Chapter 175 Conditions

Book:My Husband Hates Me Published:2024-5-1

Juelz had been terribly busy for the past few days.
He had just recently received a lot of huge orders and the company’s stock price had been rising steadily. However, all of a sudden, a lot of orders were unilaterally canceled by the partnering companies, and the company’s stock price fell like an avalanche. He had no idea what had gone wrong.
Within a short span of three or four days, the company’s market value had shrunk by one-third, and over billions of dollars of funds had evaporated into thin air.
Juelz’s face had turned deathly pale overnight. He stood in the office and cursed all of his high-level executives.
“I didn’t spend so much money to hire experts like you to drink tea and flirt with women. I wanted you to create more profits for the company!”
“All of you have been busy for so long, but none of you know who did this? All of you are useless, worse than trash!”
The consequences of not having enough sleep were his eyes turning bloodshot red and him feeling utterly annoyed and mad. He was like a firecracker, exploding nonstop.
Everyone was scared spitless by Julez’s words as they did not expect their boss, who was usually friendly, to be so terrifying when he was enraged.
After Miss Fisher had gone missing for no reason, his temper had gotten so bad that it seemed like he would explode at any moment.
When Dorothy had become the secretary of J&D Group, rumors of her, Juelz, and Credence’s love triangle occasionally spread among those high-level executives as gossip, but not many people took it seriously.
After all, Credence’s disgust for Dorothy could be seen by anyone with working eyes. What’s more, Credence already had a young and beautiful fiancée. No matter how beautiful Dorothy was, she was still a woman with a six-year-old daughter. No normal men would give Rosalie up for Dorothy.
Only their president would be so blind as to treasure a divorced woman with a child.
The high-leveled executives complained wildly in their hearts as they contemplated the cause of the company’s misfortune.
In the dead silent office, a weak voice suddenly sounded, “Mr. Sherman, could this be Credence’s doing?”
Juelz stared at the woman who had just spoken as if he just woke up from a daze. His bloodshot eyes were filled with endless iciness, “Tell me, what’s your reasoning?”
The female staff was a secretary who had been newly appointed by the HR department. Last month, she had been lucky enough to attend the social party that the Jules and Stanton family had held for Marvin and Jonathan.
Because of her quiet personality, she had stayed in a remote corner instead of flocking up with other people. Thus, she knew some inside scoops that no one else did.
When she saw Juelz’s frigid eyes staring straight at her, the female staff could not help but tremble. She whispered in a trembling voice, “Mr. Sherman, I attended a social party in Talco Hotel last month. That night, I saw Miss Fisher and Miss Germaine sitting together and talking in secret as if they were plotting something. The two of them left for the top floor in less than half an hour.”
“Not long after that, there was news that Credence had been taken advantage of by a woman. Not many people know about this. I just so happened to know because the manager of the hotel is my cousin. He told me about it as a joke when he got home, but told me to keep it a secret.”
“Mr. Sherman, it was said that only unmarried men and women could attend that banquet, but why did Miss Fisher, who has given birth to a daughter, also attend it?”
“I was thinking, could it be that Credence had been set up by Miss Fisher into doing the deed with her, but due to her sudden disappearance, Credence opted to take his revenge by sabotaging our company?”
The female staff plucked up all her courage to finish her words in one breath, and the atmosphere immediately turned strange and depressing.
Juelz, in particular, turned extremely furious. His facial expressions continuously shifted as he stared at the female staff’s pale face. He wanted to deny what she had uttered but heartachingly reckoned that her words were completely true.
He had always been unable to get over the worries in his heart, and he couldn’t, no, he wouldn’t let Dorothy sleep with Credence just like that.
Although Dorothy had urged him to find a solution a few times, he had always found a reasonable excuse to delay the inevitable.
She was his most beloved woman. How could he just stand by and watch her enjoy the warmth of another man?
Soon after, Dorothy stopped mentioning anything about Credence. Juelz felt happy and thought that she had given up on sleeping with Credence.
However, he had never expected for Dorothy to turn to Germaine for help, and his stupid cousin had actually helped her with that matter.
He had approved Dorothy’s one-month leave as he thought that she only needed to go to Palm City for a break. Who would’ve thought she had already succeeded in achieving her goal, and she was just trying to avoid Credence’s fury by running away.
As of now, only curses and yelling could express his depressed mood.
Juelz suddenly closed his eyes, and his handsome face was filled with pain, but mostly malice and anger. He screamed, “Get out, all of you!”
After everyone left, Juelz was the only one in the large office. His attractive features were tense as the corners of his eyes were faintly bloodshot.
The pain that came from his heart hurt so much that he dared not even take deep breaths.
All of his efforts and unconditional help for Dorothy had now turned into a huge joke.
He admitted that it was his fault for not helping her plan an intimate visit with Credence, but she had secretly handled everything without telling him. What did she take him for that she had kept her plans so secretive?
Juelz clenched his fists in pain, a bitter sneer appearing on his lips. He picked up the office phone and ordered coldly, “Assemble all our available funds now. I want to fight Credence till the very end.”
He would rather give up the company with pride than admit his defeat to Credence.
That was what a man with an indomitable spirit was supposed to look like. In the face of an aggressive love rival, dignity was of utmost importance!
Inside Scott Group.
Credence sat upright in a big black executive chair behind his desk. His dark eyes were constantly staring at J&D Group’s stock price.
The stock price, which had been pulled down to its lowest point, slowly rose again. A dark look appeared in his eyes, and he quickly gave Benjamin another phone call to annihilate J&D Group even further.
Benjamin had long been prepared for this. When he received Credence’s orders, he carried out the ever so familiar plans.
Soon, J&D Group’s stock price began to drop again. It fell even lower than the lowest point possible, almost reaching the pit. It seemed impossible for them to turn the tables around now.
As the most successful man at the top of the food chain, there were barely any things that could make Credence happy.
However, upon seeing J&D Group’s shares plummeting like a broken cliff, he felt a sense of happiness intoxicating him, as if his joy had been locked in a dam and had suddenly gotten released.
It was as intoxicating as that night when the mysterious woman had taken the initiative to kiss him.
Her lips had been soft and sweet, its taste one that he had been desiring for a long, long time.
Credence had no idea what was wrong with himself either. He had just instinctively reached out and grabbed her soft waist, followed her lips and the delicate scent on her body. It had felt as if he was in a glorious dream.
The sensation felt as if it was once from his memories, making him want more. He was obsessed with her and unwilling to wake up from that dream.
The feeling was one that he had once felt when he had gotten in contact with Juelz’s female secretary.
Since he had tasted the finest, how could he let her get away so easily?
Those who felt the warmth of the sun would never be able to return to their icy cave.
Credence was the kind of person who vowed to achieve his goals. In addition, Juelz was the one who had extracted blood from him. When he thought of those two facts, he could not hold back his rage and wanted nothing more than to just attack Juelz’s company.
He picked up the phone on his desk and dialed Juelz’s number, uttering only one sentence for him to ponder on, “Give me what you care about most, and in exchange, I’ll let you and your company go! Think long and hard.”
Naturally, what Juelz cared about the most was Dorothy.
However, how could he ever agree to Credence’s condition? How could he hand her over to anyone else, especially to Credence of all people?
Therefore, Juelz did not hesitate to refuse his offer. Following his rejection, his company got pulled down ever worse by Credence.
A war without firearms was occurring, and the two of them remained in a stalemate for a while.
