Chapter 139 You’re Out of Your Mind!

Book:My Husband Hates Me Published:2024-5-1

In the past few days, after Dorothy had arranged for Belle to be enrolled in a kindergarten nearby that had plenty of facilities, she was officially appointed as Juelz’s personal secretary.
Germaine provided her with a house due to them being friends. There was no need for her to pay extra rent, but she still needed to earn some money to pay off her and Belle’s expenses.
Dorothy had taken secretarial courses during her university days. Although she had not worked in the field before, under Juelz’s careful guidance, the first week of her career went by smoothly and successfully.
One day, in the president’s office of J&D Group.
After learning that Dorothy had not made any progress in reaching out to Credence, Juelz was half glad, but felt worried too. In short, he was in a very complicated mood.
Fortunately, Credence had forgotten all about Dorothy. As long as Credence continued to lose his memories of her, then he would still have a chance to win Dorothy’s heart and be in a relationship with her.
However, he was concerned once Belle’s illness went on for too long without any improvements, it was very likely that Belle would…
She viewed Belle’s life as one that was more important than hers, and from Dorothy’s personality, if something really happened to Belle, she would only get more and more depressed. She would never be happy ever again.
“Dory, Credence had a car accident and has really lost his memories. He has forgotten about you. It’ll be difficult for you to get close to him and take him to the bone marrow test, so what are you going to do from now on?”
Juelz raised his hand, rapping the table hard. Anxiety was written all over his face.
Belle was lively and cute, and she loved to cling to him, too. Most of the time, he really treated her as his own daughter.
If there was anything he could do to make Dorothy happy, he would carry it out to his heart’s fullest.
Ever since he had fallen in love with her, she had been his softest spot. One sweet smile was enough to undo him!
Dorothy was in the middle of sorting out a large pile of documents on her desk. She smiled bitterly upon hearing his question. She answered, “To be honest, I don’t know either. Juelz, what do you think I should do now?”
He had lost his memories in a car accident. He remembered everything, everything but her, and the numerous vicious acts that Rosalie had committed. What else could she do save except to resign herself to this fate?
During the banquet last week, she had followed Credence from behind and had kept calling out to him. At that time, his indifferent expression had made it feel as if she was an insignificant stranger, that she was just a wishy-washy woman who had wanted to flirt with him. His indifferent expression was mixed with a hint of disgust.
“Dory, don’t you worry. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
Juelz could not bear to see Dorothy’s forced smile for his heart ached. He walked around the desk, circled his arms around her, forming an embrace. He smirked and said, “Don’t worry, even if the sky comes crashing down, I will still protect you and Belle.”
“Juelz, stop messing around. We’re at work.”
Dorothy was not used to this kind of intimacy, much so the feeling of warmth from his chest. She quickly broke away from his embrace and glared at him, “If you keep doing stuff like this, I’m going to leave.”
The door of his office was still open, and there were so many people walking about. He might be shameless, but she wasn’t!
Juelz lowered his head and saw her entire body lurching away from him. He could not help but sigh loudly, “Dory, I was just dying to hug you. You are the only one who can give me the motivation to work hard to earn money, and you are the only person who can give me the courage to protect this world and maintain peace.”
Protect this world? Maintain peace?
Dorothy did not bother to pay attention to the bragging Juelz. She picked up a stack of documents and turned to leave, “I’ll be leaving for a while to go to the Human Resources Department. Have fun blowing your own trumpet.”
Now that she was going to leave the office, to whom was he going to blow his trumpet?
At that moment, Juelz trotted behind Dorothy. He grabbed her arm and pressed her against the door frame. Using his left hand to hold her soft waist, he lifted her chin with his right. Then, he suddenly lowered his head and kissed her on those lipstick-stained lips.
Being suddenly cornered by Juelz, she quickly averted her head aside and escaped Juelz’s sudden kiss.
His kiss fell on her fair forehead instead, a small part of her skin immediately heating up.
“Juelz, you’re out of your mind!”
Dorothy pushed him with all her strength, but his embrace had only grown increasingly unyielding, as if he wanted nothing more than to meld their bodies into one. He did not let her go until Dorothy shouted at him on top of her lungs.
“Dory, I’m not out of my mind. I know what I’m doing. Did you forget that today is my birthday? I hope I can get a very special gift from you-and that is your kiss!”
He stared at Dorothy in her black office wear, and she was beautiful all the same despite the fact that she was simmering in anger. Gentleness swirling in his eyes, he uttered, “Dory, I know you’ll never initiate this kiss, but that’s okay, I’ll be the one to come to you. You only need to take a step forward, and I’ll do the rest of the work.”
He had loved her for nearly seventeen years, and his love for her had already evolved into a towering tree in his heart. He could no longer get rid of her nor had he thought about removing her from his heart.
“Sorry, there has been so much on my plate lately that I’ve forgotten that today is your birthday.”
Looking at the affectionate expression on Juelz’s face, Dorothy suddenly felt powerless.
She thought . he had made their relationship clear, but Juelz had clearly still misunderstood her.
From the beginning, she had only regarded him as her best friend and viewed him as her own brother. They could have any relationship he wanted, but they could never be lovers.
Since she had no romantic interest in him, she must not allow him to stay stuck onto her like this.
“Juelz, I don’t think I’m suited to be a secretary. You should recruit another worker.”
Dorothy pushed Juelz, who was standing in front of her, away and fled away.
Unexpectedly, Juelz shouted from behind her, “Dory, I have a headache. I’ll allow you a leave for half a day, then remember to go to the hospital with me at noon.”
She did not even want this job anymore, so why did he want her to accompany him there?
Dorothy ignored him, and walked forward without looking back.
Juelz raised his eyebrows and looked at her angry appearance. He smiled particularly affectionately as he said, “Dory, at the last page of your contract, there is a line of teeny-weeny words. If you resign without authorization and refuse to be my secretary, then you must marry me in a month! You signed it, and it’s written in black and white, thus this is bound by the law. When you go home, remember to take a good look at it.”
After finishing his spiel, he laughed happily.
He had long known that Dorothy did not love him, but she had never refused the occasional embrace from him. That kiss earlier was also just a test.
Unexpectedly, although she did not like it, it did not revolt her either. That was something that called for a grand celebration.
On the other hand, Dorothy had just stepped into the elevator when she clearly heard everything Juelz had said. Her body froze, and she was struck speechless. She had been completely defeated by Juelz’s tricks.
If she did not go to work, she would have to marry him. Thus, she had to take this secretary job even if her heart screamed otherwise!
Stepping out of the company, Dorothy strolled to a nearby store to get a cold beverage.
Her heart was ablaze with anger, and she needed to drink a large amount of cold drinks to extinguish it.
Absent-mindedly, with her head lowered, she walked straight into the store. She did not notice someone slowly approaching her from the opposite direction. She ran straight into him, as though she was hitting the bullseye.
In an instant, she bumped into the hard chest of a man who seemed to have popped out of nowhere.
She was in so much pain that her tears were about to flow out.
She rubbed her aching nose and was about to apologize when she heard a low and indifferent male voice.
The voice said, “You again. Are you stalking me?”
Dorothy’s body stiffened once more, as if she had been struck by lightning.
