“Credence, stop it right now!”
She looked at Credence, who wanted nothing more than to kill Juelz on the spot, and she felt a strong pain in her heart.
She had always known how cruel and merciless this man was, but she was still hoping that he would still care about her in her heart.
However, the only thing she got from him was his cruelty, and she kept receiving it over and over again.
At the moment, she really despised herself.
She knew that Credence had absolutely no feelings for her at all, thus why did she always have such high expectations towards him?
As of the current moment, she could only watch Juelz get beaten to death helplessly, not being able to do anything about it at all.
Dorothy stood in front of Juelz to protect him. She raised her head and glared at Credence angrily, a cold chill running all over her body.
She used to think of him as her world, that she would be satisfied if she had him. However, the only thing that remained of her was despair and hopelessness.
Credence stared at her pale and silent face. He stretched his hand out and tried to pull her hand away, but then froze in midair, unable to move any further no matter how hard he tried.
This woman was a complete stranger to him, but upon hearing her uncontrollable cries, shallow cuts appeared in his heart.
There was a split second of hesitation where he could not bear to kick Juelz with his legs, for he did not want to see her cry.
Credence smacked his thin lips and said in a cold tone, “I will give you two choices, either you leave with me, or he dies.”
“If I go with you, will you really let Juelz go?” Dorothy asked bitterly. She tried her best to hold back the anger and sadness in her voice.
Credence frowned. He looked at Juelz, who was lying unconsciously on the floor, and really could not manage to hold in his anger anymore.
He looked down at her with his face so cold that the iciness seemed to be able to pierce through her, “That depends on my mood. You’ve schemed against me time and time again. Thus, you are not qualified for a bargain.”
Did he think she wanted to scheme against him?
If it weren’t for her precious daughter’s incurable illness, she would rather stay in Monticello and be left alone for the rest of her life instead of coming back to Talco City to face him.
She would never do that, not even if she got beaten up!
Dorothy’s face was ashen. Her frosty gaze shot straight at the man who never failed to break her heart as she slowly laughed and said, “Credence, do you know that if it weren’t for the fact that I had no other choice, I wouldn’t even disturb your life and humiliate myself?”
Since she would get hurt every time she saw him, why would she do that to herself?
The more she cared about and loved him in the past, the more she hated him now.
Credence paid attention to the anger and hatred on her face. He then frowned in astonishment.
She hated him?
Did she think she was worthy of hating him?
“What did I do to make you hate me?” he sneered coldly as he thought that she was being ridiculous.
She had cheated on him during their marriage. He was the one who had proposed divorce and he had even given her an alimony. That was already considered being generous to her.
During the equestrian competition, Juelz had schemed against him and broke two of his ribs, even extracting his blood. All he did was beat Juelz up and f*ck her once. If they had to settle accounts, he was still at a loss.
Dorothy’s face turned even paler, and her heart rolled around like a ball. She did not want to continue talking about the topic.
He had lost his memories and remembered everything, everyone except her. No matter what she said, he would only take it as she had lied to him and think that she was just playing hard to get.
“Credence, let Juelz go first. None of this has anything to do with him. I am the one behind all of this. I was reluctant to have a divorce, I was reluctant to take the tiny amount of alimony you gave me despite the massive fortune you have, not to mention, I hate seeing my sister, Rosalie marrying you!”
“What rights do you have to marry a young and beautiful woman freely after a divorce? Why must I live a life with a limited amount of money? Why should I go to work and work my butt off for such a small amount of salary? What can I do with that small amount of money?”
“I have had enough of this poor life of mine. That’s why I hate you. I asked Juelz to cooperate with me to give you a good beating… I’ve been living a miserable life, and I wanted you to feel the same thing.”
Dorothy vaguely gave an explanation to her actions. However, when her words entered Credence’s ears, he felt that it was not the real reason why she wanted to scheme against him. However, after thinking about it, he thought that there was nothing wrong with her explanation.
“I have one last question. What do you want to do with my blood?”
Dorothy looked at the man who seemed to have believed her words, and she smiled and pulled his cold arm with both hands. She used the rest of her strength to get close to him and sneered, “If I can’t have you, then having your blood is the next best thing.”
“You’re crazy!”
After that, a loud bang could be heard!
The man flung her away without mercy. Dorothy, who had grabbed his arm, was thrown onto the sofa, and a sharp pain came from the back of her head. Then, she felt dizzy and could not help but lay there and puke.
Under the bright lights, Credence’s gaze was as deep as the abyss. Hostility gradually rose in his eyes into a tangible light.
He stared at her expressionlessly and chuckled in anger. His voice was cold and devoid of any emotion as he said, “Very well. Then, I will let you know the consequences of offending me.”
Credence no longer looked at Dorothy anymore. He turned around, walked towards the tall window and called out for Benjamin.
Soon, Benjamin rushed in and saw Juelz, who was lying on the ground with a bloody nose and swollen face, as well as Dorothy, who was lying on the sofa with a pale face and was constantly retching, too. He was a little flustered for a moment.
Looking at the messy and horrifying scene, it seemed like someone had caught the other person cheating.
Credence did not care about what Benjamin was thinking. He clenched the phone in his hands and lifted his heavy eyelids. He sneered, “Send the man to the hospital, so long as he doesn’t die. As for her…”
He stared at Dorothy coldly and lit a cigarette, then took a deep breath as he said, “… knock her out and take her away!”
One side was his immediate superior, and the other was his superior’s ex-wife. What could Benjamin do?
Faced with Dorothy’s sad eyes, Benjamin mouthed, “I’m sorry.” He raised his palm and hit her neck with it.
He used the right amount of strength to knock Dorothy out without hurting her body and brain nerves.
Dorothy didn’t even have the time to snort. Before she lost consciousness, she shouted with all her strength, “Credence, please, let Juelz go!”
Her final words successfully made Credence’s face turn gloomy.
When Dorothy woke up again, she saw the familiar decoration around her.
There was the big bed she liked, the small orange lamp, and the porcelain doll she had gotten from the flea market.
It turned out that after she got knocked out by Benjamin, she had been sent to the guest room where she had stayed in during the four years of her marriage with Credence.
“Huh, after sleeping for a whole day and night, you’re finally awake.”
A young woman’s sneer entered Dorothy’s ear.
