plaything until he gets bored. If you don’t want to live like a slave, just call me. I can send you away regardless of your past misdeeds.”
Dorothy stared at Rosalie’s remorseless face with hatred and sneered coldly, “This is my house, I’ve lived here for four years. Why should I leave?”
“Then, I guess you’ll just have to wait for Credence to get sick of you and abandon you. Or you’ll watch your daughter’s illness get worse and worse until she dies.”
Rosalie smiled proudly and enchantingly. However, in Dorothy’s eyes, she was a woman whose heart was even more vicious than a snake.
She clenched her fists and stood still in front of Rosalie. “What on earth do you want?”
“I just want you to beg me!”
As soon as Rosalie finished speaking, she picked up her handbag and walked out of the guest room elegantly. The sound of her high heels gradually drifted away.
Dorothy took Rosalie’s words as nothing serious. She forgot about it right after she heard it.
She had no idea who had helped her change her into a white loose, casual outfit. Her pockets were empty, and all of her belongings, including her phone and wallet were missing, so she could not even call Juelz or Germaine.
There were too many things in her mind that her expression darkened. She pulled out the infusion drip on her wrist and got out of bed barefooted. She was shocked to realize that Rosalie had locked the door from outside.
No matter how hard Dorothy tried, it did not budge at all.
Three unfamiliar maids sent her dinner.
One held a tray filled with meat in one hand, and plain vegetables and soup in her other hand. The food looked quite decent.
The other two watched her warily from the side. They stared at Dorothy and observed her every movement, as if they were preventing her from suddenly running out, not letting their guards down at all.
Under such strict surveillance, Dorothy could not do anything apart from eat obediently.
However, in the evening, just as Dorothy was feeling anxious and annoyed, the door was kicked open with a bang, and a man with a chill emanating from his body slowly came in.
Credence, who had entered abruptly, stared at Dorothy coldly. It was as if he wanted nothing more than to kill her. She finally realized that something was wrong and was terrified.
“Stop, no! Don’t come over!”
